[Resolved]  Airtel — Address Verification Problems

I applied for a post paid corporate connection.
I was asked to provide a address proof.
I provided my airtel broadband bill as address proof.

After a week, surprisingly my outgoing services are barred,
when I called customer care I was informed that the address verification came as negative and thats the reason why the services are barred.
I was not informed about this at any point of time. I gave my alternative number if they want to contact me, but still no one contacted me.

As usual customer care people told me that contact address verification department(how come always these departments work independently!!!), when I called address verification department they told me that address verification report is negative as they were unable to trace the address !!!
I am surprised how come the same company personnel was able to come down to my home to do the broadband installation !!!

Address verification department told me that their people will come and do the verification in 72 hours.
When I asked if it is possible to come on some specific date & time, they told me that its not possible.
How come they expect a customer to be there at the address "when ever" they come?
Finally address verification department agreed that they will send a person before 9:30 AM.
After 3 days (72 hours) I called up address verification department and inquired why the address verification is not yet done?
They informed that it will happen in another 72 hours.

After 2 days again I called address verification department and came to know that the address verification has happened but its again negative, reason is simple: "customer is not available at home" !!!
One good thing is they were able to proceed further, from address not traceable to address traced but customer not available :)

Looks like they can't respect the customer's problems. I clearly mentioned that its not possible to be at home "when ever" their people come for address verification.

They are taking their own sweet time to do the address verification.

The out going services are barred, but I have to pay the bill (if it is just for the sake of incoming i can opt a prepaid connection). For this great service I have to pay 12% as "service tax".

When do these guys will give respect to the customer's problems?
When do these guys really understand that customer's are paying them not to face any service problems but not to invite the problems.

I am still waiting for the address verification to be completed !!!

In contrary to this I do know people who got the airtel connections with out proper address verification !!!

I faced a similar situation upon buying an Airtel postpaid sim. No one came to verify my address and my outgoing was barred causing severe inconvenience. Airtel: never again!
I have Airtel prepaid, but out going call barred by saying automated message address not verified. But when calling customer care, they are saying your KYC is ok. This is a technical glitch. Now this happening frequently.
