[Resolved]  HTC Touch — Warranty - No repair or replacement on failure

I am Madhav resident of Pune, Maharashtra. I have purchased hTc P-3300, and right from the day of purchase (March 16, 2008) it became a headache dealing with Customer Service Center and Technical Service guys. Fortunately I have a habit to note down all details like name, date & time of call, while talking to any Tele Support Persona. Special thanks to All Credit Card Phone Calls.

Following is the complete list of calls/conversation.
Date of Purchase: March 16, 2008
First time hang: with in 2-3 days of purchase.

List of calls and Verbal/e-mail communication with hTc Service Center/Technical Support

Representative: Manoj

Me: I reported the slowness, auto multi select mode switching and hang..
Solution Suggest: s/w problem, format it once using “Clear Storage” option in settings.

Me: Same problems and given the Case ID.
Solution: reinstall the Windows Operating System
In this case I had been there personally.

Me: The problem is still persist.
Solution: Now we need to change the motherboard of the device. But we need to wait for 2-3 weeks for get the motherboard from the company.
This was conversation on phone.

Now after waiting for almost 4 weeks, waiting to get a call from Technical Support, I called up.

Representative: Receptionist
Date & Time: Afternoon, April 21st, 2008
Me: Does motherboard got available now?
Representative: Get your device to Center.

Now here I found Mr. Roopam has not updated the system/people there and I had to repeat all the things happened 3-4 weeks back.
After depositing the device at center, engineer said I will get the device tomorrow, i.e. on March 22nd, 2008.

Representative: Receptionist
Date & Time: Afternoon, April 22st, 2008
Me: Is the device ready?
Representative: It would take another 3 days.
Me: Why?
Rep: It takes time for motherboard to get available.
Me: But you said yesterday that motherboard is available and get your device. Also yesterday while giving the Job Sheet, engineer said it will be done by tomorrow.
Rep: Let me talk to engineer.
Engineer: The device is ready and under testing, you can collect it in next 1-2 hours.

Now here one can observe, there is NO co-ordination exists. Around 4 weeks back Engineer says he has log the requirement. When I called, there was no such a log.
Even on the promised date representative says it will take 3 days, engineer says, device is ready and on testing.

So after receiving the device by replacing motherboard, the problem increased dramatically high. I had to hard reset the device at least 10 to 15 times a day. There were no certain steps to make the device hang. Even in many points it hang while I had kept it on my table and was not in use for long time .

So now I again called up service centre. I could not connect to Pune center for whole that day. So I called up toll free number. Data as follows

By the time I got success to get through the call with the engineer who had replaced the mother board. After knowing the problem is still there, he talked to his senior at Delhi and said to me, we will again replace the motherboard.

To make the problem more dark, the prequency of hang and need of hard reset increased to 20-25 times a day and finally on Friday, 24th it did not show up after reboot. I put on for charging thinking, the battery would be low, whole night. But it did not show up any further.

Now looking at all the things happened, I have decided to request for device replace ment and on Saturday, 25th, I personally went to Technical Center. Here I meet Mr. Ramesh Pulli, Head Mobile Division. He told me that he does not have authority to sanction the replacement and I have to write to the company using www.hTc.com => Support => e-mail option.

According to Mr. Ramehs, I wrote e-mail on Monday 28th. I did not get any response from hTc by Tuesday 29th, so I called Mr. Ramesh and asked about it. He said team is working on it and wait for another day, hTc will directly call you. By waiting till 30th and not receiving the call, I called up again. Conversation is as follows.

Me: Ramesh is manager mobile operations, Pune.
Representative: transferred the call to his TL, Mr. Gaurav.
Mr. Gaurav, TL: We will work on it. Give us 1-2 days. But I cannot give any commitment on time lines.
Me: But Ramesh said team is already working on it since two says, so why need more days and why cannot give commitment on time lines?
Gaurav: Mr. Ramesh, TL Pune is the one to be contacted for replacement. We are technical support and do not entertain these kind (replacement) of things. If you wish, talk to Mr. Vijay Biju on[protected], he is Manager Customer Service, Pune. Thanks for calling hTc. Have a nice day (and the call was dropped by Gaurav)

Now I again called Mr. Ramesh. He said he will call me back in 10-15 minute. This was 13:40 in the clock. After waiting for his call for around 2 hours, at around 15:30 hours, I called up him again.

Mr. Ramesh: I am talking to my senior. He is on tour. I will call you in the morning tomorrow. We will provide you a better solution.


Now one would get boared even while reading as well. And still I do not have any concrete solution from hTc/Technical Support/Customer Service.

i have bought HTC S 710 mobile set. it's display has gone & can not hear any voice.
despite such a costly mobile very sorry to note there is no reliable & reasonable service support in pune.
i feel like pulling the company to court.
I totally agree . I dont know what type of prople they have hired in call centres.. i m also facing the problem in hand set .. but call centre people dont even know where the hell are service centres.. also they provide wrong Nos...HTC service very very poor

I have also had an HTC 3300. after 3 months of purchase it got start trouble. the set was not got charged. then the service centre people replaced its mother board. then after 3 months it got same problam. i have approched consumer court. they send notice to htc and finelly they have agreed to replace the phone. the most unfortunate thing is the new phone started the same problam again!!!

so dont go for any HTC sets...

I Have a htc p4350.its been a year and i had made 5 rounds of the service center.i suppose the phone stayed with the service center for about one-third of the year with them.
I request a replacement.
Useless...Total Crap phone...I bought HTC Touch...after 26 months, it has stopped working & is now out of warranty !!...It doesn't start at all...they r saying I have to change motherboard which costs Rs.14000/-...WTF?...NEVER EVER BUY HTC PHONE...The charging socket of phone is pathetic...u have to wok hard to charge ur phone bcoz the pin doesn't fit properly into socket...WTF?...USELESS PHONE...Their service center is also pathetic.
I have a similar problem with my HTC Touch, the mobile failed to power on. I took the same to the service center. The next day received the call from the service center explaining about the failure of the main board which would cost Rs.16000. Guys please don't invest your valuable money in HTC. I vote for Nokia.

This is Rajkumar From Bangalore.2 years back i purchased a P3400 model HTC mobile. This mobile is showing a pecular behaviour. When some body calls to our number, They will hear the ring, But we don`t receive any call or missed call. So many people mis understood me Because of this issue. They are thinking that, We are intensionally not receivg the call. So i am requesting all, Any body help me and give some solution to resolve this issu.

I bought HTC smart phone and from day 1 I am facing serious troble like when i capture images & when i want to see those images it is showing in not supported formate for these i went to the servies center the reinstall the OS & gave it to me

Second problem it is not recognizing the memory card (4 GB).for this I again sent my phone to service center & they keep on saying the same line, we are working on it or I am discussing your issue with my senior and get back to you in 2 days.till now I did'nt recevied my phone.

I simply thing that if this HTC phone is not able to satisfy the customer demand or if they are not able to provide any permanent solution then they should simply shut down the store to avoid any further panic to user.can i get some one from the HTC side to address our issue

i have purchased htc p3300.from purchase i m getting more problems like hang touch pad is not working at all.if company has no spare of htc then why they are removing such htc mobile.its serious matter of htc.
these is a second time i m getting problem with touch pad.n once the mobile has been send to service center after 2 month result come there is no spares avaible then what is use of take high rates mobile.if company is doing like that then no use of htc mobile.i m very sorry to say that never use htc mobiles.
I visit this forum while I was searching the service centres for HTC in Delhi. Bad Luck, f3i would have come to know aboout HTC before I would have not at all purchsed this . I purchased in the month of Feb 2010 and as everyone says it is not working well since the day one. Now the Touch pad gone off.

I have got two service centre addresses in delhi. Planned to goto TVSE Servicetech in Kamla Nagar.

I think better not go to the HTC centre as nothing is going happen with the phone.

14000/- rupees wasted.

Dear HTC team,

It is with great regret that I am writing this mail. I am a very loyal customer of HTC and all the members in the family trust on brand HTC for mobile phones. But I have started to doubt on your service after the type of response which I am getting from your service team. I had given my HTC One A9 which I had purchased for Rs.30, 000/- to your service centre at Faridabad on 10 Feb17, 2017. I have followed up after that several times but I am yet to get any response as to when I would be getting my phone back. I also spoke to your service consultant number of times but there is no confirmation from their end.

Just yesterday, I was given the option of taking M9 plus (MRP Rs.23, 000/-) in lieu of my HTC One A9 after paying an amount of Rs.6000/- additionally. All this was offered because HTC does not have the required spare parts. Is it why we as customers should trust HTC as a brand ???

I really hope that I would get my phone properly repaired OR get the same model (one A9 )back if you do not have the required spare parts as it is none of my fault as a customer.

For reference I am also attaching my Bill and service copy.
