[Resolved]  ABN AMRO Credit Card — FULL AND FINAL SETTLEMENT

Hi,

I was using the Abn amro freedom credit card during[protected]. I had an outstanding of 21, 000 and I wanted to close the account. So collection dept, told me I can pay 14, 000 and they can give full and final settlement to close the card. I paid this amount to the collection dept, but as promised they have not sent me the full and final settlement letter. They stopped calling me asking for my dues for nearly 7 months, which made me think my card account was indeed closed. But 7 months later, the bank called me saying I still have some 9000 to be paid to the bank as outstanding dues. I was surprised that my card was not closed, even after paying for full and final settlement. I refused to pay the amount and fought with the bank. Later they have added me in the CIBIL defaulter list. They have spoiled my credibility, because of which I could not utilise any loans or anything from other banks too. Someone, has to teach ABN amro some ethics.

ABN AMRO Credit Card — A case of fraudulently cheating Rs. 45000/- by ABN Amro Credit Card division

I wish to bring to your kind notice that on 12th Feb 2008, I recieved a phone call from ABN Amro credit card division enquiring whether I had made a purchase woth Rs. 44000/-. I categorically denied having made any such transaction and requested the Customer Care executive from the bank to block the card and not to process the transaction. I recieved an assurance from the customer care executive that the transaction would not be processed and the card is being blocked. Further I enquired whether any action from my side was required to stop this transaction, i was adviced by the authority that there was no need for any action from my side and the case was being referred to Banglore office for reversal. Subsequently the bank agents collected a sum of Rs. 3000/- informing that the money was being taken as charges for reversal of transaction and that I would be getting a letter regarding the reversal.

My salary account being with this bank, the bank unilaterally deducted without my information or consent, a further amount of Rs. 24000/-. when i came to know through the bank account i immediately raised the issue with the bank authorities. The correspondence with the bank indicates that they are in no mood to reverse the transaction and refund the amount of Rs. 27000/- collected illegaly.

The attitude of the bank has not only cheated me to the tune of 27000/- but is also causing mental agony, frustration and helplesness. I am sure, your kind intervention would help me in getting the transaction reversed and getting refund of Rs. 27000/- which the bank has collected from me.

I would also request that you may use your authority to safe guard the interest of the common man whom the bank people are cheating in an organized manner by taking up the matter with the suitable police authorities or other government agencies who may be appointed to check such illegal and unhealthy practices.

Regards

Prashant

Last year there was a charge of Rs 48000 on my ABN credit card. I called up the bank to resolve the issue but they only reversed Rs 24000. Now since that time i get a call from their collection department every month to pay minimum deposit and they will settle, i met their collection head Gagan Kohli about 06 months ago but he again just say and do nothing. Now they started calling and abusing me over the phone and wanted me settle the account for Rs 12000 where in principal payable is only Rs 9000. Can you please help me how to take with the bank and get this money back. I send mails to their head credit card and so many other people but they are least bothered about the issue.

ABN AMRO Make My Trip Credit Card — FALSE PROMOTION WITH REGARDS RS.5000/- HOLIDAY VOUCHER WITH EVERY CREDIT CARD

I had applied for ABN AMRO CREDIT Card in the month of Aug'08, keeping in mind the various offers provided on the card and also since I am a keen traveler the Makemytrip card would be of gr8 use.
I had read through the entire offers provided and there was 1 offer with regards Rs.5000/- voucher of Makemytrip which would be given once I do a Transaction of Rs.2000/- and above on makekytrip.

I have done a couple of transactions, and thus I called up on the helpline to provide me the voucher of Rs.5000/-, the customer care executive very promptly responded to me and confirmed that the voucher would be forwarded to me on my email id with in a day or two.
I again called up the customer care at 10.30am, and got connected to "RUCHI"-customer care executive and was shocked to know that there were some more clauses to be compiled, only after that the voucher would be forwarded to me. The way in which the same was conveyed to me was "pathetic", being in customer service there are certain etiquettes and mannerism to be maintained, where the executive was extremely rude and least bothered to address my query.

Also i continously follwed up with Renu Joshi VP-Service Delivery & Quality Assurance ON THE FOLLOWING DATES
20/10/2008
22/10/2008
25/10/2008
But till date i have not received any revert on this
This is a cheating to customers, by providing promotional offers which do not exist upgrading the sale of credit cards is not at all ethical need your help to resove this
Hi, I am one of the unfortunate customer of ABN AMRO Credit Card family. Recently, I recd a call on my landline from ABN AMRO, Delhi to offer an upgradation from GOLD card to TITANIUM card. They explained a host of benefits and added that there is a minimal fees of JUST Rs. 2500 /- which you need to pay one time. The card is for FREE. The caller kept on insisting that please attend the confirmation call. I declined the offer and still I recd the confirmation call for the same. I declined on that call as well.
Later, after 2 days I recd a call once again and this time the caller told me that YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO UPGRADE. He was very rude and was not ready to listen to anything. He hung up the phone and soon I recd a call from the confirmation deptt for the same. I raised my complaint to the lady who had called and she was just not interested in my complaint. I kept declining and she bluntly told me that YOU WILL RECIEVE AN UPGRADED CARD WITHIN 10 DAYS WHICH YOU NEED TO ACTIVATE. THERE ARE NO CHOICES. When I asked for local customer care for cancellation, they just hung up.
I had called th local customer care number and they are not at asll helpful in providing such information. Is there a legal way to curb such practices ? I want to cancel the card. Can someone please help me ?
sir

today i saw police and many people on the way. one accident had happened there.person was bleading and he was lying on trolley but out of 9to 10 police noone took him instantly to the hospital. i think person will die or had died that time because his most of body blood was on the road and he was totally senseless.if any one of his family member would be with him surely he could do something to save his life but our indian police has no sense abt all these and he was only writing FIR that time.drivers on the way mostly in howrah area donot see people on the way. it is like BACH SAKO TO BACH LO. we will have to do for something now for police' this negligency because the person was alone and he was in bike and going office or somewhere alone. it may happen anyday with me or anybody.

ABN AMRO Credit Card — Harrassment, lack of response, unfair billing...

I use to hold an ABN AMRO credit card ( it got expired last August) however, the amount on that is still pending or so it seems and it just keeps amounting. I changed my billing address last year, Feb, and since then i have'nt recieved my billing statement. I have written to them, told them on the phone etc.. every possible thing i could have done, to get them to listen and act. But their seems to have been no action.

Now i get a call from their collection dept atleast once a day, and all i have been saying is that give me my statements. That just doesnt happen, i dont know what have i been paying for. Ive made some pretty hefty payments ( details can be shared, much more than i ever spent on the card) but in the last one year, i want to close this account and have asked them for the final settlement ( since March 2008). That too has'nt happened. Now i refuse to pay for a statement i havent seen.. despite having told these people... and every month the finance charges keeps mouting. Why should i be paying for it?

I have begun to believe that they dont want to act upon my requests to close account, as that helps them to keep mounting the moneys.. its been a year. Im exasperated.

Their executives use abusive language, threaten etc etc.

Need a closure and dont seem to be getting anywhere with this bank. Please help with way forward.

regards,
aparajita
i too have been asking them to close this card account for the last one, havent got any response. do tell me how you managed to solve it.
now these guys have come to harrassment.

ABN AMRO Bank, Home Loan — Undue late fee charged and two EMI cheques banked in one month

I like to register a complaint against ABN AMRO bank because the service which they provide to there costumer is really worst

I can say.. horrible.

I had taken Home loan from ABN AMRO bank kolkata, in Jan 2005 . The loan amount was disbursed partly. In August 2006, I

shifted to delhi.

1. In the year 2007, my EMI was increased from Rs. 8638/- to Rs. 9607/- due to rise in the interset rates.
In March 2007, I got calls from bank that I need to pay the difference amount of Rs. 969. I had paid the balance Rs. 969 for

the March month to an ABN AMRO BANK associate .
I had handed over four other cheques of Rs. 969/=, cheque nos. 351332 to 351335 to the associate for Apr 2007 to Aug 2007.

But these cheques had been lost by the bank.

In the month of July again the EMI was increased to 10872. So for the month of July I had to pay a diff of another Rs. 1265

/[protected] .And then bank person from ABN AMRO Bank, kolkata, asked me to pay the difference amount from April to

July, he had been asking for this from April month, but as I had already issued cheques, I sent him the scanned copy of the

receipt. But then he accepted that the cheques have been misplaced and as per his request I sent a cheque of Rs. 5141/-

(969/- * 4 = 3876 + 1265), chq no. 528065 thru courier to adjust all the amount from apr 2007 to jul 2007.

And I was promised by him that no late fee will be charged as its the bank's mistake that they have lost the cheques.

In December 2008 I asked for the loan statement and I came to know that late fee had been charged in the month of Apr to

July.2007 . I have closed my H/L account and the bank proffessional have assured me that even if the account has been closed,

I will receive a cheque/ draft for the amount I am asking for, if any. I raised this issue to the bank, but its more than a

month I haven't received any reply from the bank.

2. For the month of Aug.2007, a chq. of Rs 8638/ and another cheque of Rs. 10872/- chq. no. 528056 had been banked by the

bank making a surplus payment of Rs. 8638/- . I wrote this to the bank but I don't see any reversal for this. Instead there

is again late fee.

3. For the month of Sep. 2007, again there is a late fee, while I had handed over the cheques in the month of August 2007

only. I had sent all the cheques to Kolkata bank thru courier.

AS this was the bank's mistake that they had lost the cheques, and Since I had sent the cheques in time, I shouldn't be fined

for this. The bank should bear this.
Also they should return me the EMI amount which has been banked twice in the month of Aug. 2007 along with the interest .
i have called how manay times to abn amro but my cradit card not activate yet.

ABN AMRO titanium card — Cheque misplaced at ABN AMRO Site

To,

Who so ever concerned….

My name is Sujit Ghumkar and I hold an ABN AMRO Titanium Credit card No [protected].

I requested SBI CARD for a balance transfer from ABN AMRO card. Regarding this I deposited a cheque of Rs. 20, 000 dated 14/01/09, Cheque No.986002 received from SBT Bank (state bank of travancore) at your fountain, Mumbai branch on 20/01/09. But this cheque was misplaced at your site. Regarding this I have reported a complaint at your helpdesk. The Complaint no. is [protected] dated 8/02/09

The reply which I got on 11/02/09 was that, the cheque has been found and it’s under clearance process …..
On Saturday I received a call from your customer care saying that the cheque was never found. Also I was asked to fax my SBI card statement showing the transfer happened. The fax no. provide was not existing (Nitin Talwar – [protected]). Now again I receive a call saying that the cheque was never found ….. This exercise has caused me monetary loss as well as mental annoyance.

Request you to please take a quick action regarding this ….. Expecting a very prompt reply from the Bank.

Any further trouble from your bank will compel me to report your case to the consumer court as well as my company’s legal department …….
I am also the victim of same bank.i was using the credit card of the bank and was paying my dues regularly.Even after converting the outstanding amount into the EMIs the bank used to charge some financial and retail charges.Further one day i received a threatining call from some one in Delhi and was forced to pay a amount of Rs.6000 as full and final settlement amount, this was saturday and was promised to get the NOC letter thorugh fax on Monday. Then i received a call from Nodia office, the speaker was a lady. She enquired about the amount that was paid by me as full and final settlement amount. Then for almost 6-7 months noboday contacted from the bank side .
suddenly one day i received a call from the bank executive asking for the dues.I got surprised to hear that becoz last time i made the payment even when my grandmother was admitted in hospital and i was running short of money. But to finish the matter i thought that i should pay.
Now even after months have passed today somebody called up from the consumer risk division and asksed for the same.
This is a callous attitude on the account of the bank .They are harrassing people .Really people should take note of the same and should not use any Abm product.
