I purchased CX 5500 in June, 08. In July, 08 printing section stopped. I took to service centre. Black cartridge was changed then. Within one and half months printing stopped again. This time I did not revive it. On 13/2/09 I purcased 4 good cartridges and fitted. But, no printing output came. I took the same to service centre M/s. Hitech, 10A Hospital St., Kolkata (Token no. 20573). I took there on 16/2/09 approx. But, till 20-3-09 they have not returned OK the printer although I had urgency. My CX 5500 is new, I have not made any malfunction. But, why Hitech services, Kolkata -Epson Service Centre has not been able to make the same OK till 20/3/09. ... I have done wrong in purchasing hurriedly such a fault-prone printer. I would request Epson authorities to change the CX 5500 with a good model one.

early changes, vendor suggested..since the printer would be in stock before launching...the cartridge may have dried up..so 4 new cartridge., i have invested more than Rs.4000 .just to replace cartridge since Nov. 08 till Feb. 09, i have as many as 17 cartridges in my office, they are like toys...to me..
i mean such a useless product...I've never seen in my entire career, it takes almost 3-4 mins to boot..
& sucks lot of inks..
I feel so frustrated now.. i wish i would campaign about this company by word of mouth...not to buy any product from this company...i would not mind wasting my time & money doing so..
worst part is i say on outskirts of Mumbai city..i have to go to Mumbai to buy cartridges...so painful it is...
I feel sorry for the moment i read the review of this product before the launch.

I have Epson CX 5500.it's just 2 month i m using this printer & it stopped working... It can not print. When i dialed the customer care number after waiting 20min i got responce from executive name Mohammad but he was not able hear my voice.. Again i called from other phone, same things were happening i'd wasted my 2 hours on dialing customer care.
So thought to get in touch with EPSON Andheri Office ...i Got local service centeres number from there. I spoke to SION SERVICE CENTRE's one of the engineer Called GANESH.. He refused to come to my office & do servicing he asked me to bring whole printer to the sion service center. I took my printer to sion service centre . WITHOUT ANY SERVICING he said that your printers warranty is lost because you were using Bottle Ink .. and he asked me serial number of printer, so I refused to give my serial number because he has not done any servicing ...SO HE STARTED ABUSING ME ...
When I spoke to Ms.THAKUR in andheri branch she refused to accept that Service engineer can abuse and she said that my Printer's warranty is lost because of not using genuine cartridges, WITHOUT EVEN SERVICING HOW THIS LADY GOT TO KNOW THAT. When i asked her name and details she refused to provide me her emplyee ID ...
Is this the kind of service EPSON Service centres offers...
Give me the right solution else i need to throw this new printer in Scrap.

We have given Epson stylus photo 1390 at your for servicing at that time printer's head was in working condition but when we got it back printer's head has stopped working & even the issue for which we had given not been resolved by them. I work in IT for some 35 years now, last 18 years and till date as director of a training centre for IT in Belgium.
Since last year December 2007 I am setting up a similar training centre in Bangalore.
For many years we have been using printers from Epson.
In January 2008, 18/01/2008, we purchased again a Epson CX5500 printer with Silicon Information Technologies at CMH Road in Bangalore.
Serial number K37V015646.
Beginning of September 2008 we had the first time problems. Through the Epson helpline we were promised for support in our office within 24 hours.
We have been waiting, calling, waiting, calling, waiting … for as many as 7 days before anybody was willing to show up. It got “repaired”.
We had again similar problems after hardly one week. It got “repaired”, thanks to indeed a very helpful engineer.
Last week (24/02/2009) again the same story. Again waiting for days before somebody showed up. Again waiting for days, calling every time and again to get a “repaired” printer back.
We got back, but it was not tested. The problem was blamed on the branded cartridges : if we don’t use the printer 2-3 times a week, the cartridges will get dry and the printer will not work.
We went to the shop, bought the most expensive cartridges (73) … and again : the printer refuses to work, lights are flashing and the printer gives the message ‘the cartridges are empty’.
So, today, 2nd of March, again we called the support. They promised, again, to come today itself … but, as you probably can guess, we were waiting in vain.
Again we are not able to do our company work properly because Epson fails to deliver its services ….
We would please request you : to deliver us immediately a replacement printer so that at least we can do our work while we are waiting for ….. ?
Many thanks, though it will be hard to recommend any trainee or customer ever to buy Epson products.
