To whom it may concern.If my mail reaches the Bangalore Police I would be very happy. Inspite of so many police why are the common man in Bangalore pestered, ridiculed, sweared at by the lousy good for nothing Auto drivers.May be in years you would find a nice Auto Driver.They do not even know how to behave with women.They change any amount without any guilt.Even if they see a old person standing in Hot sun they would not go ..giving reason.."nahi jana hai"..<<don't want to go>> If I could I would have punished all of them to hell but that I leave to God to do..would really be happy if the police makes life a bit easy for the common man and teach this auto fellas a lesson so that next time they do not trouble us.I have so many bad experience that I cannot mention all also it is difficult to complain against one Auto as all the Auto-walas have unions and everyone is guilty.I stay in Challaghata.Would be happy if the police teach the Auto Stand drivers a lesson there..They are rude and claim 2 times 3 times charge. I have seen many if these F... auto walas... first of all they wont go by meter... then will ask for 10 rs extra sir ... like an ... at 5, 6 or even at 8 in the night... so many i times i reject n start moving... then they themselves call us back... ok fine... we think chalo chalte hain...N many a time.. many many many a times... automatically ... the meter comes to be 10 rs extra only when we reach our destination... i always say to them very politely... that this shud be the actual rent acc to correct meter... but these ... F, , ... people... start shouting. like bangalore salo ke baap ka ho... man karta hai. salo ... ko pakad pakad ke pituu... bc...

Thing to be noted here is that in mumbai if a taxi walla refuses to take you to a destination it is a crime
punishable by law
Police there takes (if not fully positive) some action against them
In bangalore the auto wallas have become a mafia
Only way to break them is to promote use of public transport (by offering better service.. BTW it is hell in those BMTC buses .. if you know what I mean) and encouraging people using green solutions like bicycles (which would help ease traffic clogs as well as pollution, moreover it is a healthy option... give them tax rebate or something for lessening the load on our limited natural resources)
One way to do it is by observing no vehicle day (except Govt ones) at least once a month to start with and increase it to at least once a week over time (imho ... with fuel savings that ppl would experience on those days and tax lucrative returns in terms of tax benefits or rebates over purchase of common household stuff (like food, medicine etc.) they would definitely take up this cleaner option)

I totally agree with the aforesaid and believe that we need to need to stand against them. Another point against the auto drivers is the amount of pollutants they add to the cities environment. They are polluting the air and noise around us by great degrees. I recently visited Ahmedabad and was pleasantly surprised to see how limited the city is polluted. All autos in the city are CNG and the drivers well behaved. I hope our CM gets inspired by his idol Mr. Modi soon.

i have complaint against a auto driver having DL NO-1252/06-07, BADGE NO-591 for tempering the meter, i was travelling frm my home near popular bajaj showroom, 100ft ring road, bsk 3rd stage to my college hostel gate (B M S college of engineering ) which cost me everyday 18 rs where as this auto meter showed 27 rs . when i told the auto driver regarding this he resufed to accept his meter fault and started shouting at me, as i was having classes i couldn't argue with me and had to pay him so.
Pls take actions against this auto driver sorely it is a tempered meter

Sub: Illegal Activity & Evacuation of the site along with Rowdism at the Project Site
by the Developers of the Project - Mr. Mahaveer Ranka, his sons, Partner & Staff - at
the project site at Banerghatta Road by name “Paramount Pilatus”
We are introducing ourselves as one of the reputed Development & Infrastructure houses
in the country with our Corporate Office located in the IT city - Bangalore. We are an ISO
[protected] certified, young and fast growing organization with a vision to expand our
horizons in multiple fields of business. At Sovereign we believe in Excellence - in all our
Activities - our motto is underlined as – Driven by Excellence.
We have taken up building construction work for M/s Paramount Vijetha Holdings,
represented by its Managing Partner Mr. Mahaveer Ranka, vide their contract and
Agreement dated 23.06.2007 and for the past 26 months have completed about 30% of
the building project under the guidelines of the client/consultants. For this work we have
invested heavily into the site in terms of the Infrastructure, Staff, Materials and other
facilities including our own security and people.
We have completed the work and submitted the latest RA bill and our total amount due
from the customer is Rs. 2.09 crores but Sri Mahaveer Ranka has not paid the same and
in fact he has threatened our men to remove them from the site area. Against this Mr
Somashekar Reddy, our Security Officer, lodged a complaint on 14.09.2009 and the same
was acknowledged by Sub Inspector of Police, Hulimavu vide receipt No. 0452742.
We requested Mr. Mahaveer Ranka to clear our pending bills, but instead of releasing our
payment, he alleged that he has terminated the contract with us, which is unilateral,
illegal, arbitrary and contrary to the law.
Hence we were constrained to approach the City Civil Court vide Reg No. A.A. No.
697/2009, against this unilateral decision, to allegedly terminate the agreement and
contract. The copy of the petition before the court is produced herewith for your kind
perusal.
We are only interested in getting our payment due from our 10th Running RA Bill which is
over Rs.2.09 crores, but were not getting any commitment from Mr. Ranka.
Now on 25/09/2009, taking advantage of the holidays of the court and the General
Holidays, at about 1100 AM, Mr. Mahaveer Ranka along with his associates, partners,
staff and 14 goondas (pretending to be his clients, who have purchased the Flats) barged
inside the premises/site and started threatening our security, staff & labour –telling them
to vacate the site immediately, failing which they threatened that, our life will be in
danger. They further also told that - they do not fear anybody and they have the required
political backing and support and if we do not vacate the site – we will be finished.

My Security Personnel were shocked and confused as to what had to be done, as Mr.
Ranka had informed them that the people who have come to the site were his clients.
However, our staff was alert and they managed to pass the message to the Police Control
Room and the Local Police Station at Hulimavu and also to our Head Office. The Local
Police from Hulimavu reacted immediately and rushed to the site – they immediately
noted the names, addresses and telephone numbers of all the rowdies who had
trespassed the site and warned them to leave the site immediately or get arrested. On this
proposed action of the police, these rowdies immediately vacated the site and ran off.
Further our Security Officer, Mr. Someshekar Reddy, went to the Hulimavu Police Station
and lodged a written complaint which was registered by the Hulimavu Mico Layout Sub
Division, as FIR Crime number 0210/2009 dated 25th Sep 09, under the Sections
143, 149, 447 and 506 of the IPC 1860 Act against Mr. Mahaveer Ranka, Sri Ashok
Dhariwal, Mr. Aakash Ranka, Mr. Ajit Ranka, Mr. Ajay Gupta and Mr. Jagadish.
The above was required, as the law and order situation had to kept under control at any
cost on the project site, where we have invested heavily in the site in terms of
Infrastructure, Staff and Materials – to execute the project. On registration of the
complaint as mentioned above, the Station House Officer, visited the site & the spot and
could understand the tense situation there, as the local rowdies were still roaming, in and
around the site periphery only. The local police have also since then deployed two police
personnel at the site temporarily to take stock of the situation and ensure that nothing
untoward happens.
We were called to the Hulimavu Police Station on the 26th September afternoon, to explain
the points that led to this situation of the project and when the undersigned visited the
station with few of our staff, we also met Mr. Mahaveer Ranka, Mr. Akash Ranka, Mr.
Jagdish and his advocate – who were also present at the Police Station – and we had
discussions with them in front of the Inspector of Police –– but the outcome of the same
was inconclusive and they left the police station maintaining their illegal stand that, the
site be vacated immediately.
Sir, the matter is sub-judice and is to come for hearing in the court on the 3rd of October,
but still as of now, the rowdy elements are moving around the periphery of the site and
they are threatening our staff who moves in & out of the site, of dire and serious
consequences, if the site is not vacated by us immediately. We presume, all this is done
under the instructions of Mr. Mahaveer Ranka, his sons and Mr. Ashok Dhariwal, who
are remotely controlling these rowdy elements.
We fear that the issue may get more complicated than what it is today and hence we pray
and request you to give instructions to the concerned Authority and officers to investigate
and immediately take proper legal action against them – as per the prevailing law of the
land.
Because of this incident, we are fully disturbed and we fear that any untoward incident
will jeopardize our entire business operations. Even our staff and labour at the site are
feeling unsafe – and they have been asking us, to permit them, to leave the site –
therefore, it is all the more important to take suitable immediate action against Mr.
Ranka, his Sons & Mr. Ashok Dhariwal – before the situation goes out of control.

verdict for the future course of the works to be done.

we are facing rik driver problem on dialy basis and I guess so many people have registered their complain to cell or police station and so called other offices. I told one day to rik driver that I will complain to police about your abusing behaviour when he had asked for extra fare at 8pm in banglore. he said no one will do anything to us. Is there any instant help we can get if we will call specific number only then these guys will come on line.
Please share your problem with others only than we can stop such nonsense in such educated city.

yesterday i happen to take an auto at Majestic bearing the number KA-02, D4093 to Marathalli, as it was 2230Hrs he asked 1.5 time of meter which is normal. As i was not keeping well i just closed my eyes for a while and to my horror meter had reached 175Rs when it was near Airforce Command Hospital. Upon asking this he stopped the vehicle and asked me to pay 1.5 and get down immediately, he even refused to go further, can somebody look into this

I got a mail some day form one of my friend and she had sent me a number in which if we send sms to [protected] our travel points, eg: Wilson Garden to Thyagarajanagar, we get the approx km, short route to travel, and also the fare.
Which I use now a days. Otherwise I have dragged hem to cops and filed complaints. But still these issues are always there. We have to be strict enough and say NO to give them more than what exactly the amount is.
And this SMS facility is developed by few Infosys Engineers n something..
Just Check it out and also you can give feed back if the proper destination and route suggested doesn't satisfy you.
And I want to know will our complaints be registered here and will it be solved, by giving feed back..

I’ve reached a point o[censored]tter frustration with the level of antagonism, physical threats and mental abuse that I regularly face when dealing with Auto drivers. I’ve had situations where I’ve had an auto driver try to run me over because I refused to pay over the meter, and other situations where they have gathered in groups to physically intimidate me whilst slandering insults. They physically force you to pay what they ask by intimidation and threat of violence.

If anything is to come from this, we need to become united – we need to form a group who can be a voice of opposition against this injustice. I think the ‘I paid a bribe’ forum is the perfect place to start up such a group.

Recently I approached the Automation Enforcement Centre who gave me quite a bit of background into this issue. They explained to me that more than often the police are rendered helpless, because if they arrest an auto driver, the Auto Union immediately lands on the doorsteps of the Human Rights Commission, imploring that they are being unfairly treated. When such circumstances come up, the Auto Union gets their way because there is absolutely NO VOICE OF OPPOSITION. No voice of the people to notify the Human Rights Commission of the aggression and intimidation of Auto Drivers that we face regularly.

After seeing the number of alarms raised on ‘Ipaidabribe’ by those who are explicitly offended by the state of Bangalore’s Auto menace, I am proposing that we form exactly the kind of group that can approach the Human Rights Commission to give them the other side of the story and empower the police where auto drivers are concerned.
The Automation Enforcement Centre further informed me that for issues regarding asking for more than the meter, or taking unnecessarily long routes, if we note down the license number of the auto and submit it to the AEC, they do take action. The first time, they penalize the driver 100 Rs. On the second offense, they penalize by double, and double again on the third. By the forth offense they can be penalized 800 Rs and so forth. This system can work IF we put it to use, but more than that, if we put pressure on the Traffic Police to enforce these laws.
That being said, any form o[censored]nwarranted aggression, rudeness, slandering, physical intimidation is a human rights issue and needs to be taken up with the Police and the Human Rights Commission.
I propose that we approach the Human Rights Commission as a united voice regarding this issue, and further discuss how else we can remove the unfair power the Auto Union is exercising to carry out an antagonistic form of transportation.

They explained to me that more than often the police are rendered helpless, because if they arrest an auto driver, the Auto Union immediately lands on the doorsteps of the Human Rights Commission, imploring that they are being unfairly treated. Good Day sir / mam & dear Police friends,
As i was coming from Miller's Road to Bannerghatta Road on 19/11/2010 Friday night around 9.20 PM, suddenly an Auto driver along with his passenger crossed me & shouted @ me & my wife while we reached LALBAGH ROAD near Passport Office, while we were in our Scooter. The Auto-driver scolded me that drive properly, as i was suddenly escaped from felling into a dig in the road near HOTEL CHALUKYA, as he told, he was about to hit me with his auto when i just skid that dig in the that road near HOTEL CHALUKYA. 1st i got confused, and then realized & simply thanked him even though he used many bad words while scolding me like "nodkondu hogu., magane., sethogiruthiyaa., " etc. Suddenly a Muslim boy as noticed (wearing White kurtha) (passenger) sitting behind in the Auto, used very Bad words like "ammanna k..." like words and telling that drive properly, or else we (me & my wife) will die by hit some vehicles.
I noticed that both are rude. When i told, u shut-up, u r not the concern person to scold or advice me, as driver already spoken to me. The boy came out of the Auto by scolding with very BAD WORDS "magane., ammanna k..ya, akkan... " again & again. He used clear Kannada words, even as he is a Muslim. He even told, he is a son of a MLA in that area. When i informed then that, my uncle is also a Police & going to call him, the Auto-Driver and the Boy started scolding "Police... ava'n' bandhre, avanige hodithini", " IPS karilaa, IAS karilaa", "elru nan pocket'talli..", "avan.. ivan.. Saat.." like very wrong & badly. ((as they are the words not good, i used it sensored...))
My wife started crying when he used very bad wordsfor her too. I was helpless that minute. Some passer-by just watched but could not able to support us, as they are dominated. What i can do for this. I just noted the AUTO NUMBER as "KA 05 or 01 registration as i noticed the number only clearly as - "AA 1663". IF POLICE & LAW are STRICT, Please DO ACTION against those persons, as i really suffered yesterday[protected]. Let it won't happen for others like me. Thank you.

I have complaint against most of all the Auto wala's in Bangalore.
First of all these days, there is no licence plate displayed inside the auto, hence they hide their identity in order to save themselves if they are caught from any wrong doings.
Secondly, they demand excess fair of Rs 20, 30 and on the top of that tamper their meter so the total amount is more than that was agreed.
I have faced one auto driver, who did the above things and cheated me and also took money from me when asked from the meter running fast.
