[Resolved]  Barclays Bank Credit Card — Cheating

Hi,

I am a barclays credit card holder. But i am not a regular user of this card, i am using the same to pay my fees only. They had come up with a Priority Circle scheme wherein they promised me to give complimentary gift. I asked them that why they had selected my no? as i am not a regular. They told me that the no. had selected randomly, but they did not tell me about the charges for this particular scheme. When i received the statement, they straight away debited INR 6000 alongwith service tax of INR 741.
I inquired about the charges then they said its a membership charges for the scheme. I told them, that the same would not informed me previously. The executive said, we will verify your call from our quality dept, & if there is any fake commitment from our side we will reverse those charges. Again i called customer care after 2-3 days to know the status, that time the other customer executive said, we have verified the call, & the charges were informed to you by our sales executive. When i asked to hear that call they said we won't do the same.

How would i know that they had informed me such charges before verifying at my end? How can i trust on them because my call was transferred to 2-3 executives? And about the complimentary gift the same is not received till date.

barclays card — Cheating

Dear Sir,


This is in reference to my various teletalk with customer executives since last 2 months. Since I am not getting any proper information from the credit card department, I would like to discontinue the service and request to kindly send the extra amount of Rs. 73/- which I have paid at the earliest.



I have been using various credit cards like Citibank, ICICI etc since last 10 years and not faced such a problem by this services. You can also check with them as I am not a defaulter or late payment maker since last 8 years. They are sending regular bills in time and there is no late payment from my side.



I got a credit card of Barclays bank in the month of June 2008 with various offers. To just start your services, I used this card with a purchase of small amount of Rs. 207/-After that I have been waiting for the bill for making the payment. I could not understand what is the billing circle and date of payment that is why I paid an amount of Rs. 280/- (which I could understand later that I paid additional amount of Rs. 73/- without knowing due to non receipt of bill) after that I called your customer service twice and could understand that the billing circle and payment date. At the same time I have requested them that since I don’t have any idea on the billing circle you should not charge any late payment for this and send a new bill mentioning Rs. 73/- as a credit.



You can understand that if I am not making any payment to the regular bills it is my fault. But this is due to your mistake that you are not sending any bill and without any bill how can I make the payment ? That is why I contacted your customer service after making an additional amount of Rs. 73/-.



You can also understand through your common sense that if I have received the bill in time, it is not a matter of making such a small amount of Rs. 207/- to you at that time and do not want to wait for any late payment. This may be also right, if I have been making irregular payment on receipt of repeated bill or so. Till date I have not received any bill, I am getting only SMS on my mobile that you have to make this payment by adding late fees.



You can see that on purchase of Rs. 200/- why should I wait for making Rs. 800/- as a late fee !!!



Since I am using your service first time, and the first impression of your service is like this way, I don’t want to continue your service and want to cancel the card. Even your customer executives are also not in a position to talk with their customers in a good manner to manage the problem. You are therefore requested to send the balance amount of Rs. 73/- which I have paid to you extra without knowing my bill amount at the earliest.



Even though I have informed this detail to your customer executive earlier, there is no meaning of adding late payment by every month when I am not interested to continue your card. So please take a not on the same and if I want to continue to use your card please send a fresh bill to me by crediting Rs. 73/- in my account and confirm at the earliest.

All this information is already passed to your customer executive

I have a Barclays credit card. They had come up with a Pririoty circle Scheme where they promised some travel vouchers and Trolley bag. The charge for the scheme was INR 5618. I have followed up through mail and Phone to their Priority circle Yet they have only false assurances and no action. I Feel cheated. I requested them to reverse the charge since it was more than 6 months and there was no action from them. They Blutly refused to do so. I beleive Barclays is a Biggest cheater in the Credit card market. Further I dropped a Cheque recently in the drop box designated by them much before the due date. They claim that they have not received the cheque and they charged me penalty. I beleive Barclays is prcaticing Unfair trade practices and cheating the Public

Barclays bank Credit card — Cheating and Fraud by Barclays Bank

I hold a Barclays bank Creditr card since start of this year. I was approched by the bank for their Priority circle scheme. They were to provide some vouchers and Trolley bag worth 2200 onthe scheme . They charged me INR 5618/ for the same and was paid by me in May 2008. Till date i have not received any thing from Barclays. I have called them numerous times and have written to their service desk, yet their only response is they are looking into the matter. I requested them to revert the charges as they unable to provide the service, their response is that they cannot return the money. THIS IS PURE CHEATING ! ! These people stoop so low ! . I have time and agian told them that they are cheating people Blatanly ! !
Further this month i paid the monthly cycle amount by cheque and dropping the cheque in the designated cheque box. Barclays people claim that they have not received the cheques and have charged me Penalty and late payment charges. Barclays are bunch of crooks who stoop so low to cheat people.
I would appreciate if they look in to matter and clear the mess they have created

My name is Srinivas Kumar Boggavarapu. I am a Barclaycard Holder with the card # ending with 7981.

I have received a phone call about 20 days back saying that your back is offering me a starter package gift as I have newly joint in as a Barclaycard member and I will be sent a gift packet and some package vouchers and I have asked them if I had to pay anything and they said it was an offer given by the bank as a new comer gift and it is obsoletely free of cost and asked me the card details and when I inquired them about the why they were asking me the details they said it was a verification process and I asked them to send it only if it is really free and they are not going to charge me anything through the card or so... and they said it was absolutely free of cost.

Now today I have received a message [SMS} saying that “Dear customer, your Barclaycard statement has been delivered on 03/11/08 by EXPRESS IT courier vide POD # 66048620.” Which I have not received till date and when I called your service # 60004444 they informed me that it is not a free package, but I was charged something around Rs 6, 700/- for that and that amount has been debited in my card account and I was shocked and told them what has happened and they gave me three numbers,[protected],[protected], and[protected] to contact and inform them to cancel the registration and I reverse the entry of debit so that it does not effect my account., which I was trying from morning, but could not get any response. So, I again called #60004444 and they gave me the e.mail ID and asked me to forward a mail to you people.

So I request you who ever is concenenig about this to please cancle that order or whatever it is and revert that amount back as credit to my card account, as I will not be in a position to pay it at any cost. As it will be cheating me if you people were debiting it. I am a small salaried employee and I will not be in a position to bare such things. I have told that it was a gift from the bank as we have joined newly as the Barclaycard members.

Please do the need full and help me out or else I will be in no way able to pay you people the amount.

Barclays Credit Card — CHEATING CUSTOMERS

Barclays is cheating the customers by simply taking all the documents from the customers who want to apply for the card and misutilising the information for other purposes.

Barclays just takes the documents when you want to apply for the credit card and they dont respond to your application at later stage and there is chance of misutlisation of the documents taken.

They are passing on the mobile numbers to marketing executives outside and making money. so be careful and dont ever apply for Barclays credit card.

This is very critical problem with Barclays Credit Card Priority Fee and I was calling in the Barclays Credit Priority fees Custumer executive there is no response for the long times and there is waiting for 1 and 2 hours and Custumer charges for the pay of mobile charges and there is no toll free number so please reply reg my complaint.

This is to inform you that I have been cheated by barclays credit card people.
The details are mentioned below in my first ever comlaint made to these people. I am not answered by any person in connection to my complaint.
But these people are busy harassing and messaging me to make the payment and threatening me to list my name in CIBIL asto I wont be able to take new credit card and loans in future.
So far I have made 4 complaints with the customer care dept, 4 complaints with the barclays priority circle dept and 4 to 5 complaints with the recovery department for the same and I have made 8 complaints on the following email id's of barclay credit card dept:
1. "service" <[protected]@barclaycard.in>,
2. "service1" <[protected]@barclaycard.com>,
3. "service2" <[protected]@barclays.com>
I always asked for an intermediary person between barclays customer care dept, barclays priority circle dept and recovery dept to speak to me and stop harassing me diverting me to every dept.
The idea of complaining to you came from a news channel who give solutions of various credit card functionings where another person had called them for the similar complaint and he was advised to complain in RBI
Please help me out of this.

This is to inform you that I had received a call from your customer care saying I have been selected for a package of 3 gifts which I remember was a package of a leather bag, a stay in different hotels and locations and third package which I dont recollect. After all this information I was told one of the manager would give me a call and fix an appointment and let me know the procedure of this entire package all about.
In a few days I received messages in a span of 4 - 5 days about a priority circle which I deleted twice and at the third message I replied to th message saying yes considering that this would be a way of the appointment or would become an invitation in attempt to announce the package to all under one roof. Then again I deleted the message after replying. On 20 oct 2008 I received an sms from barclays that my statement has been generated on 11/10/08 and will reach me in the next few days. Total Due Rs 6714.26/-
I contacted your customer care department and informed that I have not swiped my card for any purchases in the month of september or August what is the bill all about? He said it the card was swiped for Rs 6000/- and 714/- as some charges. Shocking!!!
I registered my complaint with the same person mentioning him the above related matter. He took my complaint and gave me the complaint ref. no as CAF2090028X and said I will get a reply back in 7 working days.
Do I trust your customer care?????
Please let me know what all is this???

I Abhishek Gupta is using the Barclays card since october ( Card No. - [protected]).

I didn't receive any of the bill because i left my job in Hyderabad and relocated to Delhi.

After coming to Delhi as an honest customer I contacted your customer care and requested them to send me the statement on my email-id and i updated my new contact no. in their database.

Instead of sending me the statement they started sending me the message for payment and at last on 19th January they send me the statement for November'08 instead of December'08.

When i inquired about the matter i came to know that the reason of not sending the December Statement is that they have charged some wrong charges in December Statement.

When I asked them to send the statement to me they declined and asked to make the payment first.

Please look into the matter and solve it.

How can I make the payment immediately? and threatning and tourtering me over mobile Phone and land line phone. Not only that He has told me that I will kill your family. What is this ??? My purchase amount most probably for Rs.8000/- to 9000/- approximately. He is disturbing my Employer also., that wil effect in my service. I am a very middleclass family. I am agree to pay the minimum amount due in monthly basis.I am asking for statement But he is denied to give me the satement.Continiously he is telling you make the payment otherwise We will attack you with our team. Please help me from Goonda of barclay bank. Only because of raisisng late payment fees and service charges and to raise the higher bill, the they have made this type of incident.

This is to inform you that I am the Credit Card Holder of Barclay Bank. They have not sent the statement for last 01 year in spite of several requests through email and over phone. My purchase amount approximately was Rs.5000/- to Rs.6000/-. But before settling my dues I want them to furnish me statement of account, on which I can make the minimum amount due against my outstanding as per the Credit Card rules of the Bank. I doubt that they must have inflated due amount by levying unduly high interest, late fees, unnecessary service charges etc. Now I am in Bhopal. After coming Bhopal, Already I have told to Customer Care of Barclay bank to Send me the Statement through Email then customer care has told me that I have to go to Delhi for make the payment. But suddenly they have invalidated my card and they have hired a Goonda (Goons) named as Mr. Suresh Walia from Delhi and asking for payment of full amount immediately which as per this goonda is hovering around Rs.15000/-. I have told to customer Care executive regarding this matter, but they have told me that already we have closed your card and we have transferred to collection agent for collection. This is completely without my knowledge. How can I make the payment immediately ? He is threatening and torturing me over mobile Phone and land line phone. Not only that he has threatened me that he will kill my family. What is this ???. Bank cannot do this legally this type of harassment. He is terrorizing my Employer continuously and office colleagues also which is affecting my mental peace and affecting my office environment as well. I belong to a simple middleclass family. Now my family is completely unsafe from Barclay Bank’s Goonda. I am asking for statement. But he is denying to give me the statement. Barclays Credit Card — cheating

almost a year before i got call from barclays for one of there schemes called"priority circle"..in this scheme i was told RS 4500 will be deducted from my card and i will become member and under this time and again i will be getting different beneficial schemes...also with this scheme i was suppose to be given gifts with in a week

1. an international quality watch worth RS 3000.....was given to me after 2-3 months but not an international quality watch but a crap not even worth RS 100.

2. holiday package for 2 people...never given to me.

now when i told them that you took my concent on false promise...revert back that scheme...and take your crap watch they are denying.

more over when i told them taht correct my bill then only i will pay they have put a fine of RS 600 for not giving the money...

please help.

Barclays Bank — Bank has cheated with me

Hi,

This is Rohit Gupta. I have taken a Personal loan from barclays bank. But they had provided me wrong information about interest charges.They told me the rate of interest would be 14.2% but after giving the loan they changed it into 24%. The name of the persons who deal this case are Saurabh Jain, Nitesh arora and Rahul singh.
