Respected sir,
This is with regards to the tenth board exam for science conducted on 13th march 2019.
I am also one of the examination candidates and it pains me to inform you about the complaints i have with the question papers.
1. Set 2 was the most challenging and difficult paper out of the three, with the most indirect questions (Q.12, q.14, q.20) as can be clearly seen. This is highly unfair for the candidates like me, who got the set 2 question paper.
2. There were certain questions whose answers we've never been taught in our ncert reader (Which we've been told that all questions will be from).
Set 2: q14:
'a dry pellet of a common base b, when kept in open absorbs moisture and turns sticky. The compound b is also a by product of chlor-alkali process. Identify b. State the type of reaction that occurs when b reacts with so2. Also write chemical equation for the reaction involved.'
The reader has no trace of the chemical reaction which they've asked above (Naoh + so2 gives na2so3 + h2o).
This is highly unfair since only set 2 got this question. I hope you ensure that marks are provided for all answers, since this is out of our portions.
Set 2: q20:
'... List any four characteristics of isomers...'
The reader has mentioned only one characteristic of isomers (Same molecular formula but different structures) but the question has asked for four. It is very disheartening that questions are asked whose answer aren't in the reader and we haven't been taught.
Therefore i hope that you will take steps towards these problems and ensure that set 2 answer papers get lenient correction and that the above questions be cancelled.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Ujjawal dugar.
