Barclays Priority Circle — MIS SELLING OF PRODUCT

This is with reference to my credit card statement registered on my name PRADEEP KRISHNA GHADIGAONKAR Card number [protected]
3to 4 months back, I got a call from Barclays office and they offered me the membership of Priority Circle at no cost whatsoever. They also informed me about the benefits of the membership. I also asked them whether there are any charges for the membership, whether annual or one time or joining and they informed me that there are no charges for the membership and it is absolutely free.

When i got my bill for the month the statement says "BARCLAY CARD PRIORITY CIRC" and have been charged Rs 5000 . The said charges are totally unacceptable and I have not agreed for any such charges. The telephonic transcript would prove that at the time of announcement of the offer, it was told to me that there are no charges for priority circle membership. One may listen to conversation available
with the bank's records. This is a serious case of mis-selling as I wasn't informed of this charges. I tried contacting you but I wasn't able to talk to anyone as the line was busy all the time.

When contacted their call center they divert us to a priority call center which is handled by very unprofessional and un courteous executives. They are still claiming that they have listened to my call transcripts which confirms my accepting the charges. i want the bank to make this call transcript public, and i want to hear it. If i demand making the contents of the call public, they end up saying its confidential and cannot be shared. This clearly indicates that i have not comitted to any of the charges as claimed by the bank. The Bank is using unfair and unethical trade practices

Exactly the same has happened with me too. They have generated a bill with 6700/= ... and the due date is on 25th nov. I have written a mail for cancellation and talked to them on fone also. But they are not aggreeing for cancilation (on fone). . . Should i pay the bill? can anyone suggest. Please advise me.

Exactly same thing has happened with me as well. A person from Barclay called me up he offered me Barclay's Priority Circle scheme. He explained everything but he never informed me about the charges. Now two weeks ago suddenly i got a bill of Rs6741 from the Barclay credit cards deptt. The due date for the payment is 29 Novemeber 2008. because of this i am very disturbed and getting harrassed. Kindly help me.

I, Vikram Bandodkar also been trap of the barclays priority cirle credit card membership charges. My complain as exactly same as the above state by Mr. RamaKrishnan.

Barclays credit card has been cheated me by hiding the information of the membership. I have already informed customer care that I wont be paying anything for this membership which was not told to me at the time of the joining.

I request you to take action against them as many people will fall trap to this.

I agree to both of you mr.Ramakrishnan anf mr. vikram. As this barclays people have trapped me in this barclay priority circle they never informed us that they will be deducting 6000rs from your card they have just misguided us.

As i have spoken to the customer care they told us to speak to priority circle they told us that your call has been recorded we need to check up and it will take 72hrs. And i am very much sure that i will get the same reply as Mr. Ram krishnan has received (its confidential and cannot be shared)

I request you to please take some action against them and solve this issue.

I am also facing the same problem. The officer explained only about free gift and offers but nothing about activation charges. I have already send three mails regarding this to both their service and headservice mail ids. But no reply yet except one acknowledgement mail. The CC number they have given on statement is always seems busy. What should I do to get the bill and offer cancelled? Need help/suggestion.

I agree with Mr. Ramakrishnan. The same case happens to me also. Barclay Credit Card is cheating with customers.

I request to take action again the bank.
i am also facing same problem any solution is there please inform me
i have a barclay card since oct, 2007, i have not purchase any other thing and payment through this card, but customer care person told me that 7808=00 due payment should be paid by me for BARCLAY PRIORTY CIRCLE MEMBERSHIP.but i did not accept any other offer and customer care person did not inform me that above membership will be chargeable and i can cancel this membership within 21 days from amount debt of my card. how it may be possible whenever i have not use this card and i have not accept the any membership.but customer care person inform me that 7808=00 amount should be paid by you as soon as possible otherwise penalty will be consider. this is totally fraud case whenever i did not accept any other membership and they are daily harsse me for above payment .i will file F.I.R. against company .because whenever i did not accept any other offer .and customer care person did not inform me that membership will be chargeable.i have two e-mail. regarding above matter from BARCLAY CARD .e-mail shows that they have my telephonic recorded call regarding above matter. it is totally wrong how it may be possible whenever i have not accept above membership.
I agree with all of the above persons. I too was misled in the priority circle by the bank staff( as membership is free of cost) and billed me Rs 6741.00. when contacted they say the same as said to Mr. Ramakrishnan. I am following them daily to get both the membership and card cancelled. But till now nothing turned up.

Please help us in resolving the issue.

I have Barclay Credit Card No: [protected] since April 2008 but have never used the same till date. I got a call stating that Barclay is offering me free trolley bag worth Rs. 2000 & other discounts free of cost & there are no hidden charges .

But in Nov I got SMS that I have due amount of Rs. 6741/- when enquired I was told that it was debited to my a/c against some membership fees. Now the outstanding amount has been raised to Rs.7817/- due to debit charges for non payment of due amount.

I sent an email to [protected]@barclays.com requesting for reversal of charges and the debit charges and I received reply that they can not reverse the charges.
