[Resolved]  HP Compaq Presario V3000 - 342av — motherboard & AMD processor having problem

sir,
my younger sis purchased a hp compaq presario v3000-342av, serial no. 2ce7260clt on 31/8/2007. this notebook is creating a lot of problem, the AMD processor that you have provided with this notebook is of no use, all the time it gets hanged & gets heated up within minutes. due to this the motherboard also suffers and now is totally gone.
when we went to one of your service centers in haldwani( uttarakhand, india), your service personal said that he will get it repaired but there is no guarantee that it will work properly and asked us to buy a new one rather than getting this one repaired.
sir with due respect i just wanted to know that if your company can't provide the service to customers then why have you installed so many service centers in the whole country.
i just want you guys to tell me what should i do? i am really fed up with this product of yours. kindly reply me as soon as possible.

i am parchasing a compaq preserio cq 60 104tu, jan[protected], but i dont receve my any gift and naw my battery problem no one to responce to me so naw i am going to consumer cort, , , my name is amaan i am living in coorg
I have got the problem in my hp v3000 laptop's motherboard is not working it's means tottaly dead. I have brought this laptop just 15 months back and now it's not working. As per the hp company service i feel i have cheated by them.


so please my suggetion to prospective buyer dont waste your money on HP & Compaq products. Find other company because this company is cheating us.
hi i have some problem of heat up of the processor before 1 month my laptop is working good but now its not working its fully dead i hv amd processor n i think its graphic card is corrupt so kindly help what do i do now. I fully fed up from ur product tel me as soon as possible.
I have been running arpound for this product since one year now...i had taken the extended warranty and got the set serviceable almost three times with the same problem of motherboard. unluckily my warranty has expired and i have again got the same problem...now where to go????i really feel cheated now...40k is not a joke plus the additional expenses of around 10 k...we need help, so many people having the same problem that means the product is having problems...it really needs to be sorted out...please take some action

HP/compaq presario v3000 — Model Problem

I have purchased HP presario V3000 Laptop in June 2007. After one year ie. in Nov 2008 it started giving problem of booting and display were not working.It has completely stopped working even if it was repaired four times and twice they replaced the motherboard and even my battery backup is very weak. According to repairing engineer, motherboard change will solve problem temperorily but not permanently as it will start giving same problem after some time.This is general problem faced by most of the consumers of this product (model). HP should replace all Laptops of this model sold to consumers in market. I have even extended my warranty period but my money have gone waste Now with the time adapter is also not working.
I have a Compaq V3228AU with the same complaint.
I have replaced the motherboard 3 times still the complaint is not over.
They have identified it is a manufacturing defect due to defective NVIDIA chip.
They extended the warranty by one year and offer a "HP Limited Warranty Service Enhancement" free repair for 1 more year for all the models listed in the HP-Compaq website in this address http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01296338&lc=en&dlc=...
But even if you go for the repair your problem will not get solved, I replaced my motherboard 3 times and every time it will only work for a few days and the display will go again.
This is because they replace the motherboard again with a defective motherboard containing the defective NVIDIA chip.
This warranty extension is trap so that no body goes to any court against them.
So please spread this message how they are cheating the customers go to the consumer court ask for the replacement of this product, never settle for repair as they will cheat us.
The company is cheating us, we should all get replacement of this product.
This laptop's thermal design is also very bad
The AMD processor has nothing to with it. The main processor is fine. The geforce gpu is causing the heat and the poor thermal design of the laptop do not push out the heat well.

If you use the main processor in full throttle, its not going to heat up that much. Rather if you use geforce GPU(run some graphic intensive application) the laptop will heat up to around 100 degree celcius

on behalf of one of my customer, i am lodging this complain, he had the same problem with compaq presario v3000 amd model, since he is from a middle class family and cannot efford to buy laptop every now an then and more over a student, the service center told to replace the motherboard, which means half the cost of the laptop.the warranty had just finished one month back.

I have purchase Compaq CQ-60 in Jan 2009 from Disha Computers N Delhi and since February i am suffering from nil battery backup, please suggest me any service center in Panipat or Karnal (Haryana) otherwise i have to take any administrative action.

I also faced similar problem. I advise you to to get total LCD changed immediately if it is in warrenty. Also now you might come accross Laptop to be going total out of working. 3000 series is totally failed b'cause of Nvidia chipset.

There was some problem in my since last 3months and i had given it for service center, and they said it is motherboard problem and they have replaced the mother board and charged me 6618 rs.. but now the same problem is occurring once again ... can i no weather they have changed the motherboard or not pl help me...

I agree. I had invested Rs. 35K, I am terribly sorry for that. I had got repaired my notebook 5 times in THE VERY first three months. It is now giving same problem again. These laptop/notebooks must have recalled and replaced in the very frst place.

Yes I fully agree with this as I myself and one of my friend too who purchased this V3000 laptops are facing the motherboard problem. They have already replaced the motherboard of my machine 5 times during the lat two years. Their service center and also the dealer from whom I purchased the machine has confirmed to me that this is a manufacturing defect of the machine and hence they are giving replacement of the motherboard even after the guarantee period is over. But I feel they are cheating us with a product which has been confirmed of an inherent manufacturing defect and still they are not willing to give replacement of the machines. The battery life of the laptop is affected due to the defective motherboard and they are keeping a silence on this. I am planning to take up this matter legally and those who have complaints of similar nature please do provide me detailed information about your machine at my email: [protected]@gmail.com
i hav the same comp and, incidently the same madening problem i went to the hp care thing the guy there said it was the motherboard and changed it. then he showed me how well it worked music and videos and all. i came home to find out not even the simplest games work metacafe doesnt work niether does orkut. iam fedup with this comp.

I have submitted this laptop atleast 3 times to service center for motherboard problem.When last time submitted to center that time engineer told motherboard problem and when i went to receive that time told now motherboard has been changed but processor problem.
Thats why i want a written note or Mail copy from you, , , , That your processor is defected, not working.So i Know that now finally processor problem.And then i can Complain to AMD...THAT...ur processor is not working.Just check it and replace me a new processor.
So kindly look into the matter and Reply me as early as possible.

I have a Compaq v3228au laptop -product no. RZ819PA, Serial no. 2CE7080413, the system doesn't boot till the time i don't insert the ac adapter code and the wireless adapter is also not detected which means I can't use wireless internet on my laptop. I have contacted HP but they say that these are general issues identified with these series of laptops and there was a one year extended warranty as the series had an existing fault, the warranty is over now, they say that the motherboard may have to be replaced which is nearly half the price of the laptop. HP never informed me about this issue at the time of purchase. HP was already aware of these issues and they cheated the customers by selling these products, they should repalce the machine instead of providing a no use extended warranty which doesn't solve the issue.A lot of other people across the world are also facing the same issues with this series of Compaq laptops.

I wish to inform you that a laptop Model No. V3000 wide s.no.: 2CE7062DN1 and Product No: RQ103PA#APJ was purchased by me before 2 years. During the 11th month from the date of purchase (i.e. during Warranty Period) the display was not coming to my laptop and i submitted that to your Surat service center. After around 10 days, i received it in working condition and i was told that this is general problem with this particular model and they have replaced the motherboard.
Again after the 8 months of that replacement, same problem occured. As the warranty period was over, i have to paid for the same problem and again 10 days of duration was taken.
I am regret to inform you that the same probloem is occured once again . This has happedn third time . In the period of hardly 2 years, i am facing same problem third time.

I buy this product considering the name and fame of your company. I am sorry to say that the kind of product you have supplied me is creating same problem again and again. I talked with your service department at banglore in the same regard. I am really sorry to say that this is a kind of cheting by providing low quality product.
