[Resolved]  Hcl Laptop — cmos problem in the laptop

Respected sir,
I have bought hcl laptop (K 2101)oct, 2007, and just within four months, the laptop has problem in the "cmos setup"(battery low). I have consulted dealer, and service centres of hcl, but unfortunately, they are not able to solve the problem, even today I am facing the same problem.
I am tired of taking the laptop to the service centres.

How can i go to CMOS SETUP.
I have an HCL Laptop.

first start the laptop then while in startup progress press and hold F2 for a second then u will be enter in cmos setup then its first option is to set the system date, time and then chose the option for save adn exit

I also have similar problem. Purchased laptop in August 2007. Got the CMOS battery replaced twice but still having the same problem of CMOS battery Low.
Kindly help. I am really irritated with this kind of problem.System date and time is always different everytime.

i hv got hcl p2102 laptop and have the psame problem of cmos battery loe and cheksum bad.it asks password which i cant provide.it happened within 4 mnths 4m d date i bought.

I have a HCL AX-Mint model, purchased from Croma, Vashi. I'm facing the same problem too. I've brought my laptop in October 2007 and have taken it to the service center 6 times since then for the CMOS battery replacement issue.

The last time I visited HCL service center in Marol, Andheri (The only one service center in the whole of Mumbai!) a technician told me that the AX-Mint models are faulty with regards to the CMOS battery and the battery has to be replaced every 3 months.

Now that my warranty is over, the repair will cost me :
1) Rs 1800/- for diagnosis charges (even if we know what the issue is)
2) they wud be happy to change the battery for free.

Total cost :- 1800/-

Free?????? After paying 1800/- for a diagnosis I don't need, they are glad to change my battery for free????

This is extremely crazy !!

They better replace our laptops or find a permanent solution before we approach the Consumer Redressal Forum. If that doesn't work then go to the service center and smash the laptop on these heads. It's better than spending 2000 bucks every 2 months on the laptop. I might as well use that money to pay the EMI for a new laptop, from HP or Sony, but never from HCL !!

Everytime i start my computer, my laptop stops on the first screen and asks F2 to Run or F1 to continue. When i press F2 it asks for password. I think this is a virus, because i never had set a password on my Bios. As i faced this problem again and again, I want reinstall windows Xp new OS, but it is not support So i think it is a virus. I believe if i update my Bios this problem will get rectified.

these HCL Sort of thing iz just ...dis company must be closed or they must sort out d cmplaints as early as possible

when i started my boot detup with cd.then it shows.boot.mrg missed.
but when i boot from.dvd...it shows no problem.
I hv hcl mint laptop.
plz tell me which kind of this problem.
