Air India — refund not provided | |
My name is Vishal. I am complaining about two tickets: 1. My wife, Ritu Khandelwal, was going to travel from Kolkata to Delhi by Air India (Reference: Y9YPP) on 13th March 2019. 2. I, Vishal Gossain, was going to travel from Delhi to Bengaluru by Air India (Reference: JWWK0) on 05th March 2019. Myself, my wife and my five year old son live in Toronto, and were planning to visit India (Delhi) by flying out on 28th Feb by Air Canada flight 42 from Toronto to Delhi. Subsequently, we were planning to visit relatives in Bengaluru and Kolkata. Our Air Canada flight was canceled (I have already shared our cancellation notice from Expedia as proof with Air India). Hence, we could not visit India and therefore, we needed to cancel the Air India flights mentioned above. Given that the circumstances were out of my control due to the geo-political escalations in India, I requested for a full refund for these flights upon cancellation. However, they applied the full cancelation fees which pretty much resulted in close to 0 refund. Really disappointed as government airlines are acting so unprofessionally. Private airlines such as Indigo provided a full refund to me for my flight (will definitely fly them again - great customer service by Indigo here). Air India is being unfair to the consumer, which is why I am complaining here. Was this information helpful? | |
