[Resolved] Airtel — airtel secure one assist device security insurance | |||||
I am airtel user and have been using airtel gsm prepaid, postpaid, broadband as well as dth. I subscribed to airtel secure service after seeing much hyped advertisements on tv. The mere fact that my phone is already under warranty, i had an extra out cover and tampered glass on my phone, and i still decided to invest in it's insurance clearly shows how much i am concerned about my phone and take care of it. On 01/aug/2018 i was going to office while my phone fell off while i was trying to keep my phone in my pocket due to the bad condition of the road outside my house and my handset fell down and the touchscreen developed cracks. I filed a claim using the airtel website and submitted my claim on the same day. Now after 3-4 days i received an email and call from them saying claim rejected by the insurance company due to improper handling | no proper care of handset has been taken by insured to safeguard the property. Upon asking by me "how you are supposed to handle the phone while it wasn't my fault while i was keeping the phone in my pocket and due to the surface which was not proper i lost my balance a bit and the phone fell off? They could not provide me a proper justification. My phone did have an outer cover as well as extra tampered glass to protect it from a damage in case of minor impact by felling down. The screen broke as it was a major impact. This was completely ridiculous excuse for not keeping the promise and providing a service for which they are charging me every month. I want somebody"logical" to immediately look into this and arrange to get the phone repaired and delivered to me at the earliest failing which i would be left with no other option than to proceed with the legal proceeding to safeguard my rights as a consumer and get the service for which i am being charged and am in a contract with airtel. I have filed a complain against airtel in to the consumer court. Attached is an acknowledgement slip. I also have all your recordings to ensure that i will track this case to the completion. Also i am collecting all the details of those customers with whom you have done this similar cheating/fraud to present a strong case in the court.
