Avis Car Rental — reservation not honored despite confirmation, no advance notice

I had avis rental confirmation at bengaluru airport for march 2 at 1230 am. On arrival at the airport i could not find avis representative as promised. On calling avis rental, the agent casually informed me that there was no car and they could not help me get an alternate rental. This happened at 1230 in the morning after i had just arrived from bangkok. Avis did not even inform me in advance to allow me to make alternate arrangements on my own. The agent i talked to on the phone was mr. Naseeb.

I had to make alternate, last-minute rental on my own, which cost me 7500 inr more than the agreed price for avis rental. I want avis to pay me the difference which i had to spend from my pocket due to fault of avis.
