Apollo Hospital — apollo fooling customer charging unnecessary and then revising bills unnecessary | |||
Patient name - kailash nath Ip number - ahbip101092 I visited apollo hospital on 3rd of december and was explained the entire surgery and gave an estimation of 1, 50, 000. Before admission, we got a confirmation that pre-apporval amount is approave of ra 65100 and rest of the amount will be paid after surgery as it was a cashless insurance, i admitted my father to the hospital on 5th of december. Discharge full and final was processed on 8th of december at 11:30 am. Till 4 pm we had no update on the status of the claim. At 4:30 we got an update that total of rs 86535 has been processed and the estimation of the operation was changed to 2 lac rupees and they asked us to pay rest of the 1 pac 13 thousand rupees. When i asked questions they insisted to contact tpa na doctor as they cannot do anything. After checking with doctor they said that revised bill is 1, 70, 000 and asked us to pay remaining amount. When i denied they called the security gaurds and surrounded me. My father was suffering from pain on the hospital room and was denied to be given any more medications as fnf has been processed from hospital. After fighting with them for another hour they said that they would be resending form for approval to insurance company and insisted to pay 20000 as depository charges otherwise they said we cannot leave and your patient won’t be given any more medications and if anything happens to him in hospital we would not be help responsible. I had to pay rs 20000 to them to get my father home safely and provide him with the medications. Next day i got a call from apollo that from the total of 2 lac amount, 1 lac 24 thousand has been approved and rest 75, 647 has to be paid by you. The form i received had clearly mentioned that the deviation amount not to be collected by patient. When i said the same, they disconnected the call. They resent the claim to insurance company again by decreasing the total amount from 2 lac to 1 lac 47 thousand in less than 1 hour. Which was the exact amount which was promised before the start of the operation. And then i received a call from hospital to share the bank details so that they can process the refund of rs 13400 as only 1600 is payable by you (Non medical expenses) So, the point is if i would have paid the total amount to them, they would have never accepted the mistake. I had 3 people in the duration of 30 minutes which has the similar issue and they were scaring them to take actions if they don’t pay the amount. I am attaching all the claims which i mentioned above which proves how they treat a person in the emergency situations and only thing they are bothered about is how to charge maximum money from thr patient.
