[Resolved]  Ford — Faulty brand new vehicle


My name is HarshDeep Arora resident of H.No 821 (FF), Sector 4, Panchkula 134112, HARYAN. I bought brand new Ford Figo 1.2 P BSIV Titanium (Chill Metallic) Chasis No. MAJ1XXMRJ1AY79447, Engine No. AY79447 vide Invoice No - VSLA900423LS dt. 27/3/2010, Allotment No. ALTA900411AL, Orer No. GEEA900423TH from Saluja Motoers Pvt. Ltd., 53, Industrial Area, Phase I, Chandigarh last week which has barely done 900 kms and now i realize the big mistake i committed by selecting Ford. Right from day one the car has been pulling towards left and the excuse i get from dealer is that of migration that i made from a non power steering car to a power steering one. I wonder who and what kind of pre-delivery checks have been performed over the car.

And something that is really a big concern is the sound coming from inside the gear box (identified by the ford dealer) when shifting from IInd to IIIrd gear. The dealer says there
is something wrong insdie the gear box, which will be replaced. However; the point of concern here is the car has barely completed its one week of operation and the gear box
needs to be replaced.

To me as a customer this is completly unacceptable, as i paid money for a brand new product for its smooth operations and not for the new product to be repaired in the workshop. I will not want it to be repaired and will want the car to be replaced with a new one or else a complete refund of my money along with the compensation for mental harassment. And if need be i will take the help of court of law (read consumer forum) and print media (all prominent news papers, automotive journal and online blogs). After spending so much money why on earth i should get a repaired product which indicates bad workmanship and product being not being upto the tall claims made by the company.

I am completely unsatisfied by just a weeks experience of being a ford owner. Rather i feel like i have been cheated and i bought concerns and worries by paying money instead of a new car. A brand new car is suppose to work and not to be ripped apart at the dealer's service facility after just a week of operation.

I am a service person and employeed with a company, who can't spare time every now and then as asked for Ford dealer to get car repaired. I have to attend to my office duties as well.

Please look into the matter at the earliest.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Regret to inform you that I have booked Ford figo model zxi, white in color 15 day back from Delhi’s showroom. When I asked about the delivery of car to the ford executives they are not giving any response, even more they are offering other model and other color, since I told him several times not to give me any suggestion regarding the model /color of the car .

Today my father went to showroom and asked for status of the booked car, then one of the ford executive told my father that price of the booked car has been increased and they will not be able to provide the booked car on the previous rate: the story does not end here when my father asked for the justification regarding the increase of the price of the car then he start abusing my father about not to teach them how to behave. I also called him at the same moment and he start abusing me too .Here are some wording that ford executive told us

He said: “Boss we will not give you the car, cancel your booking and leave from here “. I said that I will complaint against you then he said “do what you want”. This was a totally ridicules behavior from ford executive.

The behavior was totally unbelievable.

I am asking from you shall I look for some other cars or still for ford.

I purchased a Ford Figo TDCI ZXI Model on the 16th March 2010, from the time I purchased the Vehicle I noticed the noise made by the Engine in Ford is more than any other Vehicle in its class example Maruthi Swift, Maruthi Ritz, Tata Indica Vista and Fiat Punto. All the names I mentioned are based on the same technology CRDI except Fiat Punto which is on MPFI. When I compared the Engine noise with Ford Fiesta & ford Ikon I noticed that the noise filtration of the engine is a lot better than Figo, I complained the same at the showroom at Begumpet Hyderabad (Mody Ford), They told me that this was normal, What I don’t understand is when the Engine for Fiesta is same as Figo then why so much noise?

The above mentioned problem is just the beginning, every day I notice the car I find the Finishing and the quality to be sad, Mentioned below are a few examples of what I am talking
1. The Left Side Passenger door has Wax moldings in Brown Color on a Black car, This is very much visible
2. The Back Boot space door has a very prominent Gap between the Right side alignment and Left side alignment, The Left side alignment is really more and the GAP is prominently visible
3. On the Side doors the paint Job has not been completed to perfection, one can still see the White lines; this is the paint composite that’s used before the paint job is completed.
4. The Coolant Fan inside the Hood runs so loudly, my neighbors tease saying that a Jet engine had landed.
I was supposed to go for Hyundai I20, I made an advance payment to Kun Hyundai for Rs 50, 000.00 and cancelled reading a lot of reviews that Ford never compromises on Quality, however when I got the Delivery of the Vehicle I am shocked and Surprised and now think I made a wrong choice of Vehicle.

I took the Vehicle for Inspection to Mud Ford service centre in hyderbad Kharkhana area, the mechanics said that the noise is normal and there is nothing to worry about. I can get you guys the Photographs of my Vehicle with whatever problems I mentioned above.

I request someone to take this up seriously and solve my problem. Please compare other Engines and other vehicles with mine and then give me an opinion.

Welcome to the Ford family we're all disgruntled on one front, thats' after sales service. In a few words " at Ford does not exist". I had bought a ford Fusion in end of December 2007. A cooling problem was noticed the following summer in March 2008. The at my Ford service center kept the car for 4 weeks, pulled apart the dashboard and replaced an expansion valve. In the process they gave me a rattle snake in the dashboard which to this day exists somewhere in there. I have complained about this innumerable times to Ford management at Chennai and they have had a lot of people look at the problem but no one has been able to decisively fix it.

This is just one of the many problems you would hear about from fellow Ford car owners. It's a very minor rattle but the big thing is that after repeated efforts no one at FORD has been able to resolve it... they gave it to me for free and with very little effort but not even one technician at ford(I've tried different dealers as well) has been able to fix it.

They make great cars but the after sales service and the workshops are sadly still in he dark ages.
I own ford mondeo .it has done 80000km.I gave it for routine service.cargo baroda charge me around 26000rupee.same day after servicing on the way home it stop.since than no answer from com. Paid 19lakh, 7y back for the vehicle.all services was done on time.since four month no answer.
Ford Figo is one of the worst cars that anyone can buy, the service people always end up saying that everything is allright and within Ford India specifications. What they really mean is that Indians are below standard and we have make do with whatever is sold to us. If Ford India is really genuinely concerned about good customer service, the least they can do is to get feedback from all customers who have been reporting problems and "rectify" them all as a genuine gesture of good will and replace all parts if necessary at their cost.

1. Suspension very hard
2. Headlights not at all good, infact dangerous
3. Windscreen reflects the dashboard and the image superimposes on the front vision throwing a customer's driving to hazardous visibility
4. Road Clearance is pathetic when fully loaded
5. Mileage is the worst
6. Doors and Body have odd sounds
7. Brakes create a lot of sounds even on Models which have ABS
8. Worst Pickup in 2nd Gear even on normal roads with AC on
9. Back Windows start to slide down on thier own
11... the list can be endless

I am sorry to hear your difficulties with your ford car. Even i have the worst experiences with ford and its service people. I am updating and contacting people having trouble with ford.
