[Resolved]  Airtel — Airtel recovery complaint

Dear sir,
With Due respect i have to inform you that i was using an airtel post paid connection [protected]. i stopped using this no from september 2008. i was not able to pay the outstanding amount because i was laid off . i am still trying to get a job and whenever i was contacted by airtel personally i advised them that i am willing to pay the bill but please allow me some time.
Then they stopped contacting me and suddenly yesterday a person named Mr. R.K. Sharma who advised that he is legal advisor of Airtel called my parents and other relatives and spoke with them rudely and threatened them.
i know that i have done wrong as i was not able to pay them which i owed but why dont they contact me and harass me why are they contacting my relatives when i am willing to pay the bill .
Apart from that why are they not going through legal procedures. They did not even notified me by mail or by calling me that a legal advisor appointed by them will be calling me. I will certainly pay what i owe but i owe apology by airtel and i need to get that. Also i apologise for not paying on time however it was not intentional.

dear sir,
i am a subscriber of Airtel postpaid connection.I have not paid my bill for last 3 month because of some personal problem. The company has then deactivated my service and then there recovery Department has started contacting me to warn me to pay the bill but instead of calling to the alternate no which i have given, they also started calling to my personal no to whom i call more .I think they may have got this no detail from there database .They call to my personal no's and tell them to warn me.
So can you please tell me is this fair to call to my personal no and telling them to warn me, they can contact me directly to my alternate no or to my address .So can u suggest me what can i do for this???
SUB: WRONG SUBMISSIONS TO YOUR AIRTEL CUSTOMERS ON YOUR OWN WEBSITE (Aitel No [protected])
Sir,

With the Indian Judicial System, suddenly, shaken out of their Stupor, it would only be RIGHT to FLASH this letter across all segments of society as an ’’Eye-Opener’’ - and maybe some ADC/ President Body-Guard picks it up and even posts it to the Rashtrapati Bhavan, for it was they who awarded the Prestigious PadmaShree to Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal.
As the face of presumably, the pioneer of Mobile Telephony, at AirTel, do you ever step down - from your Throne’s, to know, the REAL Reason, for your DIS-SATISFIED Customer’s churn, everyday, day-after-day? Go through this letter and the other one, under AirTel Link, in entirety, including the comments section, and find out for yourself, what have you contributed to society, that this prestigious Award, the pride of every Indian, seems STAGED, now, even, to a commoner like me ? It would not be out of place to Highlight, complete apathy towards my plight, which started on 23rd December 2008 when I purchased an ISD calling card from one of your dealers for Rs.561/- which I had bought to make International calls from India to Philippines’… As per Your Airtel website and as well as the information provided by the customer care as well as the floor supervisor I experienced and noticed that the ISD calling card for south east Asian country was very much there and I could get t one to make my calls cheaper. After the first call was made I was shocked to notice that the calls charged to me was Rs.8/50 as against Rs.3/99 per minute.I highlighted this matter to the appellate authority and the response came from one Ms.Seema Malik telling me that Philippines’ does not come in South Asia country…I was stunned to hear that foolish statement of hers ..and I think You should send her to the school again for learning Geography from a good teacher ..how come you have appointed such people in your company who doesn’t even know whether Philippines’ comes under south east countries or not…
When finally when I send her the geography map of the world highlighting the details of the situated country then she admitted her fault and said that she will once again forward this matter to the concerned depts.… well she did call me with now coming up on another version of her story which included her admission to the fact that Philippines’ comes in south east Asia but she said that the company doesn’t have a tie up with any of the operators there ..a mail was sent across to me dated 05/01/2009 stating that as the Philippines’ is not covered in south Asian country we are resolving your issue by reversing Rs.561/ in your postpaid account…
Can the top management tell me that till date ..Whether it’s your website or your call centers information everything is the same …the website does not show any countries name which you are having a tie up with ..this means that if Philippines’ is not included in your Band 2 segment then why it is there on your website and at customers care’s information center..

And, if you allow me, was I to be in your shoes I would have dealt, whoever is responsible for this mis-management, with an Iron fist (Although, I think that would pretty much clean up AirTel, but I think it should be worth it...
This is only making AirTel more and more notorious...with each passing day and hour and minute...
And so, if I could intervene again, the name of the game should be ACTION. Full Stop.
I, as a customer, of the this services of AirTel only wants to put the record straight, on what has happened and get this resolved in an appropriate manner, Morally and Justify

I had an Airtel post-paid connection from 2002 to 2004. There was a delay in paying the final bill of Rs. 8000. An Airtel collection agent made contact with me for settlement of dues. I met that person and paid the outstanding amount and the rest was adjusted from the initial deposit for the connection. In the same week, I deactivated the connection and surrendered the SIM in Airtel Office (Jayanagar, Bangalore).

On 18th of March 2009 (after almost 5 years), I was shocked to receive a legal notice from Gandhi Law Chambers, asking me to pay an amount of Rs 3300 towards monthly charges incurred on the same mobile number I was using in 2004. The notice did not have the contact details of the Advocate, it only instructed me to visit their office and pay the amount. It also threatened criminal action in case I fail to make the payment.

On 18th night I made numerous calls to Airtel Customer Service, and asked them for details regarding the notice. I was told that Airtel does not have any details regarding the connection, except that an amount of Rs 3500 is due from my end. According to TRAI, the service provider should provide an itemised bill to claim any amount from the customer. Also, the service provider (not its legal advisor) should intimate the customer regarding the outstanding amount. In my case, Airtel failed to provide any of the above and had no answer when I put forward these questions to the Managers on the floor.

Fed up with the response, I sent an email to Airtel Ombudsman Department, highlighting the above issues. On the 19th of March, I got a call from the Ombudsman Department in Delhi saying they are looking into the matter and that the amount could be waived off!!
Sorry ... but I don’t understand what Airtel is waiving off, when I do not owe them any money in the first place. This is a very effective way to harass customers and mint money banking on the customer’s fear and anxiety after seeing the legal notice.
I request someone at Airtel to look into this issue and stop harassing customers.
I am also a victim of some unbilled amt 4000 for just using service for 11days

Hi,

I have one post paid mobile number that is [protected]. I have made a request for the name change for this number, for that i failed to submit the documents on time, due to which my number got barred on friday[[protected]] evening. On saturday morning[[protected]] i have submitted all the required documents at Airtel Oulet [E-1/1 Secor 7 Rohini New Delhi 110085]. The customer executive had confirmed that the number will get activated within 48 hours. And now its more than 3 days, it has not been activated yet. This is a very irresponsible service that is given to me. I request to do the needfull ASAP.

Thanks,
Ankit Jain
I am tired of complaining to airtel. This is the second time in the past 15 days I am complaining about deductions for unused/unavailing services. their fraudulent way of conducting business has becoming a menace/harassment This time they have deducted on[protected] Rs.10 for astrology services which i never want nor did i ask for. They are at this mischief again and again.. They have again deducted Rs.10 for Astrology, the service I have never availed. their menace of deducting amount for unavailing services has increased. Now I have to complain to Trai. Every time I have to complain. I warn the Airtel to Immediately refund the deduction. My No is [protected] failing which I will take it very seriously.
