[Resolved]  Barclay Bank Credit Card — Extremely Pathetic Customer Service

This complaint is for very poor service of barclay bank. I applied for barclay bank credit card last year in 2007 however I have not received the card till now. and I complaint for the same many times on their customer service number and also I wrote many mails to them however I got only electronic reply in which written "Thanku for writing to barclay we take this request seriously" however nothing has been done so far. I also received call from their mumbai head office and they knew about that issue however they said it's not there job whether u receive the card or not they have forward the complaint to Backend department. Same reply I got when I call on customer service number. These guys are sucks can not provide good customer service. receive so many messages from barclay bank and get so many pamphlets at my residence address. This is completely . Barclay customer service is really poor.

I have a barclay credit card. I am very dis appointed to see that Barclay has charged me for cheque pickup fee . I have dropped the cheque in one of the drop box mentioned in the website of barclays. When I called up the customer care for that, the guy named Rahul ( a customer care executive ) promised me the reversal of the same and admitted the bank's fault in the billing . But when I asked him to give a reference number against my complaint, he told that he is unable to do so . Then I wrote email to the customer care stating the problem . They replied that the charges are correct.

That means we have to pay extra to drop the cheques in their drop box !!!

I am not going to pay for the this, that is for sure and also i am going to cancel this card and ending any further relations with the this bank.


Advice to all future credit card users ::: Never use barclays credit card else face the troubles
I strongly beleive that a good customer Service must be provided in any level of a product. But the Barclay Card Service is the only one which takes an exception in all aspects. Till date I am not able to get connected to the Customer Service center. The numbers provided in the Statement & as well as at the back of the card is invalid!!!. Till date I am trying to contact these rethless Bank to dispute a charge but in vain. THIS CARD SUCKS.
its a pathetic experience using barclays credit card.u will get unnecessary late fees .horrible customer care having no manneres to speak .no respone from the customer care regarding late fees.a complaint shd be filed in consumer court against them.they are experts in harassing their customers .
Dear All,

I am facing a terrible problem from Barclays credit card. I have applied for credit card last year in oct.07. Then after 20 days i have received some cals liek verification calls and all that.
Later i received a SMS for request rejection of Credit card.

That was accepted by me. But now i am receiving calls from Barclays collection depasrtments from Mumbai and Delhi office regarding PAYment of card payment.
Payment of that card which has been deleivered to unauthorised person and i am yet not aware of that.
I am really very disturbed due to this. I have not yet received any credit card and Barclays has been issued it in my name to another person.

Its really a very terrible situation.
Dont know what i have to do now.
Please help...

Hi,
This email is in regard to your letter – which was in reply to my telephonic complains.
Summary of my complains:
1) I received a May’s statement (Statement date: 12th May) showing a debit of 4593 Rs – which was supposed to be paid by 2nd June 2008.
2) I made the payment on 30th may 2008 by cheque. Further while I was at outstation (around 5th June – 8th June), I received an SMS which was asking me to make the payment due, I ignored it since I believed that I had already made the payment & this must be due to automated reminder service.
3) On 12th June when I was back in Mumbai I called-up your customer service line number to check whether you received the payment or not – there I was notified by your phone executive that you somehow received my cheque on 6th June – though my bank statement shows that it was been debited on 5th June.
4) As per the June’s statement (Statement date 12th June) – I was charged for the delay in payment ( Late Payment Fee (Rs. 500) + Interest (Rs.213.11) + Service Charges (Rs. 61.8+ Rs. 26.34)),
5) Prior to this somewhere in mid of May month, I received one letter from you – which stated that the tariff will be changed from “15th June 2008”. I noticed that the ‘Late payment fees’ would be changed from Rs. 300 to Rs. 500 – but as mentioned in the letter this should be effective from 15th June 2008.
6) I called up the customer service to check about the Late payment & made two complains:
• 1st one for the late payment charges - though I made the payment by due date,
• 2nd one for the excess in the ‘Late payment fee’ – of Rs. 500 instead of Rs. 300,
7) For my 1st complain (about Late payment charges) – I was told that there is a hidden condition for the statement due date – which says that for making cheque payment the due date should be considered as 3 days prior to date mentioned in the statement – This was written is very tiny letters behind the statement copy. May I please know why don’t you put a symbol (like ‘* ‘ or ‘#’) just beside the statement date – so that we would be able to identify that there is a condition on that? – I just feel like being cheated by you – I made the payment on time still had to pay the ‘Late payment charges’
8) For the 2nd complain I had made several call - but every time the phone executive mentions that this excess ‘Late payment charges‘ would not be reversed in any condition – These executive are far away from being professional. They didn’t gave proper feedback/justification – They are not able to understand my queries – I had to call them each time to check the status of my complain – They never called me up to reply about my complain & every time when I call, I had to explain them the whole story behind my complain – Just to hear from them that “the charges won’t be revised”. May I know why the hell the excess charges won’t be revised??
9) I have recorded few telephone transcription & Incase If you unable to resolve the above issues – I will make complain to Consumer Forum Department.
The last call I made was on 12th July, as thought I had to explain her the whole story – she acknowledge my concern, but further replied me the same thing - “the charges won’t be revised” – as she got this reply from you “concerned department” – I can guess how much concerned this department must be. I believe that you people are just concerned about money & don’t care a [censored] for the customer service - you can charge and burden your customers, to fill your pockets – but believe me this won’t last too long. I have never seen such a worst service in my whole life!!
I asked her to transfer the call to her supervisor – Mr. Gurpreet Singh – he assured me that he had forwarded another complain for this & will get back to me in another 10 days time. I am not sure that you guys will look into this or will get back to me on this, hence writing this email.
Just to notify you – I have made the whole payment (including the excess late payment charges) – This was debited from my bank account on 1st July*.
*For any delay in getting my “excess late payment” to me – you will need to pay me the same interest charges which you took from me.
Please reply on this – if you wish to.

I faced same problem.Hopeless service.Ur lucky my friend they have still not issued u a card, try for some other bank, its the most pathetic service i have seen with my ten yr experience with creditcard companies!!!their call center number doesn get thru, so u can imagine ur state i[censored]r card is lost and their cal center number says this number is busy..all the time!!

Dear Sir,

I made payment for Barclaycard the amount is 11700.i made payment online by axis bank when I was making payment in third step(on barcaly site) it was showing TRANSACTION DECLINED & Transaction Status failure& amount deduce from my bank amount .so please help me where is this amount .
Sir I confirmed for axis bank (my saving account), they are saying your amount successfully debited from your account .now I am in mental stress, I called to Barclay bank customer care 2-3 times but nobody giving satisfactory answer .I am just asking from customer care what happen in this case (TRANSACTION DECLINED & Transaction Status failure). For me amount is too much .please do need full

Barclay Credit Card — No statement

I am not receiving any statements for my credit card. I had started using the card 4 months back. When I call at Customer Care and ask for manager, they say that there is not Manager Available, Can this happen. Please help.

Barclays bank Credit card — Credit Card Offer Not Serviced

Hi,

I am a resident of Secunderabad and have been holding Barclays Credit Card for almost a year now. In June 08, the company came up with an offer of leisure packages, gifts etc on paying a fee of Rs. 5000/- The amout was debitted on the with July statement and I had duly paid. Post this there is no information from the bank on when they would honor the commitment.

I had called customer service on the first week of September and all to hear that there are lot more who have complained and they have forward to the concerned to have this addressed. No news post this...

Based on the email contact provided inthe statement, I had dropped a mail and got a very prompt reply saying that they have forwarded to the concerned and will hear within 7 days. Initially happy on seeing at least a response, but did realize on my second follow-up that this could be a automated reply with just the name changing.

The bank is keeping customer away of information and looping into situations where you cannot get to the right person or an addresal system. The contact details provided in the statements are not very appropriate and looks like it is just meeting mandatory needs of a credit card statement.

A very poor operational system, I must say; and I look forward to some kind of addressal by way of this post.

barclay bank/ credit card — haven't received card from barclay

i applied for the card long Back through an agent. i recieved verification calls . but i havn't recieved any card yet. nowadays i get offers through sms. very recently i recieved a call from mumbai from the number [protected] asking me if i had made request for upgrading my card to platinum card. when i dont have the basic first card issued from barclay how can i decide about upgrdation. kindly take necessary steps to find out the problem. if the card is circulated by some one else kindly cancel it immediately. the card is not supposed to be issued to anybody esle which is in myname and my pan number (ABNXPT8479Q).MY ALTERNATE MOBILE NUMBER IS [protected]. After receiving my monthly statement i call to customer care and said to him/her that please reverse this. They give me[protected] no. for reverseal but they say no to me for the reversal. than i again call to customer care then they say sir please make a minimum payment. We will definetaly reverse in next month statement but they are wrong actually they also credited interest amount from my Card from last to month. So i am not giving payment because i am not getting reversal of Barclay Priority & interest. i will pay my amount after my all queries reversal. so please solve this queries as fast as possible. if your Collection Department calls me again & again i Have to take action against your Bank.

Barclay Credit Card — Pathetic customer service

This is with regards to a very bad experience I had with your customer service on 11/11/2008

I’d called up the customer service to see if my previous day’s transaction (online bill payment) went through because I got an error message “Page cannot be displayed”, however the Customer service was in no mood to give me this information, they asked me a lot of verification Questions and only for the reason that I don’t remember my last purchase which was made some 1.5 months back they refused to help me, later I asked for a supervisor called Irfan.. Who was very arrogant, stubborn and didn’t even know what customer service is all about… he wasn’t even ready to listen what I was saying…

For your information – I’ve been calling up Barclay customer service for past 6 to 7 months, No one ever told me that my details are not matching.. Case summary would also say that I called just the previous day and talked to Swapnil (Floor Supervisor) and he confirmed that the details were matching

Irfan also asked me to mail my Ration card with my mother’s maiden name on it to Barclay…. However I had informed the customer service 5 months back the name there is incorrect and I was told that it is corrected

This is also to bring it to your notice that your customer service is sick… and I would like to close my card asap

I had applied for barclays credit card approx. month back in New Delhi India. I had handed over the required documents to barclays executive . Also got a barclays apply reference no from bank . I made some e-mails to them for further information and statatus of the card. But till date nothing has been responded so far. Sub: Cancellation of the credit card.

I would like to cancel my credit card because I was mislead by your executives
1) Mr. Kapil Sukla- Customer executive on 01-09-08
2) Mr.Hemanth – Customer executive on 01-10-08
3) Miss. Joe Falins- Floor Manager on 01-10-08.

The issue is as mentioned below:

I swiped my card for Rs.27207/- and due date for the payment was Aug 13th 2008. I dropped a HDFC cheque with no: "178356" for the same amount on Aug 12th2008 as I was using the same cheques for the rest of credit cards. My cheque was rejected saying that it is outstation cheque where I did not face any problem with the other bankers. I was not intimated about the rejected cheque immediately and after 17 days from the due date I got the cancelled cheque from Barclay. After that I got another statement saying due payment immediately for an amount of Rs.34844.44/- out of which interest for Rs.27207.50/- was Rs.2181.94/-.
So immediately called up to customer service where I spoke to Mr. Kapil Sukla who told me that I need not pay the interest and I just have to pay Rs.32663/- only. I even asked him to give the reference number of this corrected figure for Rs.32663/- then he told me that it will be done internally and need not have the reference number or the newly generated statement. After that I made online payment for Rs.32663/- only with the reference number: "MHDF[protected]". I reconfirmed with Mr.Sukla so many times about the same thing. Please check your call recorded on 01-09-08 at about 08.30pm fro your reference.

After that I spoke to Mr.Hemanth and as well as Ms.Joe Falins (Floor Manager) on 01-10-08 as I received another statement showing that I have to the interest Rs.2181.94/- and plus interest on that was Rs.603.29/-. So the sum was Rs.2784.73/-. I spoke to Hemanth and he blamed that Mr.Sukla told to pay the amount Rs.32663/- because Barclay thought that I will not pay the amount totally and will skip to pay the amount. What do you think about the customer? Do you think every one will try to skip to pay the amount or what? I am really disappointed by the service and as well as embarrassed o[censored]sing this kind of nastiest service from you.
Please check the call recorded on 01-10-08 at 8.00pm for your reference.


So I have decided to cancel this kind of service and do not want in the future also. AND NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO THREATEN THE CUSTOMERS THAT THEY ARE GOING TO PUT ME IN THE DEFAULTERS LIST.

It is really a nasty service I have ever used.

Barclay Bank Credit Card — Unnecessary charges on the card and no revert from barclay

Sir,

I am a Barclay Credit card Holder, I would like to bring to your kind notice that i have certain discrepancy on the latest bills which have bee reported to Barclay since June 08. I have been sending mails on alternate days to barclay but no satisfactory revert. I have called Barclay customer care and i they have asked me to just drop a mail. Since then this mail trail is going on with Customer care. The concern has also been sent to Barclay head at E- Mail : [protected]@barclays.com but no revert. I am putting forward the concern and deliberate to resolve this issue ASAP:-

1. In the bills for June, Sep & Oct08, i have been charged late fee and other charges.

2. Even after providing my e-mail ID on 16 June 08 and requesting for E-bills only, i have not received even a single e-bill as on Nov 15, 2008.

3. I request you to please refer to all the calls that i had made on the foll dates for clarification:-
-16 June 08 with Rakesh
-21 July 08 with Rakesh
-8 Aug 08 with Deepa
-15 Nov 08 with Imran (TL)

4. I am looking forward for a waiver of late fee with other charges :-

- Rs 742.25 of bill in June 08. (Late fee 500+service tax 61.80+ debit intrest 160.60 + service tax 19.85)

- Rs 650.25 in my Sep 08 bill. (Late fee 500+service tax 61.80+ debit intrest 78.72 + service tax 9.73)

- Rs 650.25 in my Oct 08 bill. (Late fee 500+service tax 61.80+ debit intrest 100.59 + service tax 12.43)

6. Also please note i have not received the bill for July & August 08.

7. The Bills of Sep & Oct 08 says "Pay Immediately". As soon i received the bill for Sep 08 with this note i have dropped the e-mail with discrepancy but again i received the Oct bill with same late charges.

I tried to contact and resolve this problem but not action seemed to have happened. I have never received any call from barclay or any satisfactory e-mail from Barclay for these discrepancies.

If this is the ways Barclay works then i am sorry but i wish to disconnect my card.

I have already sent the mail to cancel the card but no action happened. Please help me.

Barclay Bank Credit Card — they are charging me again and again even after paying

Dear Sir,
i had some Rs.811 outstanding for this barclay card in the month of june 2008. and as they have no drop box facility and no online facilty so unable to pay the amount in time and noithing is updated . and no intimation. and they charged me around Rs.2988 during month october'08. and i did pay that in time i.e on 1st of november but cheque got delayed and they agian charged me Rs.793 for late payment fees.

and that also i again paid thorugh icici cheque no-267776 and i drop it in the cheque drop box of noida fater a long struggle to get it.please help me because they are going to charge me again. i am fed up and frusteded being paying unnecessarily.

please help me and take action aganist this bank.even customer care is very bad and they have no information at all.they simply pick up fone and disconnect.

i kindly request you to take action against this barclay card services, india.
