Yes, this is totally unacceptable. I had a monthly package with them and they claimed the gym was being closed based on the members request.

I tried getting a number to talk to a representative but cant reach them. I searched the internet and it seems anytime fitness is a well known gym in india so maybe you should escalate to the management and ask them for a refund.

I am not sure how the legal system works in India but if its like the states you should be able to sue their asses if they do not give you a 100% refund with a compensation

Yes, iam also in the same poisition and paid membership for 10years, letus make a group for legal suit.

same with me guys..i just joined two days before.
I called a no of a guy in gym and he said they are facing some financial issues and looking for a new buyer and gym will be operational from 1st week of june.

I mean they are just fooling us around.
We need to take a action against dem asap.

Those guys knew it was goin to be closed and i checked a community on FB and dere also its written that these guys have run with millions from PUNE and Jalandhar.

We need names and numbers of those o[censored]s who are affected and compalining . I do not see any here so mayy I suggest that the initiator prepare a list. i had recently paid 10 K worth for lifetime membership and it had been just 12 days since i started, now to my surprise they informed that the GYM would be closed for maintainence on members request which was never notified and then again it states that the now it will be closed until 06/03/2011 ...paying a lifetime fees and then monthly membership and then the management running is not fair at all ...Lets join together to have our payments refunded in full along with a serious action against the management .[protected]@yahoo.com

I joined in November 2010.. with the 10 year membership fee for Anytime slot... paid 7.5K as membership fee. Membership no. 874! They just can fleece people like this! there are no notifications about the same. They should refund!

This is rediculus..such a big brand name could go so cheap!!! i was also a member under the 10yrs membership crap which lasted for just 3 months!! we need to take this up and there has to be some resolution to this issue...there were close to 1000 members and i see no reason for the company to go bankrupt...anyways thats not my concern i need a refund too and that to sooner then later...

friends i recently visited anytime fitness nd they told me dat the gym might open on 3rd of june...so lets wait till 3rd...nd lets gather there nd meet d building owner collectively...it will leave a serious note on them...let have patience till 3 rd nd after 3rd june lets kick their so hard that whole of chandigarh could hear the sound of bang...

Same here i along with my 3 family members joined and paid the membership fees for 10 years. I even recommended the gym to many of my friends. I made one cousion of mine to join just 15 days before the closure of the gym. The gym was owned by company itself and not a franchisee. When i checked with the mangers and trainers around 4-5 months back, they told me that the gym is suffering loss of 3 lacs per month in Chandigarh. The cost of running the gym was about 12 lacs per month and their collections was just 9 lacs per month.I fully support to sue these kind of companies fleecing customers.
