[Resolved]  Airtel GPRS — Very Slow Speeds

Dear Sir,
I am experiencing very slow speeds on my Airtel Connection. I use internet generally on my mobile phone itself and I have found the speed to be very unsatisfactory. I am using one of the newest Android handsets, rest assured ...the problem is not with my mobile phone. I have the [protected]@Rs98 pack activated on my mobile. But with the current speeds I dont think I will even be able to use 300-400 MB. I am using your EDGE network and to the best of my knowledge the speeds are supposed to be much better than 2-3 KBps than i am getting right now. I suspect you are throttling the GPRS Unlimited plan users. Just to mention than I recently switched to Airtel, from CUG Vodafone plan (for which my company was paying the bills), just so that I can use the internet without hassles. Is this how you plan to get loyal customers?

AIRTEL/GPRS — Wrong information/negligence of giving service

My problem was that i was unable to use my Yahoo mail on my Mobile i.e in Nokia E71. I was using it later before one and a half month after which i was suffering a hardware poblem for Camera so i dropped in the service centre and i recieved it two days before i.e on 26/11/2010. Finally i inserted the sim and was configuring my mail but my mobile is showing the message for a long time stating that Connecting to server or testing network connection and the i was unable to configure my mail. Now i called up the Airtel Call centre in which a girl was assisting me in rest of the configuration part yesterday i.e on 27/11/2010, i did it and it was not told by her that the airtel doesnt support yahoo.com site as it is the secure site and the user is required to pay $20 yearly for yahoo.com site to be used on my Nokia E71 mobile. she asked me to continue further using yahoo and in the same way also told me that for future problem contact on 12118 for technical issues. now i started using but the same problem was occuring while i am coneecting the yahoo mail it is not getting connected. today i.e 28/11/2010 again to the call centre and had a word with girl and asked me about the problem, itold her and she asked me about my model no, I said Nokia E71. she was not having handset knowledge because she told me that there is two model in Nokia E71 one is Nokia E71 normal and other is Nokia E71 Music but there is no such model as Nokia E71 Music. it was her first mistake. after which she said that yahoo.com is the site which you need to pay $20 yearly and interrupted her that i was using yahoo without paying anything except 98 rupees as my rental for GPRS to Airtel monthly. but she denied my words saying proving there is no such system o[censored]sing it without paying, i was completely upset as i used it later and noe someone is proving that i am saying false and i request her to transfer to a sophisticated technical whose going to guide me and she transfered my call to a guy whose name was Mr. Devendra Solanki and again he said the same words as the second girl but i asked him continuosly to check the updates and give solution as i was using it later also but he didnt did so. and while giving me some information he he get irritated saying that i cant do two work at a time better what i am saying you write that. so this is not a cutomer service part that i am getting after bearing Rs. 98 Rental and even if am not talking of my mail than there is another problem that am unable to use web browser, whenever am calling to a reciepent he gets wrong identification in terms of my number which shows in the recipents mobile screen. i want the output at any cot because they chrged me .0.50paise for per three minute and was talking to them since 15-20 min. that to thrice but still its not working. consumer should be treated properly and should get every updates, output in a positive manner and sholud listen but not interrupt. will be waiting for your positive feedback.

would like to add one more thing that now I am able to use my yahoo.com site which accoding to the call centre guy was that i cant use. he or the company should be charged for the same and i need a reimbursement for the same. than only from after one will try to give the right customer satisfaction and should be a lesson for all the person or the service provider who are challenging the cutomer about best cutomer service.

hi...i used to prepaid to postpaid connection, goregaon west branch mr.shabas, yet i have not got well service, i have submited all documents dt : 15th of dec, 10. & i also pay your chages. my contact no is [protected].your service is not good.

last month i got download speed upto 25 kb/sec...now only 5 kb...pls resolve the issue...u r leaving no choice other than to switch to vodafone...im living near bhavans college andheri west mumbai.

i totally agree with the complaint. i am currently using an iphone 3gs and i tried the 98rs pack on my iphone. It is a shame to use airtel net on a smartphone in my region(punjab). how can even one think o[censored]sing 2gb with such a speed even in an years time???? i had also migrated to airtel from vodafone this year using MNP. now i think i will have to switch again to aircel or some other service provider that provides 3g services in punjab. if the problem is not adressed well in time airtel will lose many customers in this circle...

i am useing airtel 2g from 2 year. 6 month before airtel gprs speed 15 to 25 kbps but in this time speed is 2 to 3 kbps only with edge networke. other natworke giving good speed so i use other natworke.ok

Airtel — Unrealistic GPRS Usage

Hi,

Am an Airtel Prepaid User from Bangalore.Recently I received a huge bill amounting to more than 3 K and all it had was charges which were related to my internet usage.I had a similar issue with them last time to for which I made them reduce my bill (which I wasn't quite satisfied with).After this incident i installed a software in my phone which actually keeps a track of my internet usage including the websites i visit and stuff that i download(which i never did).All i do is check my mails and use Facebook.I called up the customer care and they told me that my usage is more that 4 gb for the month. I don't understand that just by checking mails and using FB can usage amount to 4 GB.According my my phones records i have hardly used 100 MB in the whole month. I called up the customer care many times and they took my complaint and they told my that i will be getting a call in 48 hrs which i haven not received yet and it has already been a week.

Please help me with the issue above asap. I can also produce the log generated by my phone if a proof is needed.

I recently switched to Airtel [protected]@Rs98 which is horribly slow... with this speed i think no body will ever be able to use more than 200 to 300 mb per month. if the company cannot provide the full usage value of the pack to customers, the company is going to really lose out on customers for being fallacious with such unrealistic fraudulent schemes. I feel that the network (Reliance) that i was using earlier was considerably faster than the present Airtel pack that i'm using. I request you to kindly resolve this issue which is really affecting millions of individuals suffering like me out there!!!
