[Resolved] HDFC Bank Bank Credit Cards — Misbehaving/abusing by the staff | |
I Rachit Johari holding the credit account with HDFC for the last one year. Not once did I default on any payment on the card. One of my cheques was cleared from my savings account on the 4th December for Rs.6000. I did inform the officials about the same on receiving a reminder call from the bank. This complaint should have been recorded and essential steps should have been taken but instead I was informed that I might have written a wrong number and hence must have gone to someone else’s account. I was asked to fax a copy of the statement which I did fax across to the required people. But I was later called upon by the Debt Management team who informed that no such complaint was recorded. On the 19th December I re-faxed a statement copy to Baninder from Debt Management highlighting the payment release from my account. Baninder being a courteous person let me know that I would have to re-call the Care department and file a complaint and they would re look into the same and credit the payment if it was sent to a dummy account. In the next 15 days after doing so also no one could tell me where my payment had lost. I was being harassed by saying that I could not even write the correct number on the cheque and hence this issue. To validate this I tried my best to get hold of the copy of the cheque from my bank which took me a lot of running around. And the details were perfectly right. In January I still went ahead and made my payment which got credited before the statement date on the 9th January. In February I choose not to since I was already bugged of receiving phone calls for the lost payment which was being termed as overdue payment. On 3rd Feb I spoke with Baninder who asked me to re-fax the copy of the cheque and the statement to her though I had already done it twice to different people. I promised her to do so. On Monday, 16th Feb I received a call from the same department from one Mr. Sandeep who in spite of me informing him to check his notes before speaking with me kept on asking for the 2 months overdue payment. Though the initial conversation was sinuous and we were trying to be on the same page, the latter was not ready to get in touch with Baninder though he saw her notes that she was handling the account. I was called words and also roughed up when there was an exchange of statements. I later conferenced the line to Baninder’s phone which should have actually been his responsibility and got connected to yet another person from Debt Management –Sweta who handled the call efficiently and asked Mr.Sandeep to disconnect the line cause here too he was trying to misbehave and calling me a liar. Let us not forget I am in the 30 day bucket only and as per FAIR DEBT COLLECTIONS ACT (FPCA/FDCPA) or Model code for collections & Repossession of security issued by Indian Banks Association your staff cannot misbehave with customers.
