My Gillette shaving can exploded today (22-feb-2012) which i kept in my bathroom. I have been using this can for close to an year now and the bottom and top portion of the can sealing started to rust few months before. In middle of night i heard some bang sound and i did not realize it was from bath room. when i checked in the morning, i saw foam splashed everywhere including ceiling and the can appeared like diwali bursted cracker opened at the bottom. Probably it went of with a force. Attached are the photographs of the can and foam spray.
The foam can is not yet expired and temperature is definitely less than 29 DEG celcius in night in chennai.
I am seriously worried that if it exploded when my kids or myself were using the bathroom, it could have caused personal injury. I wont be using any foam can henceforth and may go for gels.
I have googled and found couple of similar such incidents happened in india.
I am not sure if GILLETTE manufactures substandard products for india.
Please advise how should i take this up to make GILLETTE responsible for improving quality of product so that more people are not injured.
Should i file case in consumer court and how much it would time and money it would cost me ? What kind of compensation will i get ?
