I have usually booked air tickets using cleartrip.com and happy with the process. First time ever I had to cancel a booking earlier in April due to a family emergency. I was made to run between the airlines
(Jet Airways) and Cleartrip customer service several times to understand exactly who will be giving me the refund.
As per cleartrip support topic ==>How long does it take to process a refund?
"We usually process the refund within 4 working days of cancellation. However, it may take slightly longer to reflect in your account statement depending upon your bank. We’ve noticed that it takes about 14 working days for most refunds to hit their respective accounts. "
DONT BELIEVE THIS STATEMENT. THESE FRAUD SERVICE GUYS WONT DO THIS
In my cancellation it is almost 2 months now, cleartrip did not refund even a paisa. Their customer support doesn’t even know what to answer. I spend huge money even calling the support.
To add on, I have made a mistake in date during booking (entered 25th march instead of 25 April); I realised in the next moment and called up support for changing the date. They told it should be done in usual cancellation procedure and deducted 6000 for the cancellation.
The biggest revelation was the absolutely callous attitude of the customer service towards customers who decides to cancel a booking. I was put on hold for long time (minimum 9 minutes as per their recorded message) every time I dial the cancellation option. However when I changed tactic and dial the new booking option, I got through within a second to a customer service executive. Strange is’nt it? So they have separate lines for clients who need new bookings and those who wish to cancel their bookings.
For all appearances they have limited bandwidth and all their lines are completely occupied. Very smart and devious!
Incidentally I also followed their instructions to send an email to their customer support with guaranteed response in 24 hours. Over 2 days since I sent the message with a reminder and I received only their automated response acknowledging receipt and giving the same nonsense about being very customer centric.
I am still waiting for a resolution to my problem. Any suggestions?
This is pathetic, horrible and fraud cheat service offered my these 'diffculttrip' guys
