Service Providers are in a fix as to what to do with the porting request because they do not like to lose a customer. Therefore resorting to all sort of harrassments without valid reasons. They are harrassing unreasonable to unthinkable extent and thus inviting hatred towards them selves from the section o[censored]sers which is bound to malign their reputation to an unthinkable extent. They fail to realize that they can not hold the customer for long by such harrassment technique by telling white lies about the reasons as rejection of requests. In my case there was a balance of 0.78paise against my post-paid scheme which they cited as reason for rejection where as they collected only Rs 1178 against my last bill of Rs.1178.78p when Rs 1200 was tendered for clearing the dues against th last bill. They only give useless reply to your mails. They are never specific to your querries. They try to educate you about MNP just to show that they are concerned about your inconvenience but in reality they are mischievious fellows out an out on toes to harrass you and make you suffer with mental agony.
In my case when the balance against m current bill was 0.78 paise, I found thay they rejected the request on the ground of outstanding payment. hen contacted oer phone, no one gave satisfactory reply. They give you bogus SMS and COMPUTER GENERATED msgs which does not serve any purpose.
Ultimately they called and asked me to make payment o[censored]nbilled amount too, failing which they informed over phone (they never replied to the point when I emailed them) that all the unbilled amount also needs to be cleared before porting. But in my understanding only the bill raised amount is to be cleared as a post paid user. However, to make the think simpler, I went out of the way adn cleared all the unbilled amount along with the full amount of the monthly rental and kept them informing about the status and the action taken as per their verbal advice.
Lastly I found that they are still showigng outstanding though I made full payments and when challenged they accepted their mistake over phone but did not incorporated the corrections in their wrong entries in the server which always is showing outstanding. I vehementally protested and said thatt my outstanding for biled and unbilled taken together is NIL and so there should not be any problem for porting. They even misguided in past saying that since I have satisfied all the conditions, they have nothing to do and only the new service provider wiill do the needful. It was blantant lie.
To my surprise today I got one message from 1901 that my requuest has been rejected on the legal ground. It sounded so funny! as on 9/2/11 the reason for rejection was outstanding and when it was proved that there was no outstanding, they found some alternative way to harrass me. They have never told anty reason to me for rejetion, Neither on 9/2/11 nor today but the message that I received today from 1901 made it clear that this time they have some the reason a Legal. Is it the way a renowned service provider is carrying on with his business by decieving the customer by resorting to unfair mean? Can he hold on a customer in this manner. There should be one rmeedy and heavy penalty for the service provider who are harrassiing the cuustomer by unfair means. bThis time they said thereason for rejecttion is legal .I fail to see any legal content. Can India be a fair country if the policy makers are not strict witth such service provider who are harrassing the custtomer by unfair means. In my case, I wonder, if the reason for rejection on 9/2/11 was outstanding what suddenly made the reason Legal for rejection.
I HAVE CCORPORATE CONNECTION AND EVERY TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PORTING HAS BEEN SATISFIED. STILL I AM BEING HARRASSED ON ONE PLEA OR OTHER.
Can we not say that this is the Demerit of Privitization in India where ordinary people are harrased for no fault on their part.and no instant remedy is available? Such serviice provider shouuld be dealt with strongly and made to pay heavy penalty for dishonouring the decision for implementation of MNP Scheme? Why are they feeling so insecure about MNP? This very attitude shows they are not fair andtransparent in their business and cheating people with hidden means.
Yes Prasad u are correct,

Shall we move to TRAI or Consumer court???
AIRTEL REJECTING MNP

Airtel is not allowing its customers to switch to other operators of the fear of loosing its customers. i have applied for mnp on 30.1.2011, i got the new sim of reliance
and also i submitted my documents, after that i got the call from customer care about the reason for changing the operator to reliance, i said that its because airtel is costly as well as
3g has not yet come in chandigarh after that he said that they will reduce the call rates as well as sms for me . i rejected that offer and said that i will switch to reliance after that
its been 15 days that they have not done any mnp and i called around 50 times to customer care where i got the following response from them
1. WHY DO YOU WANT TO SWITCH TO RELIANCE?
2. YOU SAID YOU DONT WANT TO GO FOR MNP TO OUR CUSTOMER CARE WHO CALLLED YOU
after that he set a "BAD HELLO TUNE " AND REDUCED MY BALANCE TO -3.34 RS SO THAT I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CALL THEM and DEDUCTED 45 RS
what a customer care are they providing, is this a the care of deducting balance and setting bad hello tune is a service which airtel is providing to its customers
i must say that airtel will loose its share in the market as well as it will HAVE IMPACT ON CUSTOMERS WHO READ THIS MESSAGE

THANKING THE PEOPLE WHO SPEND THEIR TIME IN READING THIS MESSAGE

" i am applied the MNP service on 20.01.2011 from airtel to some other network.

The new service provider will assure that you new service will get active by 27.01.2011.

But yesterday(27.01.2011) the new service provider sending the following message "Request AZ151189 dated 27 Jan 2011 has been rejected by current operator (Airtel) due to There are subsisting contractual obligation from the Subscriber agreement. Pls contact your current operator for further details." what is the Hell that Airtel guys doing i didn't sign any agreement with that Service. What the **** they are playing with Number portability. When i try to call the customer care simply avoiding the calls...and i try again i not able to call the customer care.

DEAR SIR,

MY NAME IS KIRON DAS GHOSH

SUB:= Airtel is Rejecting my Porting Request

Airtel rejecting my MNP application
I am using airtel no [protected] (Kolkata) for the last 5 yrs .
And I want to change my mobile operator Through mobile number
portability from Airtel to BSNL.And I went to BSNL office
and I submit my id proof and porting charges. But I receive a
message from BSNL that Airtel mobile operator reject your porting .
Because of Contractual obligation. Actually in my case there
is no contractual obligation with Airtel because mine was an
individual normal prepaid connection. they are simply delaying
my complaint saying so-many lies. Actually MNP is a customer right.
but here airtel is denying that right for me.
I have called 198 & told about this problem 6 to 8 times
I received the airtel customer care request nos:
CMNRA[protected] But no body is ready to respond to this problem..

I am planning to file a complaint in consumer court for compensation.

I contacted my airtel customer care about this issue no one has responding .
Please. Help me sir
yours faithfully-

KIRON DAS GHOSH
Hi this is Kathik anand.C for Coimbatore, Tamilnadu.I am having the same problem with airtel and i applied for the mobile number portablity for the third time to convert from airtel to reliance. Finally I decided to send a postal letter with a CD which contain all conversation with airtel since my first portal request to TRAI.They will decide what to do to make my porting possible. To all I prescribe this way and tis is only solution to get relief from bad customer service of airtel.
It is not any serious problem to get MNP because of you may get UPC code some other source, but critical problem is to; it approve by your existing operator, when you submit UPC registration at your new operator to switch to there, before done everything it has to be approved by your existing operator. Your existing operator shall reject it with out any productive reason.
I am victimized this kind of rejection in two times
