India Today Book Club(Living Media India Limited) — Free gifts promised not received

India Today Book Club sent me a letter which said that if I buy a CD pack worth 500/- I would get a free holiday voucher in addition to other gifts. The India Today company is a big and prestigious company(or so one thought) and so I trusted the offer and sent the money. I received the CD pack but not the gifts. The accompanying letter said I could claim my gifts online but I could not log on to the site. After no redressal after many phone calls, I decided to register a complaint.

Always free gift coupon any should be sent with the books sent to customers and not on online basis.

Customer satisfaction should be prime motive of your book sale. This is not the way to send the free gift coupon.

customer complaint should be attended promptly and satisfaction of customer is very important to improve any business. Customer is not simply a visitor but are boss to any business.

I am in receipt of 12 books and one benetton watch vide India Today Book Club Invoice No. ORA[protected], Order No. OGA[protected] dated 16 Feb.2009 for an amount of Rs.2598/-, the payment for which has been made through credit card.
I regret to inform you that I couldn't able to open the Website www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm as mentioned in the above invoice, for claiming free gifts against the above purchase. When I called your office on 23 Feb.09,[protected], your rep. has told that the website is available. But, the same is unavailable.
I would therefore request you to send me the free gifts against purchase of above books.

I took the package of 12 cds...I have not recieved any free gift...Tried to call u guys on all the numbers provided...but no response from ur side...MY membership num is ITBC09830315...PLz look in to the matter and take appropraite action as early as possible...

I BOOKED 16 CDS OF SUR SAAZ AUR TAAL COLLECTION ON 15-JAN-09 AND BOOKING AMOUNT IS DEDUCTED FROM MY CREDIT CARD NO. India Today Book Club — Online purchase worst of of its kind in the world

I had done a purchase from itbc online and I was charged twice and had shipped the item also twice. I had rejected one item and even before the item was shipped I rang them up as well as mailed about the additional order triggered. (I got two mails for order confirmation that is how I understood there were two orders generated).

From then onwards I had wrote almost 32 mails in all ids they had provided. I rang them up more than 60 times. All the CSRs say issue will be resolve within a day but nothing happened nor response for the mails no contact other than the mail id and the phone they give me.

This is the most pathetic online shopping and service I have expereience in my life worldwide.

I really doubt whether ITBC is a fraud company or not.

i have purchased 2 products of CDs from India today book club, the invoice no is

Though I made several phone calls, emails, I am unable to get free holiday voucher and free air tickets.
I have claimed the gifts through the web www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm as advised by ITBS executive. but till date nothing has come to my door.

Please do the needful so that i can avail my gifts.

Non receipt of free gifts
I had registered for Rs.60 lacs sweepstake entry on the mail received from [protected]@irctc.co.in. Thereafter I got a mail from India Today Book Club (ITBC) for successful registration in the sweepstake entry with passcode.

Thereafter I got a phone call from ITBC offering 20 devotional CD's @Rs.2599. In return they have informed the following freebies worth Rs.12000/- would be provided alogwith the CD's :

1. Reebok Shoes (they have taken my shoe size)
2. Voucher worth Rs.7000 for air travel in India.
3. Holiday voucher for Rs.5000

Today I have received vide their invoice no.ORA[protected] only the CD's, key cahin and purse whereas all other things as above have not been received.

On speaking to them they have informed to log on their website bookstoday.in/promos.htm and claim free gifts by mentioning the unique identification number.

Unfortunately after trying several times it is not being logged and shows error in the identification number.

ITBC have failed in their commitments and have failed to deliver the freebies and now are giving excuse of logging on their sites for claiming the gifts. It is misleading and people are fooled after they have made the payment.

The matter is to be taken up seriously with them and ensure they fulfil their committments or pay the money back to me alonwith penalty and fine so that such things are not repeated in future.

My unique no is[protected]A[protected]. Ihave yet to recieve holiday package as promised at the time of purchase of RAAG SUR TAAL package. plz look into for necessary action.

India Today Book Club — Free Gift not sent,Holiday voucher missing, Sports shoes missing, order not sent-- payment made

During the course of last six months, had paid more than Rs. 4500 by cheque to ITBC for different products. Have received only 20 CD set titled " Sacred Moments" and the Book " Foods that Heal Foods that Harm" Order still pending. NO FREE GIFTS/HOLIDAY VOUCHER/ ADDIDAS SHOES received which were promised in the broucher.

Every week I am getting flooded by mailers from them offering various things.
