Anna University — correction and revaluation
We just got out nov/dec 2018 results. I am highly unsatisfied with the results of 3 subjects for 7th semester in b. Tech it. We have got our results on 13th january midnight. 1st subject is information management (It6701). It is a very easy theory subject. I wrote well and expected a s or an a. But i got c. 2nd subject is grid and cloud computing (Cs6703). It is a theory subject not that easy. But since the question paper was simple and straight-forward, i expected a if not s for sure. But i got c. 3rd subject is data analytics (It6006). It is an elective and a slightly complex subject. The question paper was very tough and fully comprised of problems. Some questions were known to be out of syllabus. We had been taught the theoretical portion in college and solved only one type of problem (Which did not come in the question paper). I was able to attempt most of the question paper and wrote relevant answers. I was able to attempt and solve one part c problem because i had learnt the same from youtube. I expected a a or b but i got d. Now i have to apply for revaluation which is 700rs per paper. The total cost will be rs.2100 (Without any assurance that the grade will change) which is a huge burden for me. Even if the grade changes, i will not get my money back. It's a huge loss and burden for a student (Without his mistake) and profit for anna university. They can atleast return the money if there's a change in the grade. If it doesn't change, i will have to apply for challenge which is rs.3000 per paper. The total cost will be rs.9000 for 3 papers which is unimaginable for a student. Here if the grade changes the money will be returned but the initial money (Rs 700) paid for revaluation is wasted. In this way the papers could be corrected wrongly and money could be earned from revaluation. Nearly 5, 66, 000 students write exam every year. If we take approximately one-quarter of students who want to apply for revaluation that is nearly 1, 25, 000 students and rs 700 per paper the amount is rs 8, 75, 00, 000 (In words: eight crores and seventy five thousand). This is just one student wanting to apply for 1 paper. Some students apply for multiple papers. Just imagine the money gained. No proper explanation is given as to why a mere xerox of our answer sheets is rs300. The maximum number of pages provided to us is 45. If 1 sheet costs re1, the amount is rs 45. This is the scenario for all my classmates too. I hope someone to take some Strict action. Was this information helpful?
