[Resolved] Akbar Travels — misrepresentation of being a travel agency | |
Needed to get a ticket and thought i had contacted delta airlines because on the internet this travel agency is listed under delta airlines. When the phone was answered no one identified themselves as a travel agency and when i asked is this delta airlines i was told yes how can i help you. I told them i wanted to use sky miles to purchase a ticket for my son. I was told no problem delta airlines charges $125 when you use sky miles to purchase a ticket for someone else. Not a travel agency but delta airlines charges for the ticket. I gave them my information and they gave me the ticket information. Then i was sent an invoice from simba ho, inc a different company than even akbar travels. Worried i gave my information to someone who was scamming people i called delta airlines the next day. They told me there is never a charge when purchasing a ticket with sky miles no matter who you buy it for. Then i got an invoice cancellation for the $125 from simba ho inc. Surprise surprise when i got a charge on my account from akabar travels for $125. They were scamming people!!! Well this 70 year old # learned a very expensive lesson. If the company uses different names, lies about who they are, does not identify themselves as a travel agency, and then lies about the cost of a ticket they are not a reputable company and i would advise you to learn from my mistake. Use caution when doing business with this company or better yet choose a more reputable company to do business with. This transaction took place on june 2, 2018 in the evening. The invoice number for simba ho co is #0236. Resolution for me would be the cancellation on my american express card for the $125 charge. Had i known i was dealing with a travel agency i would have hung up. I saved a copy of both email invoices and would be glad to forward them to an email address of your choice. Miss Bhavya Jain has book our package to Spain and due to visa cancellation our packages was cancelled we had already paid 100000 rupees to them and they now are denying to refund us money and not giving us proper reply.we are now going Legally against them and specially Bhavya Jain
