[Resolved]  Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital — Extra charges on patient for no reason

Dear Sir/Madam

This is to inform you theat my daughter named Charu (MRN No.: AB1220325, IP NO. AE33856) has got admitted in ADITYA BIRLA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL Pune on 9the May 2012 at 10:12 PM in emergency and transferred to room around 12:00 midnight under TPA arrangement (E- Meditek (TPA) Services Limited) and discharged on 11the May at 11:30 pm (total spending hours : 36 Hours ie 1.5 days)

On 11the May 2012 hospital has sent thee final bill to TPA at 11:30 am and has got approval at 12:51 pm (withein an hour) fax receipt available withe thee TPA and myself.

So thee patient has spent 36 hours (1.5 days) in hospital, but at thee time of discharge, I surprise to know theat hospital has charged extra half day room charges of Rs. 1750/- and doctor visit charges of Rs. 450/- and some otheer charges which I had paid total Rs. 6719/-.

If you see thee check out time and processing time for TPA claim, thee hospital has intentionally decided thee check out time at 12:00 noon so theat every customer has to pay at least extra half day room charges, because theey process thee final claim around 12:00 noon and it is practically impossible to get approval from TPA in 30 minutes.

Furtheer due to late processing by your hospital staff thee extra cost can not be levied on patient.

Furtheer request you to look into above matter and respond accordingly.
