Jaypee University of Information and Technology is situated in Waknaghat that comes under Distt. Solan of Himachal Pradesh. It is approximately 3 KM far from the Waknaghat chowk which is chandigarh-shimla main highway. Till 2019, the taxi fare for this 3 KM distance was rupees 100. I, the undersigned, took a taxi (MH-03/AT1576) (Taxi driver without uniform) from Diamond Garden , Chembur towards Kalina. The Taxi driver asked whether to go by meter or a lumpsum charge. I opted for the meter and the meter charges at different points are as follows:

Please note that today(25-July-2010) one of the Taxi driver of vehicle MH01 AM 9450(make: Maruti WagonR) took extra money from me saying that taxi fare is increased after the recent strike & his meter is not corrected as yet. Meter was showing 38/- for the fare from dadar to sion, but he charged me 40/- saying that base fare is increased by 2/- after the recent strike & new fare starts from 16/- instead of 14/-....
