[Resolved]  Cinepolis India — staff member misbehaved with me and denied ticket purchase

My son and I have been Cinépolis patrons for years. As of today, we have Rs. 100 each in our respective Club Cinépolis accounts. The points expire tomorrow.

Today, my son visited Cinépolis - WestEnd Mall (Pune, Maharashtra) to redeem the points and watch a movie. There was another patron along with him who was also trying to redeem his Cinépolis points as well. Unfortunately, they couldn't redeem their points as the OTP did not arrive from Cinépolis. My son tried several times to redeem the points. When he complained, one of the executives said that Cinépolis was facing a network issue and they asked him to wait.

He hen met A****T (name censored; he works at Cinépolis - WestEnd Mall). When he realised that my son won't leave, he started insisting that my son and his service provider are at fault and Cinépolis severs are working perfectly. My son asked, "If my service provider is the one to blame then how am I receiving OTPs and SMSs from other apps and services?" As expected, he had no answer.

He waited for some more time to see whether he would come and help my son. As expected, he completely ignored him.

When he walked past the waiting area inside the theatre, he saw my son. He just wanted him to leave. My son finally understood that A****T was the kind of person who preferred to ignore problems instead of solving them. He approached him. This irascible man showed his true colour, he raised his voice and categorically blamed my son and his service provider for the OTP issue. He flippantly said that my son can slog at the mall as long as he wants because he doesn't care and nothing is going to happen to him. My son raised his voice and told him that his arrogant attitude is a blot on Cinépolis. In the end, he won because my son left the theatre.

Now back to the point redemption issue. As of today, we have Rs. 100 each in our respective Club Cinépolis accounts. The points expire tomorrow. I tried to redeem the points on the Cinépolis website, the OTP did not arrive. Cinépolis now allow users to redeem Club Cinépolispoints on the Bookmyshow website, we tried that as well. Similarly, the OTP did not arrive. We enquired with Bookmyshow about the problem, what they had to say made me indignant, they informed me that several users have been facing the same issue and that there are certain network issues at Cinépolis' end since today morning. So, my son and his network provider were blamed for something he was not at all responsible for.

People like A****T are a blot on your status as one of the best multiplex chains in the world, Cinépolis.

My son and I need to be compensated for this point-redemption issue. We are not at fault. We cannot be held responsible for your network issues.

I am making this public because I know Cinépolis will ignore the truth and act like nothing has happened.
