[Resolved]  Corporation Bank / Versova - Mumbai Branch — Horrible customer service by Cashier and Manager-Mr Neelkanth Nayak

Respected Manager,

This is in regards to the worst ever customer service that I have come across with your bank in the past 15yrs.

I have 03 Savings account with ur bank. One in Delhi and the other in Chembur Mumbai and. My mother and sister too have an account in your so called renowned bank in Delhi branch at dilshad garden.

I happen to visit the Versova branch at least twice in a month to transfer some cash in my sister's or mother's account.

I had 02 incidents just recently in the same branch.

I had a Delhi Citibank account cheque of my corporate account and had to deposit the cheque for the amount to come in my Chembur-Mumbai Account. I had specifically asked the lady if this chq would be transferred as it was an amount of 2lakh and wanted the money urgently. She promised it will be transferred by Tue as mon was a Public Holiday-Republic Day.

I waited and happen to call to check if the cheque has been transferred. The person over the phone says it will take another 02 days. I get a call in 5mins from the same man who tells me that it cannot be done as this is a Delhi cheque. I was upset. I went to the branch the next day and advised the Manager Mr Neeelkanth Nayak of the same. He too couldn't do much. He did not handle my query efficiently as my concern was if I had confirmed with the lady before depositing the cheque 4 times!, why wasn't the lady aware that the Delhi cheque will not be accepted!.. She had checked the cheque and signed on the deposit slip! Mr Nayak was indifferent to the concern, and very bluntly said 'go to your branch in chembur and deposit it and you will get the money in 4 working days!! .. I wish I had been advised of the same the day i came to deposit the cheque which was the 22nd of Jan. I had already wasted 5 days waiting for the money!!!

2nd incident happened just today and hour back!!! And this was the worst...

I had to as usual transfer cash in my sister's account in Delhi ABB-463, I had 49000 Cash with me of 100 notes. I had 1st made a bundle of 90/100RS note. Which was Rs9000. The lady at the cash counter took the cash counted it in the machine and then manually. It didn't take her long as I had already counted, arranged in order all that I had not done was tie a rubber band around it. She did that for me signed my rcpt and gave it back.
In this process all i asked as a customer was 4 rubber bands as I had to make 4 Bundles to give 40000. I was surprised with her answer. She said "Idhar sabko dene ke liye nahi rakha hai"(We haven't kept these to distribute)!! Just for 4 rubber bands that don't cost .50p she made a horrible face when I told her I have more money to deposit and the rubber bands will come back to you!!!.

I went back to my seat counted and arranged the money and gave 04 bundles of the 100 / Rs100 notes... She took the money, attended to a person whom she had to give cash. I didn't say anything! But when she started collecting cash from the next person in queue who had equal no. of notes she rudely said-You need to Wait! I have other customers. I said" am I not your customer" She replied, you are not from this bank! I felt so small, and ashamed to have been associated with this bank for so many years!!!

I told her I have handed you over the money and you have kept it aside, but now you are collecting some other customer's cash just because I do not hold an account in your branch but in Chembur or Delhi. I had waited for 15min. I went to the Manager who was equally horrible when he spoke. He called the lady into his Cabin.

The lady twisted the whole story and said that she had to arrange the bundle of 90 Rs100 notes that i gave her and it was taking long. I advised the manger that she was lying!!!

The manager was not ready to hear me but believed what the lady had to say, as he said “she has been working here for 25years, and I know her very well"
25years doesn't make a person excellent at her/his work. What is important is the customer service, which neither the lady nor the manager understood!!

The manager asked me where I was working. I told him British Airways! Mr Nayak got his personal grudge with British Airways saying that he arrived on a flight and his bag was mishandled and had to wait for 10 days!

He threatened that he will call up British Airways talk about its service

Now this was stupid of Mr Nayak, to get 02 companies in between! I think he doesn't have the sense that I wasn't talking of Corporation bank, but the attitude of a Corp bank staff that is ruining the image of his bank as there were other people who witnessed the scene!!!

I now would not hold any accounts with corporation bank, because of this unfortunate incident and the way it was dealt by Mr. Nayak, being the Branch Manager. I have lost hopes with this bank.

I feel disgusted to have been a customer with your bank for 15 years.

Hope you train your staff on Customer Service!!!
