Dear sir / madam,
I am sachin soni from ahmedabad, gujarat.
I own a 2 bhk flat in satellite area of ahmedabad which is a cooperative housing society.
I have given my flat on rent for which the society is asking additional maintenance claiming that i am earning out of it.
The routine maintenance for owners is rs. 24, 000/- for a year where as it is rs. 32, 400/- for those who has given their flat on rent (Rs. 700/- additional per month).
I want to know that is this legal to take additional maintenance?
I understand that the maintenance charges include all the necessary costs required to maintain the building, common area, terrace, and other amenities including lift.
I find this very discriminatory since there is nothing extra my tenant is getting when compared to owners under any circumstances.
I request you to please guide me on this line.
