[Resolved]  Airtel — Not refunded Security Deposit

“I had purchased Airtel Connection on 19th January’2005 from below Airtel Showroom:

That time Airtel had launched Two Year’s Advance Rental Plan for Rs.1399/-, first time. In this plan, Rs.899/- were for Two year's Rental & Rs.500/- for Membership Fee. Out of these Rs.500/-, Rs.250/- was refundable after two years, i.e. after expiry of rental period, which many times I got confirmed from Airtel's customer care executives during the rental period.

After expiry of the rental period, from Airtel I got a call regarding renewal of the connection and I give consent to continue this connection by paying Rs.999/- for Three Year’s Advance Rental Plan in March’2007. That time also I, I asked him for refund of Security Deposit but the excutive replied that security deposit refunded only after surrender of connection. On 13th August’08, I surrender my connection at your Airtel Relationship Center at Naraina by migrating it to Pre-paid connection. I again asked them for refund of security deposit they replied me that refund will be made within 60-90 days after the date of surrender. I waited for 3 months but all in vain, I got no refund at all. Then I took decision to write email to [protected]@airtelindia.com and wrote a request email on 3rd December 2008 but for reply I had to wait more than one month. On 7th January 2009, I received email asking the following details of my post paid connection:

Name of the Airtel Showroom (where you paid deposit)
Place of amount paid
Date of amount paid
Copy of Bill……………….?

I provided all details, except the copy of Bill, as didn’t have the same. But to my surprise, I got replied from Airtel that there is not record of any Security Deposit. I again replied by providing more information about the plan, under which I bought the connection and finally I got reply on 9th February that my concern has been forwarded to the respective department and provided me Service Request Number 20584947 and wrote that they will informed me about the revert by 19th February 2009.

But I got no revert from Airtel, so I asked for the resolution quoting the said service request number on 2nd March 2009. On 4th March, I got reply that “we are unable to provide you that refund amount as there is no deposit amount found in your recodes. Hence we are unable to provide you the refund amount”.

I know under which plan I bought the connection but there is not record in Bharti Airtel. What kind of company is this, who is not keeping thier customer's proper data.

I request to all who are AIRTEL's customer be aware and try to get the refund of your connection in time otherwise they will forfiete all the money.

Bharti Airtel — No refund of Security deposit

There is no refund of dposit given back, despite having disconnected the services, pathetic customer service on mails, helpline numbers & relationship centres. They are not bothered for the same & are shameless.

Bharti Airtel — sec deposit not refunded

I surrendered airtel mobile connection [protected] 2 months back. Security deposit of 8000/ is to be refunded to me which has not been done yet. Please contact me on [protected] and refund my my money

Bharti Airtel — SECURITY DEPOSIT NOT REFUNDED

SIR,

I HAVE AN AIRTEL POSTPAID CONNECTION IN MY NAME. DESPITE PAYING ALL THE DUES AND PROPERLY SURRENDER THE SIM I STILL NOT RECEIVED MY SECURITY DEPOSIT AMOUNT FROM THE COMPANY. I HAVE ALSO TALKED TO CUSTOMER CARE PERSONS, BUT THEY DID NOT ANSWER SATISFACTORILY.

Airtel — No refund of Security Deposit since February 2009

I am a resident of Suvarnabaug Colony in Kothrud, Pune. In last November I fell pray to the hard selling by Airtel's salesman who came to my residence informing me that Airtel had planned to install a tower near my apartment building which will ensure excellent signal quality. He offered an attractive scheme and I believed him since I had never experienced Airtel before. I bought the connection for my wife by paying Security Deposit of Rs. 500/- which was refundable after three months.

My wife used the number [protected] for close to three months during which time most often her mobile could not be reached though she was mostly at home. This was due to poor quality of signal. She could also not make any calls during this time and got really frustrated with Airtel service. In spite of her repeatedly calling Airtel Call Centre for assistance, the situation never improved and we disconnected the number in Febraury.

My wife had asked them to adjust the bill amounts in the security deposit and refund the balance. We were asked to pay the last bill and were assured that the SD will be refunded by cheque which will be delivered to our residence address.

It has been over 7 months and we have paid several visits to Airtel outlet on Karve Road. The Airtel outlet does not take any responsibility and we are required to call their toll free number from the outlet where we speak with some faceless call centre employee who assures us that the refund cheque will be definitely sent in about 10 days - this has happened 2-3 times, yet we have not received the refund amount.

Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal, if you ever read the complaints and really think you want to make a world class Telecom company, I am sorry to say that you have miles to go to even make it an India class company - your staff is pathetic in communication and apathetic to the customer. Drop MTN and focus on serving India better first would be my sincere advice.
