DTC services: A tale of corruption and misbehavour
I have been living in Delhi since 2006. My experience with DTC is very pathetic..
I have been commuting between Mahipalpur - Gurgaon since quite some time. My experience with DTC since then is worse and pathetic.
The first thing is that there is schedule for DTC buses. Private buses like CITY bus services and cabs are taking advantage of this.
The the buses that are coming from Karolbag or Dhaulakuan are fully packed when these bus reaches mahipalpur. There are are around 500+ people are commuting between Mahipalpur and Gurgaon. Between 8 AM to 9 AM you will have to really struggle to get into a DTC buses.
Because I have to get down at Shakar Chowk I wait for DTC buses because most of the cabs and private buses and taking the over bridge after the Toll tax Plaza. But the some drivers of DTC BUSES ARE ALSO TAKING THAT ROUTE EVEN TH ROUTE NOT THAT. AND THE IMPORTANT THINK OS THAT THERE IS NO SUBWAY TO CROSS THE EXPRESSWAY. MOST OF THE TIME I HAD TO WALK AROUND 2 KMS BACKWARDS TO REACH MY OFFICE. WHEN I QUESTIONED THIS THE CONDUCTORS AND DRIVERS ARE JUST IGNORING AND USING BAD WORDS.
WHENEVER I ASK FOR A COMPLAINT BOOK THE CONDUCTORS REFUSE TO GIVE IT.
AND THE MOST WORST THING AND THE DIFFICULT THING IS TAKING TICKET IN A DTC BUS. THE CONDUCTOR USED SIT AT THE BACK SEAT GIVING TICKETS PEOPLE ARE STRUGGLING TO GET INTO THE BUS DUE TO CROWD AT THE GATE. I HAVENT SEEN THIS TYPE OF SYSTEM ANY WHERE IN OTHER STATES AND PRIVATE BUSES. THE CONDUCTORS WALK IN SIDE THE BUS TO COLLECT THE FARE THAT IS THE USUAL THING AND MOST CONVENIENT SYSTEM FOR COMMUTERS. BUT THE FEELS LIKE THE DTC BUSES ARE NOT RUNNING FOR COMMUTERS THEY ARE RUNNING FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF THE DTC CONDUCTORS. THE FEELINGS AND COMMUTER IS NOT TAKEN CARE AT ALL.
Look at the CITY Life bus service, after doping office staff and going to Gurgaon in every 10- 15 minutes, if you give 10 rs you can aramse without any problem reach Gurgaon.
This is in our the so called RAJADHANI.!!! its ridiculous...
Worst helpline service: if any commuter tries to make complaint on the DTC helpline number e.i.[protected] he finds it out of service or engaged. If fortunately, he gets connected, the representative sitting on the other end talks very rudely. Their squawk voice makes the commuter more aggressive.
Tickets are reused by DTC conductors: This is that fact which wouldn’t ever come in your mind. DTC bus conductors cuts the tickets for passengers and when he sees that commuter are getting down from the bus at their destination he asks for the ticket as a checker and gives those same tickets to the fresh commuters which is main cause of DTC loss.
I know every dept is corrupted but still hoping for the best... Hoping some one would take necessary action to improve the transport system in Delhi... This is the capital of the country, which has such a worst transport system.
