[Resolved]  Hyundai i20 Magna (O) — poor customer service and late in refund amount

Dear sir,

Sub:- Purchase of Hyundai I 20 became a Nightmare for me

With reference to above the following facts to be considered.

At first I want to introduce my self that I am Mr. Robindra Kumar N ( Manager State Bank of Mysore) working in SBM at Bylakuppe and residing at Kushalnagar. I have the following complaint against Advaith Hyundai about their poor customer service and high handed ness.

1. Till date they have not refunded me full amount due to me which was offered as incentive and discounts for purchase of I20 Magna (O).
2. Advaith Hyndai has given me defective peace of vehicle whose reverse parking sensor is not working at all.
3. Till date the problem has not been fixed and there is no proper response from Advaith Hyundai.

The detail of problem and mental agony I have faced is as under.

1. I have booked Hyundai I 20 by paying advance amount Rs.10,000/- on 10.09.2012.
I have paid full amount of DD for Rs, 6,51,748 on 28.09.2012. ( availing loan from Bank)
vehicle has been delivered to me 05.10.2012.
Offer given to me fee Insurance which as per quotation was Rs.20,014/- and Rs.3000/- cash discount.
Amount that Advaith Hyundai should pay me back is Rs.10,000 ( advance amount)+ Rs.20,014/- (free Insurance offered)+3000 ( cash discount offered)= Rs. 33,014/-
I have received Rs.30,000/- only ( instead of Rs.33,014/-) on 07.12.2012. While sending the cheque for Rs.30,000/- they have not intimated me that they have not paid me my full due. Only when I have asked them that my due is Rs.33,014/- they have agreed that I have still Rs.3,014/- as balance in my account which will be adjusted during subsequent services. I understand that there are 3 free services in Hyundai. Will I get my due only after 2 years then?

The fun is that when there is NEFT, RTGS services available Advaith Hyundai has sent me a cheque for Rs.30,000/- by post which will take 1 OR 2 days to reach me and I have to sent it on collection which will again take about minimum 3 days. This shows that they still wanted to enjoy my fund which they have refunded to me after more than 2 months. Who will pay the interest for this long period of 2 months and 19 days.

The saga of getting the refund was also very pain full for me. I constantly followed with Mr. Reddy sales agent in our region for refund of my money. He told me that once the vehicle will be registered it will be refunded ( I don’t understand the reason for this). After my vehicle was registered I again contacted him for refund for which he said, it is under process but after long time I have not received the money. Then he said that Advaith Hyundai Manager wants a letter from Bank that they do not have any objection to refund of money, as I have availed finance from my Bank under staff loan for which I have obliged and given a letter. At this time as my money for Rs.33,014/- was blocked I was in want of money as I am a salaried class person. Mr. Reddy took the letter on 03.11.2012 and said that I will get my money with 5 days to which I have agreed. In the mean while due to medical emergency of my brother-in-law I went to my native place in Odisha on 15.11.2012. Daily I was looking for the refund amount but that was not credited to my account. When I was in dire need of money to meet medical expenses I rang to Mr.Reddy he has given the number of Mr. Srinivas of Advaith Hyundai who is looking after refund process. Mr. Srinivas after my enquiry for more than 3 days has stated that the letter is not correct and they want it in some particular format (which they should have provided me at the first hand as I think many of vehicles are financed by banks now a days). I was forced to borrow fund from my friends to meet the medical expenses which humiliated me ( I am working as Manager in PSU Bank). I immediately contacted my branch and told them to give no objection letter in the particular format they wanted to Mr.Reddy. In the mean while, I returned back to my work place on 28.11.2012. Till then whenever I have contacted Mr. Srinivas he used tell that Paper is at Bangalore and ED of Advaith Hyundai has to sign the refund paper. I don’t understand the logic of permission from ED for refund of money which Advaith Hyundai is offering as festive offer. On 05.12.2012 Mr. Srinivas has rang me and said (the tone of his speech is like he has made favor to me by processing the refund )that the refund has come and they will send cheque. I requested him to pay the amount by NEFT ( which is more safer and faster method of fund transfer). Instead he blatantly refused and said that refund will be through cheque only. In this way Advaith Hyundai has enjoyed my fund of Rs.33,014 for 2 months and 19 days. Which more than expected time in this 21st century which should not have taken not more that 15 days if they wanted. I request you pay me interest on Rs.33,014/- for 2 months and 9 days.

2. I am a novice in dealing with cars and first time car purchasers. I have high esteem towards Hyundai car and dreamt of owning one. Although I have been approached by Maruthi, Ford I have decided to purchase a Hyndia I 20 which my wife also liked. But all my dream shattered and became a nightmare when I got I20 Magna (O) vehicle which turned out to be a defective piece. After getting delivery of vehicle I have observed that the reverse parking sensor of my vehicle was not working. Which I should have checked , is it?. Or Advaith Hyundi should have checked the vehicle and should have delivered to me correct one? If it is my responsibility to check the vehicle thoroughly by hiring an technician or mechanic, then I am in fault that I have trusted the Hyndai brand and Advaith Hyundai. I brought this defect to the notice of Mr. Reddy, who said that he will look after and will rectify the same and this was much before my service was due. I went for 1st service of my vehicle on 16.12.2012 to Advaith Hyundai, Belavadi, Mysore. I met Mr. Sampath who was in charge of services in that day at around 10.00a.m. and told him that my reverse parking sensors are not working. He said that he will rectify that. When I turned back by 3.00p.m. he said that vehicle have been serviced and everything is fine. When I have enquired about reverse parking sensor he said that he has checked it and may need replacement of sensors. He said that there is no stock of sensors ( Fun is Advaith Hyundai states that it is the largest dealer of Hyundai vehicles in Asia. without stock of parts) and he will order for it and there will be camp at Gonimarur or some place ( exactly cannot remember) next Tuesday and at that time they will come and replace my sensors for which I obliged. Sorry to state that till date after lapse of more than 1 month they never turned back and doesn’t have courtesy to speak about when they will rectify the sensors. On 11.01.2013 I have contacted Madam Hema at Bangalore and told about the racklessness of Advath Hyundai staff at Mysore. I got a call from Mr. Sampath that they will rectify the sensors on Tuesday i.e on 15.01.2013 ( only God can certify their commitment level) I am looking forward whether they will com or not.

One more issue in the quotation for vehicle the cost of insurance is mentioned as Rs.20,014/- but how you have handed me over insurance from National Insurance company with premium approximately Rs.14,000/- only. Is it not deliberate miss representation of facts. If not you should have provided me a insurance policy for with premium amount of Rs.20,014/- only.

The above ordeal of getting refund of money and defective vehicle delivered to me caused so much mental agony that I am repenting on decision of purchasing a Hyundai Vehicle after investing Rs.6.50lacs of hard earned money. I have decided

a. that I will never, in future, if I can will purchase Hyundai Vehicle nor I will discourage all my Kieth and Kin or friends to purchase the same.

b. I will inform all my batch mates who are in Banks as Manager’s to advise the borrowers about the lackluster, high handedness of Advaith Hyundai, Mysore.

c. This ordeal I am going to inform to all the Managers’ of my Bank in particularly in Mysore that their customer may face while purchasing a vehicle from Advaith Hyundai, Mysore.

d. I have already spread the message in LSTS, Bylakuppe the problem I have faced on purchasing Hyundai Vehicle and look forward that all person will be more alert while deciding to purchase a Hyundai Vehicle. This may not effect more to your business but I will try that nobody else will face mental harassment like I have faced. It is my duty as citizen to alert the customers about their rights.

My request is please, advise your staffs to provide fast service and please, rectify sensors of my car and please refund Rs.3,014/- and interest on Rs.30,000- for two months within 15 days or I will be forced to go to consumer forum.

Hyundai — Poor service and refusal to refund

SANTRO HYUNDAI intervened to set right my car which had initial starting issues. But the money charged with no relevancy to the problem has not been returned, though the materials installed new have been taken back by the Party- Nanavati Hyundai of Surat.
