Sir/Ma'am, I have Landline/Broadband connection[protected] from Airtel; Bills dated 12.10.2023 & 12.11.2023 are in error.
I was away in USA [from Chennai] from 22.2.2023 till 16.10.2023; During this period, my house was under lock and no occupants lived nor used any facility including phone line. I have a camera security system that is connected to the broadband so I could monitor my house from USA. My Landline bills from Feb till August showed 0 calls. For the months of Sept & Oct, bills were generated based on sone ISD calls purported to have been made from my Landline to my USA phone number and the bill amount now stands at Rs.50, 317.38! I have given Airtel (a) copy of Exit-Entry stamp from my passport, (b) Electricity usage pattern that showed minimal use of power, (c) name & phone number of postman on beat from Mylapore P.O who was aware of an empty house, as he delivered any mail for us to my sister opposite to my house, (d)Airtel's own LL usage showing ZERO calls made till August, (e)screenshot from my US phone showing BLOCKED calls from India including[protected], and no Roaming facility. I had (i) written to Customer Service 121 on 17.10.2023, (ii) escalated to NODAL officer, (iii) then to Appellate Authority, Chennai to no avail;(iv)i visted Airtel's main Office in Santhome, Chennai, but I WAS NOT allowed to meet any responsible officer/manager to help resolve the issue. I am being tormented with constant reminders for outstanding amount as I had paid the regular tariff bill Rs.588.82 for ALL THE MONTHS (Jan through Oct) withoput delay or default. I am 79 years old with health impaired and heart issues. I request you to intervene to help resolve the matter that I believe is a technical issue [how could there be pulses and charges from BLOCKED phone numbers!!??] and waive the exorbitant charges.
