Hello Ceat,
It is very disheartening experience with CEAT and you have almost lost one customer.
When I received call from you today I have clearly told the guy that complaint has not been resolved rather I have seen lots of loopholes in CEAT policies.
When I purchased a tyre on 03/06/2021 from Pankaj Tyres Panipat a fault arose in 3-4 days.But by then, I had left Panipat and moved to Panchkula to my workplace.On contacting Surya Tyres Manimajra Chandigarh they told that there is no stock and they will revert to me as and when stock would be there.Purchase date was 03/06/2021 and fault arose on 07/06/2021 in the form of bump tyre(swallowed).
Again when I called Surya Tyres they told that there is no stock and they will revert.In the meanwhile I received a call from toll free number in July that why I am trying to approach CEAT.I told my grievance but to no avail.No action was taken.
Nobody at any point of time told me that please use Stepney instead as some VSD rule will apply on usage.
When I complained to CEAT in writing in August then Mr Rashmi Kumar from CEAT responded and asked to visit Deevan Motors in Manimajra on 21/08/21 to get the tyre replaced.
Deevan Motors told that since your tyre is DEFECTIVE. tyre has 6.5 VSD you would be charged Rs 900 for replacement.
Such a non-sense this is.It means CEAT charges you for DEFECTIVE item usage.Since after 2 months o[censored]nresponsive behaviour from CEAT and when I had to travel 150 km to my hometown same day, I was left with no other option but to get the tyre replaced and pay Rs 450 to Deevan Tyres.Amount was reduced on request to CEAT.I don't think if some mishappening happened to me in this period, CEAT would have tried to escae from any liability.
One more thing that hurt me alot is when 195*60*16 tyre if Rs 4800, why I was charges Rs 6000 by PANKAJ TYRES PANIPAT????
Your Regional Sales Head Chandigarh Mr Gulshan had told to pay Rs 450 on my behalf from his pocket for tyre replacement but would that guy pay when charges has to be waived.
This is clear cut case of shear harrasment of customer by CEAT.I would definitely approach other forum for my grievance redressal, else this would have been going on to so many customers.
I will also make sure that I will convey this incident to other people too.
