[Resolved]  Barclays Credit Card — Late Payment Fee

September '2008, I did swipe my Barclay's Credit Card for Rs 480. The due date of payment was 28th October and I did make an online payment as always for the Rs 480.The next statement, I get I see that a late payment of Rs 600 and taxes were added. When I called up the bank, they say that it takes 2 days for them to process online payment and so, I should have made the payment well in advance and have to pay the late payment. Since then I did make atleast 5/6 requests to reverse the charge, instead of resolving the dispute, Barclay's has been adding further late payments and intereset as it stands on June, 2009 the amount has been inflated to more than Rs.5000. The call center is the only way of communication with the bank and they seem to be very very adament to hear to customer's complaint.
Can someone please help me in getting this resolved, it's now pretty much a one sided communication, with the customer having to do whatever is said by Barclay's.

Barclaycard — False billing and missed Payments

The worst System and Service eversince I have heard is followed by Barclay Card. They ask me to make my payment through a cheque in the name of "Barclaycard PLC" and the CCno behind and to put in a rusted trash box like drop box situated in some petty shops in Chennai. Even though I made a payment which was reflected in my Bank account but was not accounted in Barclay's Card account. The very fine next day people from So called BarclayBank's customer service asks about the outstanding which i made. They irritated me to the core by calling more than 10 times a day followed by an SMS stating that i have not paid my due. Those person who asks me, never update what i tell in their system and so for every call i have to tell the whole story with proof.
I also sent my bank statement through register post which clearly shows that i made my payment before due date to the Head Service team and customer care team which is in Mumbai followed by a email too.
Till now I dint get any response from their side but could get irritating calls and SMS. After a long struggle I somehow made to understand an Collection executive about my issues. That fine Gentleman asked me to pay atleast the minimum due of Rs.150/- only then the Barclay Service team would consider my complaint. I then paid that amount that day itself through his representative. But it took another month now whereby i dint get any response from Barclaycard service team. I dont have words to describe more than this. Its easy for me to take them in Consumer Court with my valuable evidence which i gonna do it within few days.
I have a credit card of barclays bank, last date of my payment was 28th oct which was a holiday ( Diwali ) and i was not able to make the payment on 28th, I made the same on 29th, just because of the reason they charged me a late payment fee of 500 rupees and taxes and interest extra. Its a total of 630, now the thing is my usage for the entire month was only 425 rupees and i have to pay 1085. The worst thing is they dont have any customer care department who will listen to us coz when i called their customer department instead of listening me they started shouting on me. All other banks reverse the charge in such kind of situations but they are simply who used to visit our offices like stray dogs and then end relationship with their customer in this manner by charging late payment fee.
They will not able to sustain in India and within mine office location i'll creat a kind of bad image of this bank among the people.

I have a barclays credit card. I have paid my outstanding through cheque before due date. Bank says they got this one day after due date and levid 734 late payment fees and other charges.

Don't know, whom to reach out for such kind of cheating by the bank.

Barclays are the worst service provider. I agree to all the complaints made. I am a victim too.
They have put so many charges on my account which i dont reconise. Best part is the transactions on the statement are not mine. The reason is i had closed the card and a new card was not sent. but there are transactions comming on the card. They dont have answere...

Parden my language... These guys are pain ...
Never do the mistake of buying a credit card from Barclays
I have a Barclaye Credit Card. I have drop the Cheque of Rs.2500.00(Bill of abt Rs.2900.00)before the due date and get the message that they got my cheque and that was before due date. But after some day I got again the message that my cheque has been bounce, so I am charged an extra amount of about Rs1400.00. So i ask the Bank of which I have given the Cheque, they has to say that they had not received any cheque with that amount. So there is no question of bounce of my cheque.
So when i call to customer care officer they says that they cannot accept my request to Reward that extra amount and i have to pay that amount, when again ask they are not even ready to hear me. Now a day daily gettng a call of payment. And of these month which I have paid more than minimum amount and make them update also. Than also getting that calls and sms.

So please help me out to Make that extra amount Return back to me.

The problem is that i missed on a payment of Rs 899 it was due on 26 January 2009, i got a call from Barclay card`s Mumbai office on 28th evening around 7:00PM and i was told if i make the payment of due amount i.e.Rs.899 plus current amount which is not yet due or generated Rs.2349 togather i.e.Rs.3248 i will not be charged any thing as late fee charges.
However i got card statement 8 February stating i need to pay Rs.722.28 as a late fee charges.
I called Barclay card customer services and explained the same and the agent told me that Mumbai office can give this kind of false commitment to collect the due amount however there is no way that they can waive this charge.
Now I could have paid just Rs.899 if they could have given me the right information why i paid that full amount of Rs.3248 just to get the benefit of not paying the late fee.
So please help me out as they have told me i need to make payment of Rs722.28 by 25 February else they will charge interest again.

Dear Sir,

I have received the credit card from Barclays Bank PLC India No.

While signing the credit card form the Executive of Barclays card
sayed that we need to pay the cheque on the due date

As per his advice I have dropped the cheque in the drop box

The Due date was 8th I have dropped the cheque on 8th itself and the
cheque has been cleared

In my next statement i have received a late payment fee calling the
barclays customer support they said that the cheque has to be realised
before the due date hence you have penalised if any suggesstions you
require please put it in writing

I have droped the e-mail to [protected] but i have not
received any replay from them now the amount has been rasied from
Rs.400 to Rs.4, 000/-

And every day there is a call and tourcharing me for making the
payment but they are not ready to put in writing nor they will
response in writing nor they respond to the mail.

I have sent the reminder repetely but not respond but they call me for
payment and talk in hapazor manner.

Please help me in this regard.

Dear Sir,
This mail is about an issue i have come across with barclay credit card recently. Even though i have paid my dues by cash exactly on the due date i am charged with late payment charge of Rs.600/-. i have the reciept of payment with me. i feel this issue demands a serious attention from the authorities.

so many days i complained i have not received my credit card, i have not card number but again and
again you send messages send Rs.231.00 i unable to send without card number . then your representiv collect balance by hand that time also i have not received card .after two days sigma courier deliver it .so i complain custmoer care how you are charged me as late paymet please check it
Hi, , I drop the cheque of RS310 on 24.05.2008 but your collection dept. told that didnot receive the cheque then i drpped the another cheque which they received on 02.06.2008.In my next statement i.e june there is a late payment charges of RS 500.In sept. my total balance is 6078 and then i talked to your collection dept. they told me to give the actual amt. then i paid amt. of RS5200.then from my side the dues are month of october barclays give me the priority circle scheme and in month of january they reverse rhe priority circle scheme but they did not reverse the chargesof late payment fees.and now my amt. is rs 5000 which is not beeen used by me that is the fine from your side. Yes, the same thing happen to me. Also, I (was)am experiencing severe financial problems, I asked them if they can the lower interest rate from 23.99% to lower rate, they mentioned that if I pay three month in advance not including the month I called, they can lower the interest rate to 9.9. I did agree on the phone and made the payment, they honored it for one month and then raised the interest to 28.99%. Please advise if some one else have the same problem.
