India Today Book Club — Non - Receipt of Ragas a 16 CD Pack and assured free gifts

Received an invitation from India Today Book Club to Participate in the Sweepstakes worth Rs60,00,000/- and offered Ragas, a 16 - CD pack worth Rs3,999/- at a Rs1,999/- along with assured free gift of Reebok Sunglasses worth Rs3,999/- a 2-night holiday stay worth Rs5,000/- for a couple and a pack of 8 best sellers worth Rs2,000/- or more.


I have accepted the invitation by sending the cheque for Rs2,498/- (Cheque No: 341106 Dt[protected] drawn on State Bank of India, Commercial Branch, Kannur) being the cost of Ragas CD pack Rs1,999/- and handling and delivery charges of Rs499/-.

The above cheque was cleared from my account as on[protected].

But still neither Ragas CD pack nor assured free gifts were received.

Reminder letters and e-mail messeges were send, no response from the company.

Now the email id on the invitation were not active.

I HAVE FACED SIMILAR PROBLEM. AS PER OFFER INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB HAS NOT DELIVERED EIGHT BESTSELLER BOOKS AS WELL AS AIR TRAVEL VOUCHER. MY ORDER DATE WAS 16.09.09 I RECEIVED PARTIAL DELIVERY IN FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER2010. NEEDLESS TO ADD FOLLOW UP REQUIRED IN THE PROCESS WAS VERY VERY TRAUMATIC. India Today Book Club - Free Gift Offer — cheating by not sending ordered items and non receipt of free gifts

I was approached by Bag it Today team on 20/10/10 and informed me that I had won Rs.1 lac worth of gift voucher for gold box to be redeemed from Surat Diamond in the form of jewellary. but I had to pay Rs14996 for that in whichj Iwould get two sets of Reebok shoes,T-shirts , sunglasses etc. Next day they persuaded me repeatedly to pay the amount which I clearly told them iam not interested. but they keep on calling me and finally i had paid Rs.4998 with credit card card on 24.10.10. then they asked to pay Rs.298 as shipping charge.I also did that. On 26/10/10 again they called and asked to pay Rs.7000 so nthat they can club the voucher of 5000 each,which thankfully I refused.I asked them that whether they were cheating me if so I will go to consumer court. Again on27/8/10 they called me and told that they are sending goods worth rs.2000 and gold voucher worth rs.55000 by courier. I clearly told them my size as xxl but instead they had sent medium size. also for this rs4998 they had sent some books for which they says its cost is rs.3000.As promised they didn't send me gift till today. i d tried many times on phone and sent many mails also but no reply. batch no is 711/1

India Today Book Club — Item missing as assured

Its really disappointed to see that the packet sent by India today do not contain the items as mentioned/assured/confirmed in the messages by the India today Book club.
I have message in record which have details of the items.

On 16th Dec'2010 I recieved a sms regretting the delay in dispatch of free gift and informing me that the gift of order No. C909, ID no. [protected] will be dispatced in next 10 days. A considerable time has passed since then but till date no gift has been recieved.

Today when I tried to contact Helpline no. given in sms i.e.[protected], I was told to contact on another no.[protected]. On contacting this no. I was asked to logon www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm. When I tried to submit the required informations asked, It was rjected on pretext that the no. is wrong.

I am afraid that a huge group like India Today is cheating people like this. You requested to inform the correct date of dispatch otherwise please return my amount with fine.

I have recd a letter from your award administrator dated 22.05.09 stating
my winning of India today book club prize worth Rs.1999.
And asked for documents to prove identity and all.
I have sent the requested documents.
But so far I have not recd any prizes.

India Today Group — False promise of free gift on purchase

Dear Sir/Madam,
In 2010 November I subscribed for the the magazine "Times" from the India today group. For each subscription of Time there was a free gift of a set of travel bags. I made a payment of 2500 Rs. Inspite of many calls and emails and 8 months later I have not received the gift. It is the apathy of the customer care which has upset me the most.
Would request you take some action and ensure that the group do not make such false promises for the sale of their products.

India today bookclub Delhi, collected money by debit of my credit card Rs.2199 on 15.03.2010 towards
"Complete History of the World" along with roundup air tkt worth Rs.7000/- + Classic watch worth Rs.2599
by Reebok + 8 bestsellers worth Rs.2300 and the total amounting to Rs.14398/-

To my surprise neither I recd the book and other items even after Year & half, even after much correspondance thru email.

I donot know what to do. It is a reputed group of company and they are least bothered and taking there own sweattime.

like you, i also made a full payment to ITBC for the purchase of Philips Home Theatre along with some gifts.Now it is one and half year, nothing is delivered to me even after sending so many email.i am with you for any legal action .thanks -- [protected]@gmail.com
