[Resolved] Asianet Satellite Communications — set-top box - malfunction | |||
My name is t. R. S. Mani and my cable tv subscriber id is: ha90170510. On or about 10th of this month, i lodged a telephonic complaint regarding mal function of the stb, and in response, your staff came the next day, checked the stb and informed that the stb is not functioning and since the warranty for same is over, it has to be extended, for which a sum of rs.275/- has to be paid. I was a bit upset about the payment and said i cannot pay the same. After thinking over the matter and considering that my subscription is valid till july this year, on or about 12th january, i phoned your trichur north (Ha01) informing that i am willing to pay the charge of rs.275/- and requested that the stb be repaired. For this request, your office informed that their staff will come and look into the matter. Even after repeated requests on following days, you staff just assured that the technician will visit my place the next day, but this never happened. At one time, i was informed by your staff that i should personally bring the stb to your office at trichur, and pay the amount, and then twenty-one days thereafter, the stb will be repaired and reinstalled. I am an 84-year old senior citizen, suffering from copd and undergoing oxygen therapy, and hence i could not go over. After getting disgusted with the assurance of your staff that the technician will visit my house, i decided to depute a person with the stb and a cheque for rs.275/- towards the said charges. To my surprise, your staff returned the stb stating that i should lodge a fresh complaint with the trichur office on 15th february, and your technician will collect the said stb from my house, and 21 days thereafter, the stb will be returned duly repaired. One could understand the time of 21 days, but the need to lodge a fresh complaint on 15/2/18, and to wait for another 21 days to get the stb repaired and reinstalled, is something i could not accept. At the time of providing the stb, i had to accept whatever was provided to me including the stb, without any option, and i think it is asianet's responsibility to ensure that the stb is functional till the subscription is valid. And to ask for another rs.1500/- if i need a new stb while the subscription is current, is something which one cannot accept. It is because of this i took the option of getting the stb repaired and reinstalled after payment of 275/-. Now, that i have paid the sum of 275/- (Rect#1110878 dt.23/1/18) why should i lodge a fresh company in this regard on 15th feb.? And wait for the technician to collect the stb and get it back repaired after another 21 days? Till such time do you expect your subscriber to go without having cable tv connection? This appears to be attrocious, particularly to a subscriber who have been with you for over ten years. You can check your records for the longivity of my subscription, the date i first lodged a complaint and the date the stb was presented in your office and the date of payment of rs.275/-. Regds.
