[Resolved]  AB Arogyadaan - Andhra Bank Mediclaim — harassment, mental agony & delay in settlement of hospital dues

After confirmed approval received through sms from good health insurance tpa limited vide claim ref:199110 on[protected], my wife was admitted to the apollo hospitals, bhubaneswar on[protected] for surgery. After being discharged by the concerned surgeon on[protected], i was told that the relevant bills amounting to rs.1, 29, 000.00 approximately sent to the tpa for approval. At 5.10pm i got a message that only rs.50, 000/- has been sanctioned and i have to pay the balance rs.79, 000/-approximately, to which i declined to accept & contacted ghpltpa customer care more than 5 times till 11.30pm on[protected] to no avail. As a result, my wife and i have to go through a lot of mental stress & harrassment. The next day ie;[protected] at 5.50pm after more than 10 calls & after compelling for more than 24 hours, i got the message that rs.87, 200/- has been authorised. By then, being humiliated by the attitude of the tpa, having no alternative, since the tpa neither approved the amount claimed nor declined, but continued delaying tactics, i was compelled to pay rs.32, 800/- to get discharged.

Is this the way to avail cashless & hassle free hospitalisation?
If the Bank does not take up the matter within 15days with the Insurance company as well as the TPA to refund the appropriate amount paid by me, I will have no alternative, but to initiate legal action for the same
