[Resolved]  Apollo Hospital — Patient lying in icu/icu bed no 114 since 14th. October 2016 slowly moving into coma without the reason being detected.

Paient name r k dass. Bed no114 patient is lying in the hospital from 14th. Night till today in ccu. Till now nothing is detected as to why he is not responding. It seems that the the patient is slowly going into a coma. Lp was conducted but there is no response from the patient regarding which the doctor agreed. During my conversation with the doctor tonight, doctor opined that it might take another 7 to 8 days to detect. This i find is not acceptable. A hospital like apollo taking 15 days to detect the cause is simply inexplicable. Therefore, i request for cross consultation to find out the reason by tomorrow eod. I have been writing mails on a regular basis but there is no response from your end. Failing which i will file a complaint in consumer court. It is quite irresponsible to find that a patient lying in icu/ccu for 5 days without the cause or reason being detected.
In addition to the trail mail, the undersigned hereby informs you that the lp took place yesterday. As informed nph was high, lp conducted and the test yielded not much of a complication. Doctor has advised for a repeat ct-scan post lp. But till now the case is not detected as to why the patient is not responding or reacting in-spite of all the investigations and tests showing no such deterioration.

In the meantime, the undersigned was informed that expenses has reached 136000/- till today afternoon but till now detection of the disease is not yet confirmed. Though you all are more technically equipped to know the medical reasons in these sort of cases but while spending quite a few years at madras/chennai and closely observed the modus operandi of apollo madras i have seen that they believe in cross consultation to detect and deliver fast results.

The expenses are galloping and especially in the "ward pharmacy" the amount is huge which needs to be checked and controlled. The patient was advised to be in a stroke maintenance room (5500) but has landed up in ccu bed no 114 from 15th. October 2016 on wards.

Please see to it that the case is detected, patient if not required should be removed from ccu. A specific answer regarding the cause is required at the earliest. Our esteemed doctor sudhir kumar needs to visit the patient during visiting hours so that we can get a proper update from him. This is not happening. Overall a more proactive approach is required which is completely missing from the aprt of apollo.
