Asus Mobile Phone P527 — Defective product, poor service
I bought an Asus Mobile fone (P-527) sometime in March 2008. Since then I always had problems with this handset. The first set I bought had problems of hanging, and your customer service replaced the mother board. However the problem was not resolved and they replaced the phone. I still continued to have problems with this phone (hanging, keyboard problems, network access problems, GPS problems). Later the screen developed problems and stopped responding to taps on certain areas of the screen. Asus Customer Service promptly replaced the screen and I collected the repaird phone today (29th Nov 2008).
However, it seems that the phone was not tested well enough. Immediately after I received my repaired handset, I found out that the keypad is not working. I had left the service center and reached home by the time I realized this.
Your service center in Bangalore is currently in a very inaccessible location. There is no place to park, taxis do not want to go there and wait, and if at all a taxi is willing to go, they charge higher. I paid INR 600 for a taxi just to get my phone serviced, receipts of which have been preserved, should I need to take this matter up with the consumers court.
It is ok if I have to travel, but it is unacceptable that a repaired handset is not tested well enough. My handset's keypad is not working. It seems like the service center is doing their best, but the product itself is defective. It has so many problems.
When I send my complaint as email to customer support, it seems that the email address mentioned in their website is incorrect: firstname.lastname@example.org, and I get delivery failures.
The product is very poorly manufactured, and despite several replacements, the new product is still defective.
