People are talking more about North Indian being harassed at mumbai. But has anyone ever talked about harassment of non Kannadigas at Bangalore ? Ask the people who are living there. I am going to present the series of few short stories here and inviting discussion / comments. Last post was regarding Driving license issue problem. This is in reference to Auto drivers Bangalore auto driver is world famous for their cunningness (sorry but I thought it is the best word to describe them.) once you talk to them in Non-Kannada, they will never ready to go at meter fare. always twice or more than twice to meter rate. Here is a small incidence One of my known person were going to Chennai on Thursday, was with his wife and 1 year. It was 9.15 pm. They wanted to have an auto from Koramangala, Sarjapur road, Bangalore. They have asked 3 people all said Rs 250/- (whopping 3 times than meter fare). At last we got an auto who agreed to take us to railway station for 1.5 times fare. They reached station at 10.15 pm and found electronic meter showing Rs 90 /-. The guy taken out two notes of Rs 100 each. Auto person suddenly started asking for Rs 200 /- more than double fare. He denied and auto person started quarreling. He asked for meter card or / and police. Auto driver started threatening and called other auto drivers to join. Seeing many auto driver gathering, He asked his wife to go little far from the place as daughter was just 1 year old. His wife stood 50 meter away from the place. After 5 minutes of quarrel, auto driver snatched both notes and ran away with auto. They were not able to do anything except noting number of auto i.e. KA 02 AA ****. I would like to talk about my story..I started to office today morning..I was bit late...I asked the autowala, how much he charges from the Electronic city bus stand to the office..he readliy agreed for Rs 30...As it was very less (compared to all remaining days), I told him, the office is on the velankanni road...I told I will give hime 40 (usual fare) and then caem..This guy stopped right near velankanni and asked 40..I told him to stop near to the place I wanna get down..He was so harsh...he demanded 50 rupees for the same...And started to argue...He then told me to get down from the auto..after tht..since it was already late..I agreed to him and then he dropped me in office. he was very rude...he then started to ask.."Will u complain to police??"..he called me twice..I didnot look at him after tht..

Hello Sir,Me and my colleagues took an auto from Gaondevi to voltus compound,but 2-3 auto drivers came and
stopped the auto. They forced us out of the auto and asked us to take the share auto.
We were in the auto which was taking us by meter fare.These people are not doing dada giri.
I even asked a traffic police men on the duty to help us,but he denied and asked us to go and write a complaint in the office.
How is common man going to survive.
Please help.
I have face lot of annoying incidents with the autowallas. They are number one Bloody S****ers of money and BOP raiser I would say.
They charge money in too injustice way.. One day it was raining(drizzling actually) I asked one autowalla from Ejipura(near Koramangala VRR homes) to Silkboard, normally meter is 28-30rs, I used to give 30, I travel daily twice.
but that day that autowalla asked 150rs!!! is that fair???is that not illegal?
and othe normall day also they charge 50-60rs unnecessarily. That to they threaten us, talks rubbish.
one autodrive came to hit me also once. That too they dont stop where we want to getdown, they stop somewere where they are confortable, ask us to getdown in a harshway.
Their reason for charging more is too silly.
Are govt taking care of there uncultured behaviour of Auto wallas>??????
When they gonna learn lesson???
Atleast they should behave in cultured way with passengers instead they are doing rowdism. They dont ever elder, women or some reputed citizen.
Atleast if they behave in good way, we may feel to give extra if needed.
They just demand money ..jut like criminals ransom!!!

When they permit auto driver their license, why dont they train them culturely??

Hi i faced problemn yesterday nly...One auto wala was wearing a scarf around his half face i hve to go domlur near dell office from Baghmane tech park dat auto waala agreed wd metre n as soon as he started, his metre started @27rs instead of 17rs. den v arued he didnt responded.When i reach my destination i offered him rs.50 as metre was false n was showing rs.64.den he started misbehaving with us.finally gave him 60buks... i noted down his no.B-9639...Plz anybody should tke sme action against such people who r not honest on deir duty
Its a normal practice that auto driver do not want to talk about meter if your destination is below Marathahalli towards Whitefield. If you know to the local language, you could be lucky, else you are at their mercy.

Recently I came across http://excessfare.com seems like someone is trying to do something about these auto drivers. Best part is you can complain using sms too! I have already started using it... I have been harassed by auto drivers of bangalore. If this site will help to reduce such problem, it would be a great help for community.

Hi all, it was on 13 th july 2011 i was passing by BEL circle and by mistake shrug one of the auto mirrors .the auto driver started quarrling with me and further it turned out to be a fight .since i was not used to using the slam words he took advantage of it and started scolding badly about my mom.I want to register a complaint to the auto drivers association about this fellow .Further I was taken out of that place by one of the passer on in his bike to stop the quarrel .I wish to meet that auto driver again with the help of this association .since i didnt make a note of his auto number i am unable to trace him .please let me know if i have any options to find him with his DL, since i can easily recognise him anywhere anytime .
If you auto guys have really any gratitude about public help me out in taming that .

1) dont pay extra money to any auto wala
2) dont fight with any buddy, since they may harm you doesnt matter i[censored] r BLRian or outsiders
3) always look for digital metere

I took auto from the domlur to Ullsor, in the midway, he tried to take auto different way, so i asked him to take the normal way. which he refused to take and asked me to get down in midway. he started abusing me in the public and also I felt life theart and I am in the deep shock now.
Is anyone there to help in such situations? .

Auto drivers are very rude and ask for extra charges.For 3 to 4 kms they ask for Rs 100/- Rather than that they misbehave with coustemers.They don't know how to talk to ladies.If we tell them that v will lodge complaint against you, they offer their mobiles and tell the people to complaint against them to police.They are not scared of polce too.It is really shame for police that Auto drivers are not scared of them.Police should take some steps against these rude people.AECS layout auto no.KA-02-5853...That person is very rude n mannerlese person n misbehaving with ladies n asking for tripple rates.Some of autos which stand near ECO ALPINE Apartments DODENKUNDI always charge more and if we want to bargain with them, they simply say no to coustemrs.It is really difficult for those people who are poor.IT IS MY HUMBLE REQUEST TO ALL THE PEOPLE PLEASE AVOID TRAVELLING IN THE AUTO AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.IN MY OPINION AUTO SHOULD TOTALLY BANNED IN BANGALORE BECOZ OF AUTO DRIVER'S BEHAVIOUR.THEN ONLY THEY WILL LEARN THE LESSON. auto complaint — Threatened by auto driver
Hi,Today 3rd nov,2011 I took an auto from Jp Nagar Police station to Bangalore central which is 0.8kms distance.
Auto driver demanded me Rs.50 and when i asked why he used abusive language and tried to slap me in public.
Auto number: KA 05, AC8848.
Please clean up such people from the road.

hi ,today (23/11/2011) one auto no.13382 just rubbed my scooty near Ashoka pillar. I was coming in the left and this auto came overtaking my vehicle from left side and rubbed into my vehicle.

Usally its just 17 to 18 rs, The auto which i hired its showing 25 rs(that was not digital meter). i denied to give this amount he started abusing me. when i argu with him . Today 14-Mar-2012 I took an auto from Old Air Port Raod to Electronics city, Infosys. The guy intially said only Rs. 10 extra. Then after Sony World instead of going straight wen to Jyothinivas college saying he doesnot have gas. Then he went to electronics city. Usually, the meter comes around 160/-. His meter showed 251/- . On top of it, he said, he had an old meter so he showed me up some chart and demanded 350/- + 20/- as he'll not get any passenger on the way back. When I refused he started abusing me like anything infront of Infosys gate. Some of the bus drivers in Infosys supported me and said him he is cheating so, he agreed infront of them to take only 251/- as per the meter. Once they left, he refused to return my change and finnaly took 300/-. Through out behaved very badly with me.

To my surprise he asked Rs 150 and the meter is certainly tampered. The usual fare will be max Rs.40 for this distance.

He was drunk as well.
