AirIndia has made it impossible to achieve a simple task "rescheduling a flight". I am travelling business class with my wife EWR to DEL.
PNR: JTYSW /HC9XW. We web-checked in online earlier only to find out 30m later that the flight is 18h delayed. The new time is 5:25am tomorrow. We don't want to spend the night in the airport (both me and my wife are 70+) hence we tried to reschedule to a later date.
The customer-care made us wait hours and kept bouncing us around. Finally they told that they CANNOT reschedule my flight because we are already web-checked-in. And ONLY THE AIRPORT officials have the authority to cancel a web-check-in, and once that is cancelled, only then our flight can be rescheduled. I have never heard this before and am beyond dispappointed. With other airlines in USA, you could pick a new flight online in 5minutes.
We still drove to the airport last night only to find out there was NO ONE from AirIndia in the airport. We went to the airport AGAIN today morning and met with the staff. To our surprise even the airport staff don't know how to cancel a web-checkin.
So after making atleast 8 calls, and making 2 airport trips, there is no one who could help reschedule my flight. We don't have an option but to wait for 18h to board the delayed flight. Was this information helpful? |
