[Resolved]  India Today Book Club — Non receipt of camera and free gifts

Dear Sir
I am from Tamilnadu and I have ordered a camera through India today book club for Rs 5298/- on 17 nov 2009 wide order booking ID[protected] but so far i did not receive the same. I have send almost 60 mails to them and made around 25 std calls but no one from ITBC is responding properly. I have requested them to cancel my order ,but they say the order has been fully processed from their end andcamera has been dispatched through dart mail on 20 nov 09 but so far i did not receive the same. When ever i inquire through phone they say "wait for some time and we have forwarded this complaint to concerned department" and almost 90 days passed still they could not solve the problem. This company is really cheating the public, so awareness to be created in the internet and media. The response by the employees also poor. Please help/guide me to get the camera or money which i have paid to them. Approximately i have spend 2000/- rupees for STD calls.

free gifts. — non receipt ot free gifts

I have not received the free gifts so far for the following invoices.

1) Invoice No. ORA 90062534 dt.[protected]. Unique Number. 1695520A[protected].

2) Invoice No.GRA[protected] Dt. 8-7-2009. but no unique number mentioned in the invoice.

I hope you will attend this complaint immediately and send the free gifts.
Any abnormal delay unreasonably amounts to unfair trade practice and deficiency of services attracts the provisions of Consumer protection Act and you are liable for the all consequences and penal action.

The answering and attending on the complaints is very very poor and very much delayed. Further customer may suspects the genuineness of the offers as you failed to fulfill your promises and assurances made while making offers and booking orders by your men with their sweet coated words and repeated phone calls. You cannot always make the customer to believe every thing by making empty promises.

India Today Book Club — India Today book Club- Non receipt free gift

I have ordered 20 CD pack for Rs 2599/- on 31st January 2009 via order no 0GA[protected], The product contains 20 spritual CDs + (free one holiday package+free round tip air ticket and one free reebok shoe if paid through credit card ) I have paid the amount through my credit card via IVRS on the same day. After great struggle and severe follow up I received partial order on 18/05/09 after 03 months. But till now I have not received free reebok shoe, many times I called customer care but I am disappointed by the answers provided as they are telling some times stock is not there and some times there is no shoe with this order and some times due to technical problems it has not dispatched. I think there is no proper records to them and no interest in customer satisfaction only interested to get money. if we order on COD they are delevering prompltly and fully. If it's prepaid finished we (Customers) has to die to get the order.
I have purchased LCD tv from CROMA Surat. i feel there is no proper insttalation done by your technician. No. of complain given but there is no any reply given from your side. this type of service spoil your brand image in our mind.

India Today Book Club — Take payments but not given Classical Music CDs

Last year, I had sent Rs. 2000 to India Today Book Club when they evinced interrest in me with their promise of classical music CDs and gift vouchers for travel and also lucky draw in which the winnner will get huge amounts of money (the bait that I fell prey to as I am a person with family but not enough money, doing casual jobs, somehow maintaining the facade of a lower-middle class fellow but alway fear of falling into the ranks of the wretcheds) . I paid the money by cheque and my bank passbook shows that they have encahsed the cheque. BUT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING IN RETURN. THEY DID NOT SEND ME THE CLASSICAL MUSIC CDS. THEY DID NOT SEND ME ANY VOUNCHERS. AND NOTHING WAS HEARD OF ANY LUCK DRAW HELD BY THEM.

I tried to contact them though telephone but it was always difficult to get through as that number alway tell you to wait for their customer-care fellow. In the process I lost a lot of call time and value of my mobile.

Ater they encashed my cheque, they stopped any communication with me. Before that and from the day I had ordered, thorugh web, for some educaitonal CDs whcih they did sent to me along with an airbag as a gift, they used to send me various offers through post. But now they are pestering me every day by sending text messages on my mobile to sell sundry and various products.



Being a book lvoer, I had though they are only interested in reaching books and CDs to the people, but these people are really Banias out to sell all stuff.

I AM 3 YEARS SUBSCRIBER OF INDIA TODAY. INDIA TODAY OFFERS A SUBSCRIPTION GIFT (OPTIMA WRIST WATCH PAIR) FOR 3 YEARS SUBSCRIPTION. MY SUBSCRIPTION NO. ITHRJ1867943 (SEPTEMBER 2008). I AM NOT RECEVED MY GIFT TILL NOW(7 NOVEMBER 2009). I HAVE DELEVERED MANY EMAILS TO INDIA TODAY BUT NOT RECEVED PROPER RESPONCE. I WANT TO REGISTERD A CASE AGAINST INDIA TODAY.PLEASE GIVE ME GUIDELINES FOR IT.

They promised to deliver the same in four working days. But till date I have not received it nor i am able to contact on the given number, [protected].

INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB — non receipt of gifts

I had purchased Britanica CD's (3 nos) and as per the offer a Reebook watch has to be given. But till date they didnot deliver the same to me and until repeat requests they are not responding too. i had sent various emails and they says in one email that they are under process. But the gift is yet to be received by me.

Kodak digi camera 9.2 MP.. — Not recd, yet..

I have contacted the customer care number[protected] many times but it was ringing with auto answering machine. After following the steps as guided, not able to contact with anybody for registering my complaint.

Kodak camera 10.2 MP — NON RECEIPT OF THE CAMERA..

India Today Book Club — Non Receipt of Samsung Touch Phone

I booked a Samsung Touch Phone model no. S5233 on 10/11/2009. Payment of Rs. 8999/- was made through ICICI Credit Card with booking ID[protected]. I was promised for the delivery within 2 weeks from the date of payment. I have not received the said product till date. Kindly let me no the status of despatch.

I booked another product with payment of Rs. 7598/- through ICICI with booking ID[protected]. The product was Philips Combo Music System. (Golden Jubily offer). I confirm to receive the music system on 22/11/2009 against your invoice no. ORA[protected]TS. India Today — Not received any promotion offers promised

Received books for Rs.3198/- from India Today Book Club, Delhi around 1 and 1/2 months back. This was coupled with following offer:
(1) to and fro air ticket within India; and
(2) a holidy voucher for 2 nights & 3 days.

Not received any voucher nor any communication by e-mail or letter. When visited to website "www.bookstoday.in/promos/htm", it is showing as "this offer is closed". I feel that I am cheated. Kindly receive my complaint and help me out. The details given at the time of booking are:

I would like to inform you that we had renewed our subscription and were promised a gift of an Encyclopedia CD and Bag for the renewal last year.
Despite repeated reminder emails (five to be precise, over eight months) for the same and telephonic complaints,nothing has been done so far.The reply is always that there is no stock of the gift and would take 2 -3 weeks for delivery.

Now,even the renewed subscription is coming to a close,but there is no signs of the gift.
It is surprising that a prompt letter for renewal has been sent now,when the first issue itself is not solved!

SHAMEFUL and IRRESPONSIBLE is what I can say about your attitude.

I would like to reiterate that your so called "wecare" services reflect only the contrary.I hope atleast this mail would bring some sense in your marketing.

I would just request the public never to succumb to such cheap gimmicks by India Today.
