[Resolved]  Bajaj Discover Dtsi 125cc — silencer compliant

I had purchased a Bajaj Discover Dtsi 125cc bike on 6/3/06 from the dealer KVR Motors, Thalassery. Immediately after the end of the warranty of 2 years, on April of 2008, the silencer of the bike started to make sounds from inside. The technicians told me that it was because of some welding problem inside the silencer and it couldnot be repaired. I waited nearly 5 months to get the new silencer fixed on 27/8/08. I have paid Rs.3177/- (three thousand one hundred and seventyseven only) for the new silencer.
It is a pity that a costly part like silencer fails in 2 years time. The bike ran only 16300 km. All the services were done as per your instructions. It is very clear that the silencer failed because of the quality of workmanship. You may have reasons to reject the warranty claim because the warranty period was over. But for an average customer like me, changing a part which costs Rs.3177/- after only 24 months is unbearable especially when the fault was not because of me. That is why I have decided to inform you about my feelings. Also I have decided that my next bike will not be a Bajaj.

All Bajaj bikes have this as inherent problem and the Pulsar is the most sought after and replacement costs Rs. 3600/-, probably Bajaj is making huge money by selling of these silencers as spares.

BAJAJ XCD125CC — milage is very low

I am one of the costumer in your bajaj auto ltd.
i have purchase xcd 125cc last year nov2007 still 1st service bike is OK and millage is 92km per Ltr but after 1st service my bike millage is 45km to 52km per ltrs.then i give to complain to Grand Bajaj they are test the bike and some repair work done after the repair nothing is hapend so this the continue five six time still free service is furnish, now problem is going on so i am fedup with your bajaj dealer at puri the dealer is not having qualified technicians at service center.if this is way to care a valuable customer then there is no self respect for the people. if these type of dealer will bajaj gave to the market then bajaj will loose its prestige. i am old customer of bajaj and i like all the products. still i have two more bike of bajaj boxer and a scooter. i hope you can undrstand my problem and gave me good solution my bike status is 2nd paid service.so please kindly solve my probelem and take action immediately,

Yes... Really Bajaj Silencer suckssss .. I am also the sufferer of the same problem... Who will hear our problems... Its a cheap trick on Bajaj side to collect money from average indian customer... It is very bad for Bajaj

I agree with these kind of problem bcs i have also purchase Bajaj Discover dtsi 125cc from one of show room in Godhara. That silencer was also fail within warranty period and technician told me same thing list ed in comment by Babu George.So pls take some necesarry steps against this kind of problem.Also the glass wool inside the silencer is not necesarry as all earlier bikes does not have this and also if some water touch that wool that makes corossion inside the silencer
i have poor service my bike low mileage
Its really bad about such a big company.. I also have the same problem with my Discover 110cc Bike.By default it affects the mileage. Surely some action must be taken against this...
Very bad Bajaj...Whether it s Discover, Pulsar, or Platina...Waste of buying an Bajaj Product..
I too agree with this, my bike Bajaj Discover 125 cc silencer erroded and broken down automatically.
Any solution for this issue is highly appreciated.

Bajaj/Discover 135 Bike — Non Changing of Silencer Pipe

Respected Sir,
I purchased a motor bike (Bajaj - Discover 135) from Amit Bajaj, Kharagpur, Paschim Medinipore, WB, 721301. After Six months from puchasing date the Cilencer Pipe of the bike disturbed. Then I contact the showroom. They committed me to replace the Cilencer Pipe. Because after they getting the new Cilencer Pipe from the company, they dynie to give me that.

So you kindly take a action as early as possible.

I would also file the same complaint in this manner, facing the same problem with my Bajaj discover 125 cc silencer, purchased my bike in the year 2005, only after 6 months of the purchase, a crack on the silencer's tail side was noticed, which was bring in to the kind notification to Meerut ‘s Bajaj dealer Vikrant automobiles at that time, but no treatment was made for this, after 2 years of the purchase, the silencer had broken into two parts.

Its very unethical practice for a company like Bajaj to deliver such kind of faulted products to market. Mr Rahul Bajaj pls. do something in this regard.

I would not advice Indian consumers specially who belong to Indian internet community to purchase Bajaj products.

bajaj discover 125cc — silencer problem

i have a bajaj discover 125cc and now its silencer inner core mesh comes out from the silencer..

it is like hairs of sumone ..
after removing it makes so much of noice or crispy sound..

what should i do??

Yes exactly the same thing happened to my Discover 125 CC bike 2005 model. what is the solution for this apart from buying a new one ? welding on the silencer will not good.

I completely agree with this complaint!
I am having same problem. I have purchased Bajaj XCD 125 DTS-Si and now my bike makes bad noise. Technician says that 'something' inside silencer is broken and you will have to replace this. My bike is still in warranty period, but service centre guys are giving me some silly reasons that your servicing is not regular, etc. Do they service 'something' inside silencer?
I am really fed up. they will make me to pay 3250/- for replacement. And I don't think new part will last for at least 5-6 more years. Bajaj customers have to spend this much amount after every 2 years. I am feeling like throwing this bike away... but I cannot afford new bike.

Everybody who is thinking of purchasing new bike, please be aware! DO NOT PURCHASE BAJAJ BIKES!!!

I STRONGLY I BOUGHT THE BAJAJ DISCOVER ON MARCH 2007 SIX MONTHS BACK MY BIKE SOUND HAD BEEN CHANGED WHE N I SUPPOSE TO CHECK SILECER WAS FULLY GONE. I NOT EVEN ABLE TO WELD THE BROKEN PLACE BECAUSE THE ENTIRE SURRONDING OF SILENCER ARE AT BROKEN STAGE EVEN IF I WELD NO USE SO BE CAREFULL IN PURCASE BAJAJ DISCOVER
I agree with all of you, I had Bajaj discover 111 cc purchased on march 2006, today[protected] my bike silencer broken in to two pieces, but I had this problem since last year. Some people are using the same by doing welding. Why because there is no assurance that the new silencer will work long time. But I don’t know that effect of welding on engine and mailage.
