I have had the same exact problem with Abhayam Enterprises and its proprietor Tom. He keeps saying he will send a replacement maid to my home in Chennai everyday and he doesnt do it. Its been one week and he has my deposit of Rs. 6000 and a service charge of Rs. 5000. He switches off his cell and doesnt take calls when he sees my number.
I have decided that I am not going to let him have my money for free. I googled for Kerala Police and found the Kottayam SP's/CI's contact number /email. I have filed a complaint for fraud and cheating against Tom and Abhayam Enterprises. I want to see this fraudster behind bars and his fraud agency shut down for ever.
He is cheat and a fraud. I would urge everyone to do likewise, file a police complaint and ensure that this fraudster doesnt get away for free and continue to steal money from more people.

Tom Mani, the owner of this cheating firm, is a fraud and a trickster. If you approach him for a maid, he will ask a service charge of Rs. 5500 and also ask you to pay one month's salary as a deposit. When the time comes to end the contract, he is supposed to pay the maid's last month salary from the deposit but he will not. He will account for that deposit with some crazy accounting/arguments and ask the maid not to leave the home unless she is paid by the customer. In other words, you will end up paying Rs.11, 500 to Tom as service charge. If you try to call him, he will selectively pick and choose which calls he answers and you will not be able to get through to him. If you call his office, they will tell you that he has gone out of town.
If I remember right, this guy and his firm were caught by the Kerala Police for trying to blackmail some customers by making false accusations that those people tried to sexually assault one of the maids. This was proven to be a fraud accusation. Not sure how this fellow got out of the case. Not sure why the Kottayam police is ignoring this guy and his fraudulent firm. He should be behind bars and his agency shut down for good.
There are many other better maid agencies in Kottayam. Do not waste your money or time by trying to get maids from Abhayam Enterprises.
