Airtel — Wrong Billing

Airtel is now becoming master in poor service and wrong billing, few weeks back
one of my colleague was fighting for wrong billing and now its my turn.

My Bill plan is 750 for 5 GB and I received bill of 4494 socking amount while
with no much extra use. According to usage alert I used my 100% quota on 29th June 2012 and after that I used some MB data on 30th June and then no use of data card. According to plan I should receive 750+extra(maximum 10 MB) but received such huge amount which is totally rubbish.

When I put them e-mail, customer support is simply says that they have verified and its not over billed while they don't have any answer to usage alert screenshot which I shared with them. I believe this is their policy to cheat customers who can't fight as they usually don't listen your concern. Moreover my credit limit is also 1400 and then how can bill grow up to more than 3 times of credit limit.

Now my simple question is

1: What is your credit limit means?
2: Is your usage alert system bogus which gives garbage result and if yes then how can we trust your billing system
3: Why this is happening so often(My Colleague also faced same issue)

Now when I asked to disconnect my data card until this issue resolved then they says that I would have to first pay bill...........what the hell

I have a connection of Airtel Fixed line + Broad Band from 4 months. At the time of installation I saw the billing charges and instrument mrp slip was quite different. I said to representative about this but he said if you want take other wise leave. I could not understand this thing because legally no one can take extra amount . Who will monitor this wrong activities.
I need my extra money. How can i get this.

I have been receiving assurance from you time and again no perceptible action at your end. I am one of the esteemed valued first customer of airtel Chennai broadband remember this?
you have to give the benefit of doubt and non-compliance favouring the customer in this question. One should not take money without giving the bill is an offense and may be construed as bribe. As we are witnessing more and more news from telecom scandle? Kindly reverse the charges for the last 12 months which is tantamount to taking my money through ECS without giving invoices, as per our Income Tax rule prohibit money laundering without showing invoices to the service provider as good as scam .
till date there is no solution. complaints is on paper, no action taken by airtel management. Let me escalate to consumer court and redress.
I am a user of airtel mobile services for the past 8 years and broadband services for the past 5 years. this complaint is regarding airtel broadband in one of my offices in hyderabad. We requested for change of address on 4th Nov-10. Airtel people checked the new location and said the services are not available there. I requested for disconnection as we are vacating current premises. On Nov 5th, they de-activated the connection. We moved to new location on 5th Nov 2010.
However, they continued to generate the bill till Jan-11. During this period we kept complaining about the same. They stopped billing after that but started pestering us for paying the bills of dec-10 and Jan2011. After numerous calls, the legal department (Hyderabad), the technical department and myself had a conference call. The technical department person, after verifying the logs, informed me that they re-activated our account on 8th Nov-2011. Hence the bills were generated. the legal department woman was adamant that ~2500 inr is due and the bill has to be settled.
My repeated mails/ requests to the service department, ombudsman failed to elicit any response.
After further discussion, she agreed to settle for 500 inr as final settlement. She asked me to pay the amount to their billing person and later she will send the no dues certificate. Their representative and I paid the amount in April-2011 (Big mistake). With in couple of weeks their legal department from Calcutta called me asking to pay ~2000 or else face legal consequences. Needless to say I was shocked and asked them to go ahead. In third week of jun-11, I got a call from their legal arbitrator/ Delhi saying that they intend to sue me in delhi and explained the costs of visiting/legal expenses would exceed the 1800 so why not pay up. I asked him to go ahead with the process. Then i had a discussion with my lawyer. He said it might cost 6~7000 to defend but my time will be wasted a lot. Also, it seems Airtel is "trying to take revenge" by filing a case in delhi to harass so they might focus on troubling you a lot. Though I was willing to fight for the cause, the costs seem unjustified. Hence as per his advise, talked to the arbitrator and settled the dues .
While I like their service quality, I realised their behavior borders on intimidation/coercion. I feel like i have paid a bribe to save my time. Hopefully i will find a way to recover this money one way or the other in future. Meanwhile, I have decided to "say no to airtel" for rest of my life. We are moving personal/ business communications other service providers. Better to go to a low service provider rather than over pay to a behemoth whose behavior borders on thuggery. Atleast, i will reduce their revenue by 10000 inr/ month (thats what we pay to airtel for various services)

My dear esteemed sir.. I am in no mood to be fooled by you by sharing my details. Your company has resorted to legal black mail by saying that you will file a case in delhi high court, when I have availed your services all along in hyderabad. And your arbitrator very clearly said... "Sir after the case you may pay or not..but aap ka lawyer expenses our travel expenses to is se jaada hi hogaa"..Indicating that the intention was of a harassment.

Let me guess your modus operandi..
You take my details. Generate a wrong bill or say that there are dues stll pending..or even say that I have abused your staff when they called from your calcutta call office and a file a case in calcutta. Then harass me for the next 2 years??

In my 12 year career i have seen so many crooks and unethical organizations. What surprises me is the "insanity" of troubling your loyal customer and screwing him..

my airtel number [protected] has been closed on 18th july to 08th june so please tell me why pay the bill
had cug connection but the proper components were not filled in scheme and they have raised the bill without giving any discount of applicable in scheme. Further they have not included the the entire numbers in cug plan and charged for the cug out going calls.The most difficult to contact the proper person or on internet so that I can make the complain .

We have requested them to disconnect our service vide our mail dated 28 March 2011
They have acknowledged the same.
Now they have raised a claim for bill for Rs:1649..
We have explained them many a time referring the same but yeilded no result.
Now they had sent a legal notice us for the payment of rs: 1649
We and our associates are using around 40 Connections of thiers and there is no default from us till date until unless some problem is presented to us by them.
Pls do the needful .

airtel telecom service — Not received billed amount

I migrated my airtel mobile[protected] from postpaid to prepaid. At that time they asked me to pay complete unbilled amount. After generation of my bill the extra amount which i have paid that will get refunded to my account. However i didn't got any amount yet.
Later i contacted to customer care they told me that i will receive this amount via cheque within 60 days.
Still i didn't received any cheque. as already 60 days over.
I don't wanted to continue with the airtel service. wanted to switch to other operator. however still airtel customer care saying that we can not migrate to other service provider within 60 days after migration to prepaid.

This really sucks ...
This is with reference to airtel billing account no.[protected] bill no.[protected] mobile no. [protected]. I am using airtel GPRS pack (Rs.98 2 GB pack). Till last month the billing was ok. This month i got a bill of Rs.8185.7 telling me that i have used more than 2GB (2534771 units). I have a counter in mobile. As per my knowledge i have used 1.86GB. In the month of June, I have used 1.97 GB for which the bill shows only 814404 units. I am using the same number for the last 4 years. I have taken 1 more number also from Airtel. But i was not offered any offers. When i applied for portability to reliance they gave me some offers. I didnt accept and they cancelled my portability application.

Wrong billing happened for me 4 years back when i shifted from prepaid to postpaid and they issued waiver after i proved that i was their mistake.

As you informed that my concern listed on 22 Aug. 2011 is been worked upon. Today is 21 October. and still i havent received any amount by airtel.
When i contacted Airtel officer, nobody is there to help me.

I have been an airtel customer using the mobile phone service until April 2011, when I closed the account. The a/c number is[protected]. I have enquired about details of requirements for closing account and have paid outstanding dues at the time of Rs 501). I got an e-mail receipt from Airtel acknowledging the same (receipt no. 42571658; dated 30 May 2011). More then 2 months later, I got a bill by postal mail from Airtel for unpaid dues again. I ignored this as I did not have time to run after false claims such as this. I got a second statement o[censored]npaid dues, this time with warning of a penalty. Last week I received a DD from Airtel for the refund of my deposit which was Rs 6000, from which they have deducted Rs 711 as "outstanding dues". This amounts to fraudulent billing since I closed my account prior to making the final payment. Apparently, others I know have had false bills sent by airtel after closing their account.
My name is S. B. krishna. I am an Airtel postpaid user with mobile No. [protected]. In my bill for November 2011, Rs.360.00 has been added under the head rent for GPRS from[protected] to[protected]. This has been charged 2 Rs.140.00 per week.

However, I have not opted for the said service. I received the SMS on[protected] stating that GPRS has been activated and I have to send SMS DEACT 140 to deactivate. I Propmtly sent said SMS on[protected].

Why did the company inform me immediately after activating the GPRS service? Why GPRS was activated without my knowledge and consent? Why did the company inform me after activating and also deactivating the service? Please note GPRS has been stopped as on[protected] and I received the message of activation only on[protected] i.e. after even the deactivation was also done on[protected].

My account has been unnecessarily charged by Rs.360.00 besides taxes on the same.

Please ask the company the correct my bill for November 2011 and send me corrected copy to me and Standard Chartered bank since I am paying the bill amount through my credit card issued by the said bank.

This is Venkatram Reddy Punnam with mobile number +91 [protected] ( [protected]@yahoo.com ) an Airtel customer for the past 12 years, and I am availing the GPRS since past four years on rental package of Rs. 200 for 1000mb every month and I never exceeded my limit all these years and four months back I have changed my package to with new offer i.e. Rs. 98 rental with 2 GB free. Recently I have received an SMS on[protected] asking me to pay a bill amount of Rs. 7189.59 and when contacted the customer care centre they said that I have used GPRS services worth more than Rs. 28000 and I was been given a discount of Rs 21000 ( with out any request from me and information )and now that I need to pay the bill amount. I was shocked at this as I am sure that I have not used or surfed beyond the limit and I feel this is true sense of cheating form Airtel. I have complained to the Nodal Officer and also the Appelite authority and all the where I am getting the same information and advice to pay the bill as claimed by the Airtel.

This is not the first time and I also not the first person to get this treatment and recently also I have read about such similar bills in the local news papers and I personally know people and incidents of similar nature and all of them ended up paying the bills which were not really used.

I request you to take my complaint and do justice to me and also take firm and hard action against those service providers who are cheating the general public money by claiming false bills.

I am user of airtel & from last 2 months airtel are deducting money from my account for use of GPRS but my gpts pack is active so money should be deducting from gprs pack. Airtel is accepting this but not returning my money & saying will call me on that day but not calling & not returning my money.

I had migrated from my Airtel Prepaid to Postpaid. It was a plan in which i had to pay Rs. 499 in advance and for 6 months there would be no bill. I was assigned 100 SMS and 3000 sec free every month in this plan. If my usage was more than these free assigned then there would be a bill of 1.2 paise per sec and .50 paise per sms. However the very first bill after 6 days of portability was Rs. 701.32. This bill was from 24/3/12 to 1/4/12. hope this thing gets sorted out fast. I dont know what the problem is.

I have been using a airtel services for mobile phone for one year now and my monthly bill on an average has been Rs[protected] maximum. Last month while talking to a customer care executive I enquired if I could get a plan for better STD rates and SMSs as my family is from out of town. He suggested a plan for min 499 per month and I asked him what about GPRS as I have a a smart phone and use it for basic mail chacking purposes etc. He told me I could go ahead with the old plan for GPRS as I am used to that. I agree and went ahead.

This month my bill has come to Rs 8500!!!! I am shocked and have complained and tried to explain this several times to the people at airtel who keep repeating the same thing about "Sorry your new plan is this and thus your charges are more" My usage has not incleased 4 times in a month and now I am being FORCED to pay Rs 7000 extra for a customer care executive's mistake!!!! This is JUST UNACCEPTABLE!!!! I have complained to them several times but they are going on billing me!

Pls help me as I feel this is just not fair!

The complain is about non auto Renewal of GPRS pack because of which lots of money got deducted from my Account. I had subscribe to the GPRS pack during month of May 2011, the pack got renewed for 6 months ( no message was sent to me but it used to get renewed). Suddenly during the month of December 2011 it didn't get renewed. Large amounts were getting deducted from my account. When I wrote to customer care they said that there is no undue deduction of amount. On my pestering a consumer executive called and she confirmed that the deductions were on account of GPRS. Again while pursuing the matter with them they confirmed that it was because of a technical glitch from their side that these sums got deducted. Now I told them to return additional sums as the deduction was because of their fault. No replies from them. Wrote to nodal office, they just kept matter pending. Then wrote to appellate , they forwarded the mail to Nodal . Executive from Nodal office then called and tried to settle the case for a sum of Rs. 200/- On my refusal they just kept silent. Wrote again to Apellate, mail again forwarded to Nodal office . Again executive called , had to repeat to her the entire episode , she kept on blaming me that I was late in complaining without realizing that I am constant writing to them for last 3 months. She promised to get back with redress. No news till date of writing this .

Seems these executives are going to doom Airtel . Management does try to enforce quality control but employees never seem to care.
Airtel is loosing its name, it was known for its services & nowdays it i spathatic.

I have airtel mobile with 3G connection & they have given me bill in april 2012 which is showing wrong billing.

In my bill their are two data usags shown at same instance of time.

Have been writting numerous mail to Airtel customer care applet RJ but their is no response since past 2 months.

The company is totally not supporting in resolving customer issues.

Many time they say that my no is not reachable.

Have provided my alternate no [protected] to them but still their is no response.

Hoping the company will help to resolve the issue on priority.
