Customer complaint

Dear sir,

I own chevrolet aveo which i had bought in 2007. I used it very sparingly and it has done only about 37000 km..

It has been an excellent car and i felt concerned about a recent problem of its occasional jerking while on road.

On 17 nov 17, i took the car to regent automobiles pvt ltd, your authorized service station at faridabad at the below mentioned address:-

Plot no.57,, opp crown interiors, 13/1, mathura rd, sanjay mal colony, sector 27c, faridabad, haryana 121003.

Test drive was done by their engineer who found occasional jerking and with no other problem in running of the car.

This problem in the car was investigated and found the cause of occasional jerking was due to defective induction coil. I gave my consent for change of the defective coil followed by complete service

The road trial was done with the mechanic sitting on the second seat. The car ran smoothly without jerking. The car was taken for washing etc after the test drive.

After i paid the bill amounting to rs 13, 988-00, i returned to the repair bay. On return i noticed the mechanic had opened the bonnet and was doing some adjustments. I later discovered that he had dismantled the throttle body and was doing some work on it, without any reason or complaint by us.

The car was handed over to us by the service station as fully fit to drive back home at about 5-30 pm on 17 nov 17..

We barely went about a few kilometer when the car rpm rose very high. Without pressing accelerator, the speedometer was showing 30 plus.in the midst of traffic when i had to apply brake and clutch, the running of engine became very fast and noisy. And when i would leave the brake and clutch, this noise would subside. But due to heavy traffic we had to apply brake and use the clutch time and again with resultant increase of engine speed and too much noise coming from the engine every time. I tried reaching home by moving the car very slowly without having to do the clutch action and brakes, because we were scared of noise and fear of engine catching fire. This we had never experienced in the past in any of the cars we had owned.

With great difficulty we reached home at noida after driving for almost three hours over a distance of barely about 40 km.

Next morning i observed even petrol leakage which is spread on the floor of my garage and smelling strong.

In the morning on 18 nov 17 i spoke with mr afzal hussain, the gm of the service station and narrated to him about the horrible performance of the car. He sent a technician who took the car back to the service station and returned with no improvement. The engine speed and noise was intolerable. He said some more replacements were needed for smooth running of the car. He was also shown profuse leakage from the car spread on my garage floor.

These new defects obviously came up at the service station and after the mechanic started fiddling with throttle body. We are very disturbed with this new serious defects introduced in the car after we had given our approval of its fitness consequent to the test drive.

The following may please be noted –

1. The drive from our residence to the service station was smooth with occasional jerking or missing. This complaint was made in your authorized service station. The defect was diagnosed as improper supply of current by defective ignition coil. A new coil was fitted in place of the defective one. After changing the coil we drove the car for testing and we found no jerking and we were satisfied with its smooth running. After that the car was handed back for washing etc.
2. The drive back home was a disaster. After going barely some distance, the rpm rose very very high with enormous noise. Slowing down the car in heavy traffic meant applying gentle brakes and clutch pedal which made the rpm go very high with too much noise every time i did it. It was exasperating travelling back with this new defect introduced in your authorized service station due to mishandling or any other malafide intentions. Even petrol leakage was caused at the service centre which had never occurred in the past.

It is obvious that the car developed the serious defects during the process of repair and servicing of the car in the service station. Therefore, they are liable to rectify the faults at their expense.

In view of the above it is requested that my aveo car should be made free of the new defects which were developed during the process of repair and mishandling of the car at the authorized service station.

Smooth running of the car must be restored at the cost and expense of the service station at faridabad or by the general motors at the earliest. Also petrol leakage must be stopped immediately

An immediate action is requested.
