Guru Theatre — Over Pricing

4 Reviews
Before i get into the complaint there are a few things i would like to mention regarding this Pricing category.

for everything product that is being sold there is a
4)Price sold

it has become natural that when demand rises the price of the product sold increases.
sometimes we maybe tempted & be to pay above the MRP of the product.

i m sure that we have all done such mistakes in our life.
the complaint i submit is regarding such a case.

i had recently gone with my friends to watch the movie Avatar on screen in "GURU" theatre.
the movie was released on 3d version.

i had gone to watch it after some 3 weeks from the day it was released.
i was shocked to hear that the cost of the tickets were Rs 100 & Rs 150.

we inquired regarding the high prices.
they just said "it is the same price.i[censored] have the money watch or else leave"

quite embarrassed the 3 o[censored]s had to pay for the 150 Rs ticket and headed for the balcony.

There was a Big sign saying Rs 25 Tickets only.

1)the cost may seem natural for some who have lived long in the big city life of chennai or bangalore.generally movies screened in Madurai costs for Rs 10 for the 1st few rows,Rs 30 for the mid and Rs 50 for the balcony or Box

2)there was a rule placed by the government that theatres shouldnt charge over prices for the tickets.

3)since the theatre i had mentioned was the only one screening in 3d in the city they theatre had quite a very good demand.
but regarding value of the product,it has to be complained.

nothing had changed in the theater but for the price of the tickets.

i saw a lot of people like myselves coming to buy the ticket, getting shocked and then pay for it even though we all knew it was overpriced.

during the break we found the next cheating area in the theatre -Canteen

Popcorns that cost Rs 5 were sold for Rs 15
ice creams that cost Rs 10 were sold for Rs 15
all food stuffs were sold at high prices above the MRP.

even then there are people ready to buy the stuff .
products were sold at high prices way above their values.

what we people actually do is fight in the market with the spinach seller who increased his cost for a mere 1 Rupee but on the same hand we never question things like these and let them off right before our eyes.

Food prices in Cinema theatres — High rates charged in theatres

In Hyderabad, I went to Bramarambha& Mallikarjuna theatre in kukatpally. i noticed a rate higher than MRP was charged on the packaged food like...soft drinks, Badam milk etc., When I argued, they gave it on the MRP. But this must be stopped. Try to ask for MRP...!
This is also happening on most of the theatres in Trivandrum, Kerala...They refuse to give the food products if we argue to give it on MRP...
Dear sir,

In gokul Theratre at erragadda on 26.04.09 1st show food items rates inside threatre staff are selling very higher rates example : Lay chip packet MRP is 15 Rs. but selling at 20 Rs. Cool drinks 15 Rs. selling at 20 Rs.
